Darren Criss to Make Broadway Debut in “How To Succeed in Business” (It’s Official)

Deadline broke the story a few weeks ago, but now it’s official. Glee’s Darren Criss makes his Broadway debut as J. Pierrepont Finch in the rival of How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying for a 3 week run, beginning January 3, 2012.

Darren will be taking over for Daniel Radcliffe who is leaving the production to go back to movies. It’s got to be a dream come true for Darren, who studied musical theater at the University of Michigan, and co-wrote, among other productions, the parody musical, A Very Potter Musical for his theater group, StarKid Productions. NBC Sets Premiere Dates for “The Voice” and “Smash”

It’s NBC day at the Television Critics Association sessions today in Los Angeles, and NBC used its executive panel to announce the season premieres of mid-season shows, The Voice and the Katharine McPhee vehicle, Smash.

The Voice gets a big debut following the Super Bowl on Sunday Feb. 5. It will settle into its regular slot on Monday, Feb. 6 at 8/9c pm. Smash will follow with its network debut at 10/9c pm.

Carrie Underwood Nominated for 3 ICM Awards

NASHVILLE, TN- July 26, 2011—The ICM Faith, Family & Country Awards are proud to announce the Top 10 nominees for the 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards Show to be held on Friday, October 28, 2011, at 8 PM CST at the Schermerhorn Nashville Symphony in Nashville, Tennessee. Carrie Underwood is nominated in three categories: Mainstream Inspirational Country Song and Video for “Mama’s Song” and Mainstream Country Artist. Idol Headlines for 08/01/11

Twitter reports suggest that Carrie Underwood and Tony Bennett are filming their duet for the CBS season premiere of Blue Bloods today. The duo recorded “It Had to Be You” for Bennett’s upcoming duets album, to be released in September. Bennett tweets a photo of him and Carrie on the set today.

Tommy Boy and Black Hole Recordings present a set of hot remixes to American Idol’s Blake Lewis new single. “Till We See the Sun” is the follow up single to his # 1 Billboard Club Chart topper “Heartbreak on Vinyl.” Download the EP at Beatport.com. The EP will be available for download on iTunes on August 16.

Nigel Lythgoe tweeted, “About 8 very good performers this afternoon and quite a few with a lot of potential. #AmericanIdol auditions again tomorrow.” (American Idol producer round auditions are taking place in Denver)
