Take The David Cook VH1 Challenge – It’s Like an Election, But Nobody Has To Wear a Pansuit!

For the last couple of weeks, VH1 has been encouraging fans of David Cook to send video clips of themselves singing David’s single à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Light On.à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ 

David drops by VH1 to check out the submissions, and encourage fans to take the “Light On” challenge. Check out the videos, after the jump.

In the first video, David, ask y’all to take the challenge. “It’s like an election,” he says, “But it’s better, because it isn’t political, and nobody has to wear a pantsuit.” David, careful not to piss off his vast pantsuit wearing contingent of fans adds, “You can if you want to!”

In the second video, David displays his amazing tact as he critiques three submissions. Ahem.

    Hey, he has a major pants suit wearing fan in Hilary Clinton- of course he doesn’t want to piss off his #1 cougar! Suppose she’ll submit a video? Maybe Bill will play sax?

    Yes, David, the last thing you would want to do is upset Hillary with the pantsuit comment. It pays to have the soon-to-be secretary of state on your side. LOL. The last guy on the second video is pretty good. He needs to have a copy of that clip and David’s comments for his resume file.

    Hahaha, DC could be a guest judge on AI– great job focusing on the positive and giving constructive criticism without calling out the obvious fails haha.

    I wish he’d checked out some of the more creative ones though. My favorites, that I’ve watched include this adorable music video of this little girl and her teddy bear (and the little girl sang pretty well too!). The one that made me LMAO though, would be the kazoo girls. ROTFLMAO, it was that funny…

    He is a natural comic and quick wit but he thinks before he speaks. Seriously, he is adorable and so obviously gives positive encouragement. Also I don’t think he knows how sexy he is too. LOL.

    He was very sweet listening to these guys try to play and sing that song. And, give them credit for putting themselves out there like that. I couldn’t begin to sing Light On let alone play it on the guitar. What a fun idea. I have to also say that acoustic version of the song when David was teaching how to play is one of my favorite versions. Kind of David Cook “Unplugged”. Nice.

    The robot is really good, and inventive. David Cook as Pacman eating up the dots, hah! I really think he should get this person to make a video for him, maybe with him as various 80′s video game characters, that’ll be one fun video (for Bar-ba-sol, maybe?).

    ETA – can someone tell those of us who can’t view the David Cook clips which videos he commented on (just wondering if he has seen the robot and VerballyDyslexic ones)?
