Billboard has published all the 2008 year-end charts on their website. For now I’m going to pull a few items to feature on the front page.   I’ll compile the complete list this weekend.

ETA: Here’s the chart for 2007.   Daughtry and Carrie Underwood ruled.   Quite a few #1s for both of them…

    Congrats to Jordin. I am so glad that she’s had such a good year and gained so many fans. She might have started a bit slow out of the gate, but her album has some legs and her singles do to. Good for her. She’s now another AI winner paradigm or model to compare future peeps against. Her success and path look different from Kelly’s and Carrie’s but just as valid.

    It’s times like these that I really, really regret that they never released the sales numbers for the Idol contestants from the season. It would be very interesting to see how some of the biggest songs from the Idol season stack up against the other songs this year.
