After the American Idol show in Kansas City last night, Erika Van Pelt tweeted, “Thanks to @thedavidcook and his family for the post-show BBQ in Kansas City! Soooo yummy.” David Cook is in Manila right now for a series of shows, but his family was on hand to have barbecue with the kids.

Speaking of which, David Cook will perform tonight at the Areneta Coliseum in Manila.

“American Idol Live!” tour helps reinforce an aging TV brand – “I haven’t really felt too overwhelmed yet,” said Skylar Laine, a season 11 finalist and one of the “American Idol Live!” performers. “I’m usually just really grateful and humbled by it. The fans are intense, but they’re really nice.” It’s easy to say that now, since the tour just kicked off in Detroit on July 6, with the 1stBank Center marking its sixth stop.     As much as I think Cook’s post-Idol music is a little bit soft, he has always been one of the best human beings out there.  I was really happy when he won his season.

    Because the site you linked to is owned by a company engaged in predatory lawsuits against blogs for copyright  violations (the “violations” are people quoting from articles on sites the company owns) that the blog owners are typically forced to settle rather than fighting in court because of the expenses involved. The company in question apparently decided this was a nice little revenue stream for them, and filed these lawsuits without a prior “cease & desist” order – there was no notice whatsoever. The company went after MJ a couple years ago. You can read about its practices here.

    yeah, it’s bad enough that people like David Cook are asked about her, but at least they have the Idol connection and there’s a good chance the ex-Idols will at least know who she is. But why would Nikki Minaj or any artist with no connection to Idol have any clue who Jessica is?

    Today I’ve seen an article about the winner of X Factor Slovenia, Demetra Malalan. She won the show less than a month ago and released her debut single a week after. Her debut album is expected later this year I think.

    She is on vacation in the USA right now. Supposedly she joined summer camp where she will get vocal coaching. She is signed to Menart Records (Slovenian and Croatian record label, they are in charge of X Factor and Got Talent releases from the UK too.) and the label posted Demetra’s picture from Los Angeles. She was standing on Nat King Cole’s star.

    Menart Records have two X Factor Slovenia finalists on their artists page: Demetra and Alma Merklin (4th place finisher). They released their debut singles immediately after the show.

     I wouldn’t have really banned you…I was kidding.

    But I had such a horrible experience with that company two summers ago–I was forced to pay them a lot of money, just because I posted an article, with a link back to them, on my blog.

    I can’t stand the thought of sending them even one click of traffic.

    An interesting “shout out” for James on those videos–James did a nice “save” by passing it on to Jeff.  Heidi, I think that’s a compliment for you too!  Hope this weekend is great–James & the Diehards (anyone know if that name is sticking yet) are sounding good.  Somebody give them some cooler temps though!!!  What’s the temp going to be for KC??  …….Funny too about making so much noise—

    That was so nice of David’s family to do the BBQ outing for the kids again this year.  They have done this consistently since season 7 tour.  It’s nice to see how warm and welcoming his family is each summer to these contestants when they really don’t have to this at all.

    First, I’m going totally into “I don’t care about the music” and say that CaseyJ with his blond curls and then his dark beard is totally HOT.

    Cough.

    Just sayin’.

    And second, more importantly, CaseyJ is so incredibly easy, articulate, funny, good promoter… compared to the deer-in-the-headlights guy he was coming off AI. The guy is stellar now at making the reporterette swoon.

    LOL.

    I wondered if that was true -or just a publicity stunt – they have been begging for votes and then today they said they won – this is the station that added WTT and only played it twice.
