Jennifer Lopez Reportedly Signed a 20M Deal with American Idol

Jennifer Lopez reportedly closed on a deal to judge at least one more year on American Idol. Does anybody care? The Wrap reports:

Fear not, Jennifer Lopez fans: the singer is returning to “American Idol” to judge for at least another year, TheWrap has learned through two individuals familiar with the deal.

The pop star will be returning to the singing competition with a contract with the Fox Broadcasting Network that’s “a smidge over” $20 million, according to one of the individuals.

The report goes on to say that the deal is complete, but has not yet been signed.  But wait. Another source says a deal is NOT in place.  But others disagreed.  The Wrap report is a little confusing, but it appears they got conflicting sources, but decided to go with the juicer lead.

If the 20 million + salary is accurate, it will be a significant raise from the 12 million she earned for Season 10.

The next hurdle is scheduling. One of the sources says that Jennifer is going ahead with two movies– the romantic comedy What to Expect When You’re Expecting, set for a May 2012 release, and the thriller Parker, currently in pre-production, “which will most likely necessitate a shift in audition dates for the upcoming season, ” according to The Wrap.

Jennifer plans to continue with the talent-search series Q’Viva! The series will feature Lopez and her soon-to-be ex-husband, Marc Anthony traveling Latin America in search of the hottest vocal talent in the region.
