More deets on the release of Scotty McCreery’s debut album and his upcoming music video.  The music video will debut on both CMT and GAC.  A documentary style special detailing Scotty’s post-Idol journey will debut on GAC in the fall.  You can pr-order Scotty’s CD at his website HERE.

Folks who have pre-ordered Scotty’s album tell me it’s set to ship on Oct. 4. (Lauren’s will ship on Oct 11)  Read the press release below.

It’s interesting to note that Scotty and Lauren’s initial roll out is almost identical. You can read Lauren’s release HERE.

CMT will air Scotty’s new video as part of an extended 15-minute special that includes exclusive behind-the-scenes footage from his video shoot.

CMT Premieres: Scotty McCreery I Love You This Big will debut on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m. ET/PT on CMT and CMT Pure.

GAC will air the video on Tuesday, Aug. 9 at 6:24 a.m. ET, 8:30 a.m. ET, 10:30 a.m. ET, 2:30 p.m. ET, 8:30 p.m. ET, and 11:54 p.m. ET. GAC cameras have been following Scotty since June in preparation for a new GAC special, Introducing: Scotty McCreery, which is set to premiere this fall.

As a way of saying thank you to the fans for helping him win Season Ten of American Idol, Scotty wants them to be the first to receive the exclusive details of his much-anticipated album release. To receive the breaking news about his debut country album, fans should register at his official Web site.

For this first album, we are definitely going to let the fans know first about all of the details coming out,” he says. “We want them to know just what’s happening with the album and when it’s coming out because they’re the ones who are going to buy the music and they’re the ones who have been following me through this Idol journey.”

I’m really excited to let people hear what we’ve been working on and putting so much effort and energy and time into. It’s something that I’m really proud of. I can’t wait for them to hear it! Hopefully they’ll feel what I was feeling in the studio.

Starting today, Scotty’s site is offering an exclusive album pre-order package that includes Scotty’s full-length debut album, an 8×10 photo, a personalized poster and an instant download of his single “I Love You This Big,” as well as a chance to enter a sweepstakes for an ultimate CMA Awards experience that includes a meet-and-greet with Scotty.

He recently shot his first country music video with director Shane Drake while in Los Angeles for rehearsals of the American Idols Live tour. “He was the guy who shot all of our music videos for the Ford commercials for American Idol,” Scotty says. “It was great because I already knew him and we had a good relationship.

The video was shot in an area called Angels Point. “The location for the shoot was really cool,” he says. “If you looked one way, you could see Dodger Stadium, and if you looked another way, you could see downtown L.A.”

We found this park that had a little country feel to it and it all worked out,” he says. “If I hadn’t told you that, you would think we would have shot that in North Carolina. The music video has a summertime barbecue feel, like a July Fourth party with fireworks and hot dogs and families.”

After the shoot ended, Scotty spent time with all of the video’s cast members of all ages. “They were there the whole day and helped me out in the video,” he says. “They’re going to be in my first video, so I thought it was important to thank them for being there.”

In May, the Garner. N.C. native won Season Ten of American Idol, becoming the youngest male winner in the show’s nine-year history. A record-breaking 122.4 million votes were cast for Scotty and runner-up Lauren Alaina. The final show garnered 29.3 million viewers and 38.6 million people tuned in to see the winner’s name announced.

A week later, he made country music history when his debut single, “I Love You This Big,” earned the highest debut for a new artist’s first single on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart since at least 1984. The song, which hit the Top 20 in seven weeks, is one of the fastest-rising debut singles for a new country artist in history.

He is currently featured on the American Idols Live! Tour that runs through September. He will also perform on ABC’s Good Morning America on Aug. 12.

Great timing for his album release. I think he’s going to sell a ton of albums. He’s not my thing, but it’s great for him!

  • Kylee

CMA Awards experience that includes a meet-and-greet with Scotty.

I wonder if he will be performing? That would be some great promotion.

  • Eileen99

I think he’s going to sell really well, too. Excited!

  • larc

GMA on the 12th would be a great place for Scotty to introduce a new single. Timing would be good if his album is coming out Oct 4. That would give the song 7 weeks to catch on and build an appetite for the album. But ILYTB will probably refuse to start dying in time. They may have to beat it to death with one of Scotty’s baseball bats. ;)

  • croweriver

I noticed on Lauren’s press release that she is performing at the CMA fest which is airing on Aug. 14. I don’t see this mentioned for Scotty, I thought he too was performing or are they showing a replay of their last performances in Nashville.

  • eyelinerandcigarettes

Dang, y’all so lucky! I wish I could pre-order his album, but I unfortunately live on the other side of the world.

They may have to take one of Scotty’s baseball bats and beat it to death.

    LOL.

  • Pam

ILYTB will probably refuse to start dying in time. They may have to beat it to death with one of Scotty’s baseball bats

Kind of like Magic Rainbow. ;)

This is all very exciting though.

  • Eileen99

But ILYTB will probably refuse to start dying in time. They may have to beat it to death with one of Scotty’s baseball bats.

    Haha. Poor #THISBIG.

  • croweriver

Thanks Pam missed that bottom section. I too would love to preorder but it seems that they are not shipping to Canada.

The whole show is a replay of the CMA fest in June. Scotty’s definitely on there–he’s featured in at least two of the commercials (even though you have to look very fast;).

I already pre-ordered:) Wish the international fans could, too…my one funny thought is–are they really going to sign all the photos for the pre-orders?:)

  • keware

I just tried to order Scotty’s CD and it said it was out of stock. Already?

  • eyelinerandcigarettes

Some people are saying that Scotty’s is out of stock already.

  • LexieN

Yes, the physical CD is already sold out:) I knew they had to limit how many he could sign:) But you can still get the digital version…

  • Kylee

    Out of stock already=great sign.

  • abbysee

This city girl is so excited. I can’t wait to get my hands on this cd.

Re out if stock already, kids a machine. He’s gonna sell a crap load of product. What fun it’s gonna be in the fall.

  • chessguy99

But ILYTB will probably refuse to start dying in time. They may have to beat it to death with one of Scotty’s baseball bats.

ILYTB has pretty much plateaued. The spin per station is starting to stagnate. The Country chart is probably the easiest one to go recurrent on. Just two consecutive weeks of negative spin growth and your off the chart. I expect that will happen in September and would be a perfect time to release the next single.

  • LexieN

Do you think it will be like the EP and restock? Some people on other sites are sad…

  • DMJ8321

I ordered the digital as soon as it became available and I got everything offered with the physical CD. I don’t think people realize you get the poster & picture and entry to CMA with the digital download also.

  • hoa_teca

Can’t wait for his CD to arrive ^_^

  • chearts77

I’m so excited!!! I wish I could pre-order, but alas, life called and by the time I saw this, it was already out of stock. *sigh* I guess that’s a great sign, tho. Already selling out.

  • karenc

I kind of wonder if they are considering ILYTB as the first single. They seem to be treating that and Laurens song more like the first single on the album than they have in the past few years.

  • JudyOhio

Will the preorder CDs from the website count in the first week sales totals in October? I’m having some vague memory of there being controversy on that with other idol’s CDs, whether they were included or not. Too, maybe I’m just remembering wrongly.

  • LexieN

As far as I’ve read, pre-orders definitely count…

  • JudyOhio

^^Thanks LexieN, glad that’s cleared up for me! lol

  • LexieN

    You’re welcome, Judy…

Laughing…they’ve restocked the physical CDs for pre-order:)

  • xxe

This is great !!! can’t wait for his album.. glad that they’ve restocked the cds for the pre-order..

  • rivermaya

DVR already set-up for the Aug.9 music video premier.
Happy that the CD pre-order went through.
And BIG thanks to MJ for all these deets and infos.

  • jeffreythegleek

I was at work when I saw the posts that the pre-order was sold out and was not a happy person. Don’t know how may more they added but at 9:30pm Pacific time I was able to get one. Don’t try to order two, you get an error message saying your shopping cart is too heavy. One per order. Now just two months to wait!

  • allstar

YAWWNNN. Wake me up when Haley puts out her record.

However, the one good thing about a Scotty album is it comes without the incredibly awkward eyebrow contortions, so that’s a plus.
