X Factor 1 alum, Astro drops a new track called “Dead Beat (Come Bad Boy)”. The new “joint” is written performed and produced by the young rapper.

When is the Astronomical Kid going to break wide? I think it’s going to happen.

    It’s age-appropriate. This song is about dead beat dads. He is mostly talking about his. I really like this song. I’m not much for the beat as it is slight cheesy in my opinion. But I really love the message in the song.

    I was wondering what had happened to him. The clippety clop beat is a little distracting but this isn’t bad. Astro is a very talented kid. He may still be a little too young to break big, though.

    I don’t. He wasn’t popular enough with voters to make it past 7th place, and we have seen what has happened to idols who finished around 7th(J-Hud being the exception but it wasn’t because of idol).

    I am also not impressed with the way LA Reid has handled the season 1 contestants.

    I really like this.  Very impressive for doing it all on his own.  Whatever he officially he releases with Epic will have much slicker production.

    I’m not sure when they plan on breaking Astro but from what I gather he’s still working on his debut.  I think it got delayed a bit because he apparently landed a role in a movie that he shot this past summer.  He keeps referencing it but he has yet to say what it is.  He seems to still be working on it.  Or he might have possibly gotten another acting gig because he posted about working on a movie this week-end.

    Also, in between the acting gigs he seems to be hitting up hip hop events – largely in New York but he’s done others up and down the east coast.  I think he’s slowly building his rep trying to get grassroots buzz within the hip hop community.  The online rap/hip hop blogs seem to be talking about him.

     Yeah it’s age appropriate, as someone else said it’s about a deadbeat dad. I’m not really here for the beat but it’s a good song.

     I think he could break big though, not too many young rappers out.

    Astro is a very natural, good actor. I saw him in “Person of Interest” and was impressed at how good he was, so I think that he has a potential future in acting. I really have no opinion on any rap songs, as I don’t “get” rap and have no clue in being able to distinguish good from bad rap. lol

     Yeah, he might be able to get a Will Smith thing going on.  I’m waiting for them to revive Fresh Prince of Bel Air with Astro.  LOL.

    I was wondering what Astro was doing he dropped a mix tape then nothing. I was actually thinking they were waiting until he turned 18 so they could get into some heavier material so that if people got on his case about it they could say he was only 15 then not even an adult of course he’s changed.

    I loved this loved the beat and rap. It suddenly his me Astro reminds of a modern young Fresh Prince. Fresh Prince ( Will Smith) was known as a clean rapper. He did song called parents just don’t understand that made me think that be right up Astro’s Alley.

    Astro is multi-talented as an actor and rapper. Man, this kid is good. I can’t wait for his album to drop. He was my favorite in X-Factor last season. 

    I agree with you Fuzzywuzzy, he was great on my new favorite show Person of Interest. My dad who is not that big on rap music, loves Astro’s talent. He shows confidence on stage, and his lyrics are fantastic for a kid his age.

    Kid is good. His rap is old style, but i see coming despite that. If he doesn’t, he can have a successful career as an actor, just like P2.

    I like this.  I’m rooting for Astro-he definitely has the potential to make it big.  He’s a good kid and very talented.

    Not a fan of Astro at all, however, I always thought he was a really, really good rapper. This is good. Reminds me of late 80s early 90s rap. Good for him if he makes it in the biz!
