Wow! That’s great. Goes to show that the version on the show wasn’t a fluke. They should have him forget “No Boundaries” and promote “Heartless”. LOL. Yeah, I know, they can’t do that.

They should put Heartless in his solo album along with No Boundaries like Elliott did with A Song For You. They’re two of the songs I have on repeat on my iTouch.

That was sweet! Kanye is the winner in all of this because he benefits from people liking this acoustic version instead of his autotuned and soulless one.

Kris’ version of Heartless is holding strong at #4 on iTunes! Most of the Idol songs have been falling slowly throughout the week (no pun intended) but Heartless has held on to #4. No Boundaries is also doing really well at #2 (I wish it could have stayed at #1 and held off the juggernaut that is Boom Boom Pow, which is one of the only songs that has worse lyrics than No Boundaries, lol jk).

Aw, he messed up on the words but at least he picked it up and the words still made sense. The lowered key made it sound quite different, a little more Latin-flavored, if you ask me.

I don’t think Kanye talked about it but he did feature Kris’s performance on his blog and the comments were very positive. I don’t think Kanye would’ve put it up there if he thought it sucked.

I think Ellen usually has one performance and then tells people to go to her website for the 2nd one. I’d guess they’ll show Kris singing NB and tell people to check out Heartless on the Ellen site.

I’m glad he got to perform another song besides NB. I know Kris is better than that, but if that were the first time I’d seen him I’d honestly be wondering how the heck he got to be the American Idol. While I agree that I don’t think “Heartless” is as spectacular as the hype, it shows him more as a musician, which is really where his strength is, and would hopefully help better explain his win to non-viewers.

Now THIS is awesome. Go Kris! I’m firmly in the camp that this performance is what pushed him over the edge and won him the competition.

This is a great performance. Goes to show that you don’t have to have a ridiculously huge voice to be the American Idol. I’m glad a different type of singer won this season.

I know Ellen loved Kris’s performance of Heartless. She was telling that to Jamie Foxx when he was a guest. I’m thinking that was a special request from Ellen to perform that because who would want to turn her down? =)

I really want him to do an acoustic version of Heartless on his record as well! It was seriously one of the top moments of the entire season. Second was the first performance of Mad World by Adam.

I got the mp3 of the acoustic performance from the show off of Rickeys. I probably will end up buying the studio version, but I don’t love the arrangement. I mean–there are violins on it.

Kris sounds incredible doing this song. I hope he’s able to use this success to help figure out the right sound for his CD. I really hope/pray he doesn’t end up with a lame rhythmic dance/pop album.

Another great performance, showing that Kris has vocal chops dammit! Loved it. But the guitar sounded funny, a bit out of tune or something? Didn’t sound like a “broken in” guitar….

I’m happy Kris won, he is so humble, kind, and funny in interviews, and gives Adam all the compliments in the world. Our little dark horse that screwed over the preordained, overrated favs of TPTB. haha. I hope this and NB are shown on TV.

wonderful, Kris. off to watch this again. when this airs it’s going to be in my dvr for a long while. i’ll just watch it (and the amazing version of the sucky no boundaries) whenever i’m having a bad day.

Eh, that’s okay, there is a buzz for a reason and I personally get it.

I love his version of heartless.He made me really love the song and his studio one is on repeat on my ipod.So is NB.I love him for making the worst song very or sorta good,

I really liked Kanye’s version but Kris’ is the definitive version of this song. I can say that for very few Idol performances ever. More than any other factor I think it won him the show.

Nice guys finished first and second… and a pretty nice girl finished (unfortunately) in fourth. I just loved the three of them, they made the season.

I floved it too! I have liked Kanye’s version since I first heard it, but now every time I here Kanye’s version on the radio I hear Kris’s in my head. It is amazing how Kris was always able to take a song and make it completely his. Even a current song that is still played on the radio and the artist was even on the show.

Kris has been my favorite this whole season, but I was positive that Adam was going to win. I am so excited that my favorite won for once. Now I just hope that they promote him as much as they promote Adam! If they do this right, they could end up with two very successful artists.

I like both versions. I think its cool that Kanye posted Kris’ version on his blog. People give him shit for being a jerk, but I still like him.

love love love heartless of kris! it is so amazing! this is the beauty of a kris allen performance, it’s so pure, sincere and beautiful!

We just got home from a camping trip where we had no media access. Still, all weekend Kris’ live (from AI performance) “Heartless” has been replaying in my brain like a lovely earworm. And here I find yet another awesome live performance and yep, for me this was a moment and I really agree with those who said this is what won him the crown. Just great.

As for his version No Boundaries, crappy material to begin with but he really did it justice. This kid has a great recording voice.

beautiful, just wish the studio version was stripped down of the background music . grrrr. im guessing when they recorded this on monday (prior to tuesday’s top 3 show), producers didnt think an acoustic version would work as well….honestly, cant really think of a reason they added the xtra instruments. this version right here is amazing…and would sound great on the radio

I like this version better too! Kris does things best when he strips things down (music I mean! Music!). Still isn’t that impressed with Kara’s lyrics though.
