I am pretty confident “Heart”, a seemingly “new” song from Jessica Sanchez, was recorded pre-Idol, but her fans seem to be enjoying it nevertheless.  For them, the wait for new music from the big voiced singer, who was crowned American Idol 11 runner-up in May 2012, has been a long one.

The good news is that the first real single from Jessica is just around the corner.  The  soon-to-be-Glee star filmed the music video for “Tonight” with Ne-Yo (who is featured on the tune) in Los Angeles on Friday. And according to Hits Daily Double, her highly anticipated debut album is due on May 7.

In the meantime, listen to “Heart.”

    That’s what I figured. I did a search on the guys name and he’s some You Tube dude. 

    Probably somebody Jessica met pre-Idol and she recorded his song for whatever reason.

    The song in no way fits the standards of a major label debut from an Idol runner up. Jessica is working with real pros now.

     it’s a real beautiful song . it has a real throwback feel to it.

    And that’s what Jessica’s got to watch out for. That’s one of the things that sunk her on AI – she sounded old fashioned sometimes.

    She’s got to find a way to use that big voice in a modern way. Doing a Whitney Houston in this day in age isn’t going to work. She’s working with Ne-Yo, so that gives me hope.

    I think this song was recorded way back 2011? Did you notice her vibrato is still to much, if you listen to Jessica right now, She already reduce her vibrato in every performance, Lastly this is not the only old video or gig that was posted recently, there’s a lot.

    Agreed to a certain extent. But it didn’t get her the win and it certainly won’t get her any radio hits.

    I hope Jessica stays away from these types of songs. Yes, she has a great voice, but its a song that just never ends. There is no hook to the song, it just keeps going nowhere.

    If Jessica had been born 50 years earlier, she would have been a great star just doing what came naturally.  Today, she has to change who she is to make a buck.  Sad.

    Her voice is special, you can hear that in almost anything she does … This song isnt really my cup of tea, and I hope this older because the vibrato is just too over the top for me. Hopefully her vocal coach will get her to pull that baby back a bit ….

     David Choi is the writer, and has a huge following on Yotube himself (lol I’m actually a subscriber prior to this song) I don’t think he recorded/produced it.

    Someone on IDF:
    “When Jay did the song live at MYX in Aug 2011 she asked Anthony Balmeo
    to play guitar for her. He was unable to be there on the day, so he
    recorded a guitar track for Jay to use.

    In Oct 2012, Anthony tweeted that he had officially just laid down a
    quick guitar track for Jay. He doesn’t say the title but it could well
    have been Heart”
