American Idol singers Lauren Daigle and Danny Gokey came away winners from Tuesday night’s Dove Awards, the event that honors work from the world of Christian entertainment.
Last year’s Best New Artist, Lauren Daigle earned Songwriter of the Year and Artist of the Year, along with Pop/Contemporary song of the Year for “Trust in You.”
“It’s kind of crazy just to see where God will take you in such a short amount of time,” she said. “His glimpse of eternity looks a lot larger than ours, and I’m just honored to be a part of this.”
Season 6 contestant, Danny Gokey, won Christmas Album of the Year for his holiday collection, This is Christmas.
The event took place at Nashville’s Lipscomb University, and will air on the Trinity Broadcasting Network on Sunday October 16.
