IMO- Why aren’t they practicing. Weren’t they all very below par last week? Aren’t ratings going down? Hey stupid producers- grow a little common sense and stop making them do all this bullshit. And they spend all day sunday shooting a Ford video thats 30 sec long and nobody cares about? ugh. This show, this show.

I don’t have a problem with it other than my favorite isn’t there. I’m sure a little publicity is good for the show and it gives them a new experience.

After I finish supporting Jason this season, I’m done watching this show.

I saw these pics a few minutes ago and they are adorable! Looks like they had a blast. They all deserve a little break from their hectic schedules once in a while.

I think the pictures are cute! Although there are a few while they’re at the show “Love” where they are all sporting unfortunate hair do’s! LOL. It must be humid in Las Vegas. Either that or they went right from kissing dolphins to the show.

*ahem!* I like the Ford videos – and from the way the contestants laugh after watching it during the results show, even knowing of the impending doom about to befall one of them, they must as well.

Nice picture…but agree these guys should be practicing! We want to see a good show this week and not just see video footage of cute guys kissing dolphins!

I hope FOX knows that not everyone is buying their Paula cover-up (okay, had to get the subject back to that..ha)..

You can only practice so much. That and the recordings probably takes a lot out of their voices.

I am glad that they have some down time. At this point is when the vocal stress becomes more evident so any respite from that is okay in my book. They are human beings, not machines.

Paula is not to fault in the ratings decline. I believe that statistics are showing that once Sanjaya was booted last year, the ratings took a nosedive. I don’t know if that is true, but this isn’t on Paula for sure. If anything it’s the restrictive and archaic themes right out of the box. That must change, or we wont see an idol 9, or certainly no idol 10.

I agree. I think these guys need some down time. It’s okay to have some fun – and it looks like they are!

Shore leave is good for the soul.

Their schedule looks exhausting and they’re always being pushed and pulled in one direction or another. They looked like they had fun though. Who wouldn’t want to play with dolphins? I would love to do that.

It’s so nice to see them having fun. They all looked like they were genuinely having a good time…I mean it’s dolphins, come on! Hopefully getting away from the pressure in Hollywood will be refreshing and re-energizing so that they will be ready to go for Tuesday!

Plus, those pictures with the dolphins are adorable.

David C looks pretty pale and exhausted too. They need to let these people get some good rest. Oh – David A – you need to take some “dressing cool” tips from David C and Jason – untuck that shirt.

In this interview, DCook says they get “perks” every time they make it through another round. This was one of those perks. Probably did them a world of good….

There must be some financial tie-in with The LOVE Show and Idol. Maybe, a trade -off to get the Beatles tunes. It’s never as simple as some shore leave for this show. I don’t remember the final 4 being “taken” off the reservation unless it was mentor related. Usually the perks are not so public.

I feel like the producers are more into promoting The Beatles than American Idol this year.

I’d prefer that to the myriad of mentors they had last year. That was way too much, and the show got lost in the fray.

I agree. This doesn’t look like a break. With all the posing for pictures, it looks like another PR/shilling event. It’s like when they give them movies to watch on the plane for the “home” visit. It’s not for them to relax with, it’s so they can promote the movie. It just means that they get less sleep on the flight because they have to do their shilling homework and watch the movie whether they are in the mood for it or not. Still, dolphins and Cirque are more fun than some of the other things Idols have had to do.

I have had the amazing experience to see The Beatles LOVE and I can’t even express how PHENOMENAL that show is, and even though they probably should be practicing this is such an amazing experience that I’m glad that they got to enjoy it, particularly ARchie. Anything that helps that kid appreciate the Beatles is fine by me.

And even though they had to go, I must say, at least it is some time to sit back and really enjoy something so fantastic.

Really, really amazing show, and I highly doubt it felt like a chore to any of them, or another thing they just HAD to do.

I know for myself it just FLEW by and I would pay the money I spent in a heartbeat to see it again.

ETA: NO FAIR. I stayed at the Mirage and went to the Dolphin Sanctuary and I didn’t get to kiss any Dolphins, just look at them. Guess that is one of the perks of being a pseudocelebrity. Shucks. Thought those pictures of them kissing dolphins were too cute though!

I went to Love last year and did not like it, although I loathe all things Cirque du Soleil. I mean it’s entertaining the first time they do a trick but they just do it over and over and over again. It’s boring. “O” at Bellagio was worse IMO though.

They need a break. SallyS: I haven’t been to Vegas, haven’t seen Cirque du Soleil and I take your word for it. That whole act seems to be over-hyped. Let’s hope Syesha is feeling more love now.

We went to Love shortly after it opened. It was my first Cirque du Soleil show and thought it would be a good one since it’s lighter on that acrobatics than most. We enjoyed it thoroughly and I know my boys would if they’d been there. You have to be a fan of Beatle’s music and the rest is just fun.

St.Lucia – we went to the Dolphin Sanctuary, too, and dern it, no kissing of the dolphins! I think that should be included for all guests, pseudocelebrity or no. lol

Shilling aside, they DID look like they had fun.

I haven’t been to Love yet, but adored Zumanity when I saw it a few years ago. Just soo beautiful. I guess Cirque is like Opera – you either love it or hate it. And having had the misfortune to catch a pale imitation on a cruise once – well, let’s just say my appreciation for the real deal went up a thousand fold. heh. Being a mad Beatles fan, I’m guessing Love will be perfection for me.

After the year the Dolphins had, I am surprised anyone would to have their picture taken with them. They won one game the whole year.

I support the vocal rest but not the shilling. Shilling without vocal rest would be even worse.

I don’t get defensive often (or at all), but I have to emphasize this time that that was not even about “Jason, Jason, Jason” for me. If that were David A’s arm (Cooky “was trying to break so Archie couldn’t play the piano on Tuesday”), I would still have wondered what happened.

Cooky is not my favorite but I do like him and think he deserves to win. I also am probably in the minority of the JC fans who wish Jason had already gone home or is already headed home next.

Yes, they were probably just goofing around.

I dont know if anyone can tell, but, I am a big Jason fan and even I have been getting tired of hearing about that.
