In Honor of American Idol’s 500th episode, Fred Bronson put together a list of American Idols Top 100 songs based on chart performance on the Hot 100. American Idol original flavah, Kelly Clarkson appears 18 times on the list including 6 in the Top 10. She holds the No. 1 and 2 position. Carrie Underwood appears 20 times, but lower on the chart, as Carrie’s big success has been mostly on the country charts.
Daughtry appears 10 times. Jordin Sparks 5 times. Fantasia 5 times.
According to Bronson, The franchise has produced over 375 No. 1s taking into account all national and domestic charts compiled by Billboard. So far, 68 finalists from the first 11 seasons have appeared on the Billboard charts.
