See the Season 11 Top 10 on the American Idol LIVE! Tour 2012 at Nassau Coliseum in Uniondale, NY.

Haley Reinhart will perform at What’s Trending show in  Los Angeles, CA.

Spotted:  Season 7 alum, Josiah Leming and Season 10 alum Jacob Lusk at the Key Club in Los Angeles for the Casey Abrams concert. He covered “Rock With You” by Michael Jackson.

Haley Reinhart: From Fashionable Idol to Fashion Icon – Haley Reinhart was a stunner from the moment she graced the “American Idol” stage in Season 10. (Remember how she werked that “Rhiannon” wind machine? And how she managed to look graceful even when she totally tripped in Zeppelin-inspired platform heels?) And since leaving the show and recording her debut, Listen Up!, she has adopted a pinup-perfect signature style that completely complements her album’s retro soul sound. – Watch the Video at Yahoo Music

Jennifer Hudson & Katharine McPhee “Smash” It Up in NYC – Putting in another day’s work, Jennifer Hudson and Katharine McPhee headed over to the United Palace Theater where they filmed scenes for “Smash” in Uptown Manhattan on Tuesday (August 21). While Miss McPhee made no attempt to hide her sexy black romper costume, her “Sparkle” co-star covered up in a robe as she made her way out of the dressing room trailer. – See the Photos at Celebrity-Gossip

Taylor Hicks in Las Vegas – Looks like new Bally’s headliner and “American Idol” Season 5 winner Taylor Hicks will be staying on the Strip a lot longer than planned. He’s confirmed that he will be the guest entertainer at the Sept. 20 Las Vegas Hospitality Association’s 2012 Distinction Awards celebrating its 50th anniversary. - Las Vegas Sun

JULIET SIMMS WORKING ON NEW RECORD! – Juliet has a killer sense of style, a powerful voice to match and is currently working on her debut solo record. I got the chance to chat with her backstage at The Grove during The Grove summer concert series presented by Citi. I was so excited to meet Juliet, and I had a blast hanging out with her! – Watch the Video at The Insider

Leona Lewis’ leading man for her new music video is ‘Teen Wolf’s Colton Haynes. Good catch!

They are filming the music video today.

I hope he does become a staple in Vegas–gr8 way to make a fantastic living doing what he loves.

However, comparing him to Sinatra is a little over the top for me. Very few singers are in the same league with that guy. Also, IMO he appeared on Broadway–i wouldn’t say he conquered Broadway. To me, conquered Broadway would describe performers like Nathan lane, Alan Cumming, Bernadette Peters etc,etc

Apparently a music video is being released today from David Archuleta’s album:

David Archuleta ?@DavidArchie Today might be a good day to release a music video off the BEGIN. album! What do you guys think? (ks)

Heard unofficially that its for “Everybody Hurts”. Not sure if they pre-shot some footage with David before he left or if it will be all hired actors in the video.
Supposed to “premiere” on YT between 7-8pm eastern time.

Two concert dates for Kris have popped up on the Pollstar site.

Friday October 19 in Texas City, Texas
Friday, November 16 in Glendale, AZ

Both are shows for Tanger Outlets. These will be his 3rd & 4th shows (I think) for Tanger Outlets. I wonder if he has some sort of sponsorship deal with them or something?

There are a bunch of Tanger Outlets all over the country, so it’s possible he could be doing even more of these shows. I know the first couple concerts drew pretty well.

Not a bad start promo wise. And it’s just the beginning IMO. I can’t wait to find out what else Simon has up his sleeve for Melanie. He has his work cut out for him, but if anybody can do it, it’ll be Simon. :D

He was a big hit on Broadway, getting rave reviews and adding many thousands of dollars of revenue. If that’s not conquering his time there, I don’t know what is.

And as far as the comparison to Sinatra…. I find a lot of simiarity in their style of performing actually. Both big-voiced powerhouses. Sinatra was a staple on the Vegas strip for years and decades as was many others – Sammy Davis Jr, Wayne Newton, Elvis, Celine Dion currently, among others. He can, IMO, become one of those staples if he wants it.

Just from my point of view–a performer who conquers Broadway is the star or has a leading role in the show. They get nominated and/or win Tonys and other theater awards. Taylor’s part was a small role. I’m sure he did fine with it–but for me it’s hardly a contribution to the musical theater community.

Also, can’t agree about comparing him to Sinatra. IMO, they are just not in the same universe. I don’t see him with the likes of Sinatra, Ella F, Tony Bennett etc.

Not saying he is not a talented guy. But, I was disagree about how talented.

Melanie’s song will be used in x factor commercials?? See now that is smart. I’ve never EVER understood why Idol/Fox has not highlighted songs from Idol alums in their commercials or during the audition rounds as back up music. Yeah sometimes they’ll play something in the audition episodes but they rarely highlight idol songs in the same way as songs by other artists.

Actually, they have. Light On by David Cook was featured in one of the commercial  for Season 8, and he was in the commercial.     During the audtions for Season 8, they played A Daily Anthem, which was one of the songs on his album.  And last year during the commercials for Season 11, they played We Believe, which was a song from David Cook’s second album.

What they should do though is label who the song is by so viewers know it was from a former idol.

That is interesting that there is an article about Kris in a S. Africa magazine. I hope he gets that popular here.

Love Taylor – he was my fav his season and voted for him, but agree the Sinatra comparison is a bit of a stretch.

  • Goodvibes27

Actually I think Matt Goss (currently Vegas Headliner) is a better comparison to Sinatra Jr., and Taylor is Elvis Jr. :)
