2024 Grammy Awards Premiere and Primetime Ceremonies – What to expect

The 2024 Grammy Awards are here. And as always, it’s a long day that begins with the streaming Grammys Premiere Ceremony. While the Prime Time show gets all the buzz, it’s the afternoon ceremony where most of the awards are handed out! The Primetime event airs on CBS and will be hosted once again by Trevor Noah.

2024 Grammy Premiere Ceremony features performances from Jordin Sparks, Pentatonix and more

On Sunday, Feb 4, the Grammy Premiere Ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. PT/3:30 p.m. ET on live.GRAMMY.com and on the Recording Academy’s YouTube channel.

The opening performance at the Premiere Ceremony will feature J. Ivy, Larkin Poe, The Sing-Off and The Masked Singer alums Pentatonix, Sheila E., and American Idol 6 winner and DWTS alum Jordin Sparks.

At the 2024 GRAMMYs, for Holidays Around the World, Pentatonix earned a nomination for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album. And for her feature on for KING & COUNTRY’s “Love Me Like I Am,” Jordin is up for Best Contemporary Christian Music Performance/Song.

Adam Blackstone, Brandy Clark, Kirk Franklin, Robert Glasper, Bob James, Laufey, Terrace Martin, and Gaby Moreno and David Aguilar, as well as GRAMMY-nominated recording artist/drummer Harvey Mason Sr. will also perform.

Justin Tranter, who is currently nominated for Songwriter of the Year, Non-Classical, will host the 2024 GRAMMYs Premiere Ceremony.

Presenters at the 2024 GRAMMYs Premiere Ceremony include Patti Austin, Natalia Lafourcade, Carly Pearce, Molly Tuttle, Rufus Wainwright, and five-time GRAMMY winner and former Recording Academy Board of Trustees Chair Jimmy Jam. Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. and Chair of the Board of Trustees Tammy Hurt will provide opening remarks.

Who is presenting and performing at the 2024 Primetime Grammy Awards?

The GRAMMY Awards will return to Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena on Sunday, Feb. 4, 2024 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/5:00-8:30 PM, live PT) on the CBS Television Network and stream live and on-demand on Paramount+* (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the special airs)*.

Comedian Trevor Noah will serve as host and also a producer of the show.

Presenters: Christina Aguilera, Samara Joy, Lenny Kravitz, Maluma, Kacey Musgraves, Lionel Richie, Mark Ronson, Mariah Carey, Meryl Streep, Taylor Tomlinson and Oprah Winfrey.

Performers: Burna Boy, Luke Combs & Tracy Chapman, Billie Eilish, Billy Joel, Dua Lipa, Joni Mitchell, Olivia Rodrigo, Travis Scott, SZA and U2. Legendary singer-songwriter Joni Mitchell, will be making her Grammy performance debut.

Fantasia Barrino Taylor to honor Tina Turner during In Memoriam segment

The 2024 GRAMMYs will feature a special In Memoriam segment to honor the lives of some of the incredible individuals that the music world lost this year.

Stevie Wonder will take the stage to pay homage to the legendary Tony Bennett, Annie Lennox will perform in tribute to Irish icon Sinead O’Connor. Joining her for this heartfelt homage will be Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman. Jon Batiste is set to honor Clarence Avant, the “Godfather of Black Music,” alongside Lenny Kravitz. In a tribute to the Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Tina Turner, Fantasia Barrino will perform. Oprah Winfrey will also be part of this segment, introducing the performance. The American Idol season 3 winner recently played the role of Celie in the film adaption of the Broadway musical, The Color Purple.
