Kree Harrison Coronation Song “All Cried Out”: Songwriting Credits! (UPDATED WITH LYRICS)

AMERICAN IDOL: Kree Harrison performs on AMERICAN IDOL Wednesday, May 15, (8:00-9:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. CR: Ray Mickshaw / FOX. © Copyright 2013 FOX BROADCASTING.

In a somewhat surprising development given her songwriting history (and the availability of a great song that Kree cowrote), Kree Harrison’s coronation song “All Cried Out” is a song cowritten by Katrina Elam, Gordie Sampson, and Steve McEwan.

All three songwriters are big time within the country world, and lean towards melodic and emotional country/pop. Katrina Elam is a former artist (who was signed to Universal South) with a big old voice, and cowrote Carrie Underwood’s “Changed,” as well as the Eli Young Band single “Say Goodnight,” the Rascal Flatts duet with Natasha Bedingfield “Easy,” Reba’s “I Want A Cowboy” and several Hunter Hayes cuts (including “Love Makes Me” and “Rainy Season” as well as “A Thing About You” from Hunter’s upcoming re-release Encore). Gordie Sampson cowrote Carrie’s #1 hits “Jesus Take The Wheel” and “Just A Dream” plus Carrie’s “Someday When I Stop Loving You” and “This Time” and Lauren Alaina’s “Wildflower,” not to mention Hunter Hayes’s 1st hit “Storm Warning.” Steve McEwan is another established Nashville hitmaker who cowrote Carrie’s “I Know You Won’t,” “Just A Dream,” “What Can I Say,” “Someday When I Stop Loving You,” and “This Time,” Lauren’s “Wildflower,” and more (including Keith Urban’s “Only You Could Love Me This Way” and many Tim McGraw cuts).

It’ll no doubt raise some eyebrows that fellow finalist Candice Glover cowrote her coronation song while Kree did not. But could it be an indication that TPTB feel “All Cried Out” is a slam dunk for Kree not only as a song, but as a single to country radio?

Kree Harrison 2nd song, Season Finale… by HumanSlinky

Kree Harrison – “All Cried Out”

They say when the last year comes
You can tell by the way it falls
It’s like seeing everything for the first time again
It’s not like the pain is gone
Just hurts a little bit less
You know you’re going to cross that line
Who knows what you’re going to find
It’s only a matter of time in the end
I’m all cried out
Ready to run like a river
But it’s empty now
And the only consolation is that
I can lie here in this bed
And put these memories to rest somehow
‘Cause I’m all cried out
I never knew I had the strength
‘Til I finally hit the ground
Now I have to make a choice to get up
Or stay down
For crying out loud
I’m all cried out
Ready to run like a river
But it’s empty now
And the only consolation is that
I can lie here in this bed
Ad put these memories to rest somehow
‘Cause I’m all cried out
And the only consolation is that
I can lie here in this bed
Ad put these memories to rest somehow
‘Cause I’m all cried out
I’m all cried out

And to Candice Glover’s Single, “I Am Beautiful”

Candice Glover – “I Am Beautiful”

You say I sound silly when I laugh real loud
Talk about my day and you tune me out
You keep telling me lies to make things worse
But I don’t hear you
‘Cause I’m listening to his words
And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
I am beautiful
I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful
You say I’ll never be good enough
Knock me down
Won’t help me up
And you always say the right thing to make hurt
But I don’t hear you
‘Cause I’m listening to his words
And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
I am beautiful
I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful
And I deserve better things
He says he understands
I got to do whats right for me
And he says I am beautiful
And when I fall
It don’t matter that I’m not perfect
I am beautiful
I’m not alone
And in his eyes I’m so worth it
I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful
He says
He says
I’m beautiful
And I’m worth every tear
And every scar
And even when you say I’m not
He says I’m beautiful
