Rob Thomas got a text message informing him that Kris might be singing his song. He texted back, ‘Very nice.’ 

Love “Bright Lights.” This is the type of music Kris should be putting out with his debut, for sure.

So we pretty much know Kris’ set. Heartless, Hey Jude, Bright Lights, No Boundaries, Aint no Sunshine- correct?

Every little tidbit I get makes me more and more excited about the tour. I can’t wait until next friday. I wish it was this friday. Its making to be a great show. I wonder if anyone here will be attending the Portland show. I would love a little sneek peek.

Ain’t No Sunshine sounds really, really good. So Kris is playing the piano AND the guitar on tour? Awesome.

I didn’t know about the viola. Here’s what i found on wikipedia:

Kris’ set is going to kick ass. And it’s great to hear he’s gonna be on The Tonight Show again.

But is anyone confused why that guy in the video at the end says “it was great to meet you” to Kris? Isn’t that the tour’s musical director? Shouldn’t he already know Kris? Or did that guy not work on the actual AI show — just the tour?

the tour people are separate from the AI people so that’s why =) aaron spears is the drummer for the tour and he commented on how Kris introduced himself as Kris Allen, as if he wouldn’t know who he was. hehe

I love this video and now can watch it anytime since downloading today. I like how it starts and ends and b&w. Kris sounds great on ANS. Love the “Bright Lights” spoiler. (I think I’ll be disappointed if it doesn’t happen.)

Meanwhile, I think someone else has commented on this before, but Kris has great hands!!!!!

OMG, Bright Lights is one of my fave MB20 songs, and Kris is going to be amazing on it. Why can’t I fast forward time. Kris absolutely has a great set, but I am glad Kris is concentrating on giving a great show and concentrating on his album as well.

You know you are old when you fall asleep at a Matchbox 20 concert! I will never live down the shame. But, they didn’t start singing until after 10…not my fault.

This one of my favorite MB20 songs. I saw them in concert when this album came out, they are awesome live.

This is a great song choice for Kris.

Bright light is totally a song that I can picture Kris doing. Nice choice! I still cringe sometimes when Kris is singing cause he tends to tense those throat muscles so much. When he relaxes he is really good!

I loved this video, but hopefully futue videos will be longer, especially since a camera crew is with him all of the time.

I think it’s so odd that people would buy the video, and then turn around and post it on youtube, but people will do the same thing with his debut cd.

That Matchbox 20 song will fit his voice so well, if that’s what he’s singing. He really knows how to pick songs that work well with his voice and style.

I’m not really that fond of the song Bright Lights. Ain’t No Sunshine and Heartless are both angsty. I was hoping for one sweet love song. Would have settled for To Make You Feel My Love, as well, but Falling Slowly is really my favorite and it’s kind of become his signature song (along with Heartless).

Kris will probably make me like BL, since he’s great at making anything he sings his own. And his re-arrangements are often better than the originals.

Still, as an artist I hope Kris doesn’t go in the direction/style of Rob Thomas. I think Kris is more indie in his style and tastes than that.

Really?! Thanks for that info. Since he went during Jay’s final shows I was worried that he wouldn’t be invited so soon to the show in the Conan Era. I love Kris and I love Conan. So awesome!

I’ve got all Matchbox 20 CDs, as well as, Tabitha’s Secret and Rob Thomas as a solo artist. I prefer Rob Thomas w/the group. Seeing the lyric sheet for Bright Lights, although not my favorite song, made me happy. I think Kris is versatile vocally (tmDavid Cook), able to sing any genre, but Allenize-ing (tmPaula) it. I, too, like that his music choices are very contemporary and radio-friendly. I grew up with rock — my first album purchase was Alice Cooper’s Schools Out — so not cool according to my guy friends back then. I was young. LOL

Although, I loved Marvin Gaye’s What’s Going On whenever I heard it on the radio, being a rocker girl, I never thought to invest in a R&B artist. After Kris sang it, I remembered how much that song moved me and finally bought it. I, also, bought Man in the Mirror, not a fav, but Kris re-introduced me to it, gaining a greater appreciation for it, especially lyrically.

The tour should be well worth the money. (Though, I do think the price of tickets are way too expensive)

My Kris must have worked really hard. I’ve never seen more than one zit on his forehead before I’m looking forward to the long version of Ain’t no sunshine coz the AI studio version was so disappointing.

I agree that Kris’s set looks great (with the exception of NB – I’m sorry, Kris!)

But Ain’t no Sunshine is so beautiful, and Heartless is a big crowd pleaser. Hey, Jude just seems perfect for him too.

I for one think it’ll be really interesting to have such a different feel to the Adam set vs the Kris one – with Adam more of an arena rock sound, and Kris more of an intimate sound – both good, and a really great contrast to end the show with!

great set Kris! so tasteful! I was kinda sure and am very happy that he’s singing Ain’t No Sunshine, I always believe that this was his breakthrough performance…and my all-time favourite AI performance! =)

Love everything Kris sings! Love his voice, his personality, his musical talent, his looks, but I so wish he’d wear something sharp. Hate that plaid shirt! Hate the t-shirts and torn up jeans.
