You’ve already watched Yahoo Music’s Lindsey Parker interview Adam Lambert (here) and Kris Allen (here). She’s interviewed the entire Top 10 and will be posting the rest of the video–one a day–leading up to the tour.

Here’s Michael Sarver, who says there are NO feuds between the Top 13 contestants, and that even though he loves R&B he’d consider recording some country music if the offer was right.

  • JustWatching

even though he loves R&B heà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢d consider recording some country music if the offer was right.

ha! Like Danny, he better take what he can get.

  • Jolene

Here’s hoping I never have to see him again after the tour is over. Part of the reason I never got into season 8 was that so much canon fodder made it to the Top 10. Sarver is only the most obvious example. IMHO, YMMV.

  • CRB

This guy is such an earnest douche. I find him almost endearing.

  • suebrody

    I want music from Alexis!!!

R&B plus Sarver equals hot mess.

  • mac

I don’t think the country community is going to accept someone that would just do country “if the offer was right”. I am a big country fan, and knowing that he did it only for the money….I would never buy his CD. Idiot.

  • Winks8

Yikes, feeling strange about my newfound somewhat warm feelings for Sarver.

CRB, I think your assessment is pretty good.

  • taks

I have never hated Sarver. I didn’t particularly care for any of his upbeat numbers (basically, everything he sang but “You Are Not Alone”), but he has always seemed like a decent guy.

As someone who listens to R&B, I enjoy his smooth R&B vocals. I think he could come out with a country/soul sort of fusion album and at least be able to make a living.

  • amiroamor

Excuse me Sarver, but YOU were the one who said you’re not a country singer. Now you wanna go country if the offer was right? Blah.

  • ruskimom

Not going to waste my time listening. Neither the interviewer or subject interests me. This time next year, Michael will be playing the likes of the Copeland Dance Hall, only a few miles down the road. LOL

  • Truthiness

    Who?

  • hardkandy

oh yeah, do it for the money Sarver! country fans will love that

  • elw

    blah

  • gingerly

Heh, I hardly think he will get any offers anyhow so it’s all academic.

  • nuttin2lose

I wonder how he feels knowing it’s Alexis that shld be there.

  • sr4mjc

Is that a bridge I smell burning? Talk about no filter..

  • Jolene

I wonder how he feels knowing ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s Alexis that shld be there.

Based on, well, everything about him, I really doubt he knows he’s walking canon fodder without a hope for an actual career in music, sitting where *many* other better singers should have been instead. He’s sort of clueless like that.

  • suebrody

I don’t care how Sarver feels, honestly. He beat out Felicia, Jesse, Ricky, Mishovanna, and others, and in a Top 24 I do not think he would have. Then again, how did Tatiana make Top 36?!

And Alexis DID deserve to be on the Tour. Stupid AI voters. :(

  • leome

I bet Adam was talking about him when he said he didn’t get along with someone from the top 10.

Good luck going back to the 374748th most dangerous job in the world after the tour…

  • JosieX

He’s a decent singer but his stage work needed a lot of development. I imagine the tour will help him out a lot with that. Seems like a nice guy, good for him for being flexible. I guess as professionals I don’t hold singers to a higher standard than I’d have for myself along those lines, as a finance professional I love doing strategic planning but I’d do M&A again if that was the best way to stay in the game. I’m not all that starry eyed about, oh he’s an artist, he’s a guy with a skill that he needs to sell, just like all of them. I wish him good luck, just as I do all of them.

I don’t agree with blaming him that Alexis isn’t there. She has a great voice and is adorable. But I think I had watched AI a sum total of 3 times when I saw Country night this year, and I knew she was going to be going home that week. It was bad, bad luck, that song didn’t work for her, the timing seemed off and she looked uncomfortable with it. But I do wish they had made it a Top 11 tour, I had hoped that they would.

  • rockvixen

I can believe there was no feud but obviously there is such a thing as dislike. I don’t believe everything was Disney with this group. I still don’t like Sarver no matter how many interviews he has and how nice he seems to come across.

  • Tess

What is it about making the top 10 that makes some of these contestants wholly dillusional. Don’t they know the odds of them “making” it in the business. There have been 80 AI top 10 finishers. Those that have made it into the top tier of the industry are a handful at best (with a few up and comers). Then you have the 2nd tier which, through amazing hardwork and diligence, make a good living in the industry, but not always with their singing voices.

Then you have the few that make a living but are really fortunate to get the occasional gig and a lot of them are still looking for the next big break. And then there are the 20 or so that we haven’t heard from since they were on tour and probably never will again. So lets see 1/10 on being famous, 2/10 on being recognized, 5/10 on making money, and 2/10 on never being heard from again.

Sarver you better invest your tour paycheck wisely. If you’ve quit your job it may have to keep your family going for awhile.

  • ewan

I watched this just to see how stupid he can get…well, he exceeded my expectation…

  • BootStar

I donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t agree with blaming him that Alexis isnà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t there. She has a great voice and is adorable. But I think I had watched AI a sum total of 3 times when I saw Country night this year, and I knew she was going to be going home that week.

    ITA.

Not a Sarver fan, but I don’t see how it’s his fault Alexis didn’t make the top 10. He just did his best each week, as did she, I’m sure. In the end, he got more votes. It’s as simple–albeit incredibly annoying–as that.

I really hope they go back to the Top 24 format next season. In the end, I was very happy with 3 of the Top 4, but I truly hated this season for the most part, especially how TPTB manipulated who made it into the Top 13.

  • bambambam

    Oh, Mikey, Mikey, Mikey…

It’s self-delusion. You can like R&B, but you don’t have the background or the ability or the vocal command to play in it.

It took really great singers like Ray Charles, Charlie Rich and Ronnie Milsap and even Lionel Richie to make the connection between R&B and country really obvious, and you just don’t have the expression in your voice to deliver the soul music you want to. It’s not in your vocabulary.

This season had the thinnest musical value on every level. The thinnest musical background on the whole among the top contestants cast for the finals, and then they didn’t get to sing but the judges got to act out like they were in a sandbox and waste time.

Next season: more music. Better music. Please.

  • iluvai

He seems like a nice guy. I hope something works out for him.

  • Mtlfan

Very nice guy! Hope he will make have his music career!

  • maracaibo

    Blah. Is right.

  • jack5791

There’s something I just never really liked about Michael. He has an okay voice and I don’t really think he is as nice as people think for some reason. I just don’t get good vibes.

I never liked Alexis all that much either but I thought she deserved the tour spot over Michael. Oh well.

  • Chipmunk

Hope he hasn’t thrown away his work overalls just yet!

And since we’re on the subject of Alexis, I could care less if she made top 10 or not, she was lousy and deserved her elimination in Country week, after murdering Jolene, a feat I thought only Brooke White had ownership of!

  • agathe.hb

when he is talking about “his” album being not a specific genre album, but Michael’s album, he is streaming Adam, fer sure :)

  • Chipmunk

He’s written over 800 songs. He can do the demos and Wiltshire Records will ship em
