ABC Renews Dancing with the Stars, The Bachelor For 2019 Season

DANCING WITH THE STARS: JUNIORS - "The Finale (Holiday Special)" - In a stunning surprise at the end of last week's episode, there was no elimination at the end of the night, so the four semi-finalist kid couples have all advanced to the finals on the season finale of "Dancing with the Stars: Juniors," SUNDAY, DEC. 9 (8:00-9:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network. ABC has renewed Dancing with the Stars which will return for a 28th season. Additionally, The Bachelor will come back for Season 24.

Hosted by Erin Andrews and Tom Bergeron, along with judges Len Goodman and Carrie Ann Inaba, Dancing with the Stars suffered low ratings last fall ( 1.1/4  ratings in 18-49 key demo, 7.90M viewers for the finale)  and a controversy over the winner. Dance fans were up in arms when Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess–arguably one of the season’s weakest couples–took home the mirror ball trophy. Currently, radio personality Bobby Bones is the in-house mentor for American Idol.

The Bachelor garnered solid ratings last spring, as fans speculated whether 26-year-old Colton Underwood would lose his virginity or not. The dramatic finale featured the former pro football player hopping a fence as he nearly quit the show. The hearts of Bachelor Nation melted as he chose Cassie Randolph as the winner without a proposal. Ratings-wise, The Bachelor’s finale garnered a solid 2.2 in the demo and 8 million viewers.
