Due to a positive COVID-19 test, co-host Kelsea Ballerini will be confined to her living room during tonight’s (April 11) 2022 CMT Music Awards.
The singer will still perform and help host the show, she said in an Instagram post. Country singer Kane Brown will step in to be Actor Anthony Mackie’s co-host from Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium.
Kelsea is “devastated” and “gutted” but “the good news is I’m feeling a lot better, and the incredible CMT family and my team have brought part of the CMT set to my house … so I can still host and perform,” she said. She plans some costume changes. “It’s certainly not what we planned for, but we’re doing our … best,” she said. “I will still see you tonight.”

Tonight’s performers include: Gabby Barrett (debuting a new single), Jason Aldean + Bryan Adams, Jimmie Allen + Monica + Little Big Town, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Mickey Guyton + Black Pumas, Walker Hayes, Cody Johnson, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town, Maren Morris + Ryan Hurd, Old Dominion, Carly Pearce, Thomas Rhett + Riley Green, Cole Swindell + Lainey Wilson, Carrie Underwood and Keith Urban, plus the first televised performance in over two decades from the legendary duo The Judds. Emerging artists Priscilla Block, BRELAND, Jessie James Decker, Parker McCollum, Elvie Shane and Caitlyn Smith will also perform from the Ram Trucks Side Stage. Kenny Chesney is set to close the ceremony.
