For those planning to audition for AI Season 6 in Los Angeles on August 8, the tryouts have been moved from Inglewood to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA. And while I’m at it, here are the rest of the audition cities/dates:
- San Antonio, TX Friday, August 11 – Alamodome
- East Rutherford, NJ Monday, August 14 – Continental Airlines Arena
- Birmingham, AL Monday, August 21 – BJCC
- Memphis, TN Sunday, September 3 – FedExForum
- Minneapolis, MN Friday, September 8 – Target Center
- Seattle, WA Tuesday, September 19 – Key Arena
Fox announced at the TV Press Tour in Los Angeles that American Idol will stick to its Tuesday/Wednesday night schedule:
But as fond as Entertainment President Peter Liguori is of “zigging” while the other networks are “zagging, ” “American Idol” will remain on Tuesdays and Wednesdays mostly because “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”
Explaining that he is a little “superstitious, ” Liguori said that moving “Idol” to a new night after its phenomenal growth in its fifth season seems like “a huge gamble” that wasn’t worth taking.
“We stuck to Tuesday and Wednesday nights last year, with the No.1 TV show, and grew it, ” he said. “There’s no sign that says we should be moving it to Thursday.”To that end, Fox is creating its Thursday night slate from the ground up…
