Billboard Music Awards Tonight

Billboard Music Awards Tonight

UPDATE: Carrie Underwood WON in all her categories tonight–Female Country Artist of the Year, Female Billboard 200 Albums Artist of the Year, Country New Artist of the Year, Country Album of the Year, and Album of the Year.  Only Album of the Year was presented on camera.  A rather stoned-looking Paula Abdul presented the award…

Not sure who is hosting the Billboard Music Awards (8 pm EST, FOX) tonight after Paris Hilton recently pulled out, (didn’t like jokes that snarked on her fellow IT girls).  But I do have a list of some of tonight’s featured performers:  The Fray, The Killers, Gwen Stefani, Janet Jackson, Ludacris and Kid Rock.

Idols are currently all over the Billboard charts, so it stands to reason they’d be representing at the awards tonight.

Carrie Underwood, who won two awards at the CMAs recently (Female Country Artist, Horizon Award), hopefully has room on her mantle for more.  She is nominated for Female Country Artist of the Year, and her album “Some Hearts” is nominated for Country Album of the Year and Album of the Year.  Good luck, Carrie. Here’s a list of nominees.

Idols Chris Daughtry and Katharine McPhee will be on hand to present awards.  And, it appears that several Idols are in Las Vegas for tonight’s show.  Paris Bennett, Jon Peter Lewis,  Lisa Tucker and Ace Young appeared at a press junket yesterday, and may be sitting in the audience.  I’m sure I’m missing some.  If you have an Idol Vegas sighting–post it in comments.
