OMG.  Talk show host, Wendy Williams gave Fantasia a big ole lecture on her Wendy Williams Show today.  The American Idol alum wasn’t in the studio–she’s back in North Carolina taking care of a new born baby.  No, Wendy decided to dispense some tough love to Fanty via the magic of television.

On one hand,  it was totally unfair and self-serving.  Not only was Fantasia unable to defend herself, but it’s really none of Wendy’s business. Right? If Wendy had something to say to Fanty, she could have picked up the phone.

But on the the other hand? Lolz to the nth degree. Wendy says everything we’ve all been thinking. Like…girl? Isn’t it time you grow up and take responsibility for your life?

The lecture came in response to a report that claims Fantasia wants her still-married baby daddy, Antwaun Cook to marry her and/or help take care of their new baby while she works.

Watch Wendy give it to Fantasia below.  I’m sure Fantasia will respond with at least a phone call, so stay tuned.

The married man is the home wrecker.
I am not saying Fantasia didn’t make bad choices but saying she is the home wrecker smacks of sexism.
This guy wrecked his own home.

In North Carolina you have to be separated from your spouse for a year before officially divorcing. Separated there means living in separate residences and no sex with the spouse.

When these 2 met, he was 9 months into his 12 month waiting period. The court upheld that this guy and his wife had been indeed been living separately and not having sex during this time.

Now in theory a guy waiting a year to get divorced should not have sex with anyone else. But we know that is not likely to happen. People do indeed start dating before the time is up. That is why I am not quick to call her a “home wrecker”. They were well on the path to divorcing when she met the guy.

Now Fantasia shouldn’t have gone there for obvious reasons, not the least of which being she is a public figure with a lot to lose AND she already had a child, therefore a reason not to get into any messy situations. So I do think it was stupid. At the very least wait until he is officially divorced before you appear in public with him (cough, ALICIA KEYS, cough). But we all know Fanny doesn’t always make smart moves. And then getting pregnant by him after he’s still not divorced over a year later? Even in the best case scenario like the wife won’t sign the papers or something like that, it’s still a mess. Fanny’s name has already been dragged through the mud. Her career has been affected. Why in the world would a sane person get pregnant by this guy? Just ugh.

But on the other hand, so many others have done similar things and have not gotten it near this bad. I don’t even know what to think. I am just exasperated with Fanny right now.

Well, I happen to love Wendy Williams. But, I recognize that she is what she is … a gossip show host, not a moral advisor.  I watched the show today and was a little uncomfortable with her rant at Fantasia.  a. Fantasia’s child deserves to be supported by his father. Child support is a give-in, and Fantasia has every right to request it.  b.  Why shouldn’t she want him to marry her? She seems to be in love with him. She had a child with him. Now, he might not feel the same way about her. If that’s the case, she needs to dump him and move on.  c. Fantasia is not some lazy ass. That’s what bothered me the most. Wendy acted as if Fanny just wants to live off some dude. Please! This is a woman who has worked her tail off since she was 19.

Fantasia is such a talent. I really wish she had someone in her life who could give her serious guidance.  But, yeah. Wendy Williams isn’t going to cut it.

Ah Wendy!  That was all about creating buzz for your show and not about “tough love.”  Big sister to little sister indeed.  :-)

Now Fantasia has to appear at some point on her show and slap a fake grin on her face and laugh it off like it doesn’t bother her.  Well that is the southern way.  Gotta love it when some rumor from a small nothing newspaper from an anonymous member of your “camp” goes national then gets legs on the internet.

First, WENDY WILLIAMS is not the person to tell fantasia what she needs to do. If she really cared she would have called her and said that in private. Second, I am disappointed  in Fantasia  but i hope she will learn and better herself. It is really sad how she is turning out. Her music sucks but she has an AMAZING voice and she can perform like a young Patti….kinda! Third, she needs a better manager ,PR team, stylist and everything else. There is no reason why she shouldn’t be more successful.

    successful.

And she has a great, charismatic personality, if any AI winner has won for some reasons, voice, beauty, “next door” girl/boy appeal, showmanship, she has won for the uniqueness of her voice and personality shown on competition. She should have won 2 Oscars till now with a good agent or a better personal management team, with her artistic persona. I know she has had her autobiographic-movie, but a certain movie-role good for taking you seriously as a talented artist, I think her movie was taken more like a E/VH1 Behind the Music kind of work. Great she has enough success with her music, but could be more.

As for Wendy, I don’t know about her show, but I think one is to bring/discuss gossip-news in humoristic way and another as public-advice from a “big sister” through TV set. This is not so sisterly but a sign that she had nothing more “appealing” on her gossip-list yesterday or when it was recorded. I wonder if she really called her and had the courage to say her from “voice to voice” that lecture. Ha, ha, I would like a recording of the phone conversation in that show, that would be entertaining!

Wendy Williams is ghetto.  Bottom line.

On the other hand, what she said was right.  Where and how she did it was totally wrong.
