Oh this is how Cookie dressed almost every day before Idol(a dozen of black Ts kinda guy), imagine that, LOL. I certainly hope he has nothing to do with Archie’s stylist if he has one. If anyone puts Cookie his Virgin Store outfit I may fly to America and beat that person up.

I had no idea a woman interviewed him, that writing style is…interesting.

Actually, DC’s been pulling that hairstyle for a while. Then, it popped up on DA in the Las Vegas shots from during the show. Seriously, the pictures from that particular event made the Davids look like brothers with the same hairstyle. Heh.

I don’t know who else watched Can You Duet?, which was also a 19 show. But they were restyling one of the finalists in a way that was so DC that it made me snicker. Pointy hair? Check. Bling? Check. Shirt, vest, and tie with jeans? Check. I swear, one more week of that show, and he’d have shown up sans soulpatch with newly grown scruff. After watching that, I decided that some hairstylist connected to 19 decided to see if s/he could create a trend of pointy hairstyles.

I did not know that Archie’s signature style was a plain shirt, jeans and sneakers. Apparently, I am copying Archie today, lol.

I really hope this article doesn’t make the rounds too much–the author assumes far too much and inserts his own biases into the article. Jeff has said the opposite of what this article is saying (just yesterday in fact). Both David and Jeff have had a hard enough time without random folks from their past trying to shed light on issues they don’t know much about.

Yeah, the author doesn’t sound like she/he been in recent contact with the Archuletas lately.

Thanks for that, cheese! Slightly confusing review– praising the songs’ melodic sheen in one breath, then saying if anything Bar-ba-sol and Mr. Sensitive could use some more sandpapering around the edges… so is she saying certain songs have a melodic sheen but those two were rougher and don’t? WTF is a boogaloo?

Anyway, I guess it’s not a bad blurb review. And whatever she meant, I did get disproportionately excited that she’s lumping Mr. Sensitive with Bar-ba-sol. I flove Bar-ba-sol, and am happy that we might be getting more of that kind of “rougher” song than the snippets have indicated. Also, I like the picture. Haha.

Reviews are out(as lame as it is…I don’t mean the grade, it’s just poorly written). Doesn’t that mean the album will leak any minute now? No?

All in all, it was a pretty positive review—according to metacritic, this is the equivalent of 3 stars out of 4. It sounds like his “husky, expressive” voice gets highlighted, which was one of the things that I know that I’d hoped for, especially once Rob Cavallo signed on as producer. (Yeah, there was that factual error of citing the Hinder guy, who was a co-writer on one of the two songs that DC didn’t write, but….) I wish that she hadn’t felt the need to bring in Daughtry, but given the AI context, that sort of thing is inevitable.

Also, the same woman reviewed Nickelback’s CD and gave it a lower rating and was much more negative in her description. So, yeah. I’ll take it.

They extrapolate based on the first day of sales. I don’t know what formula they use, but most of the time they’re pretty close.

I think the boogaloo comment is a reference to an 80s breakdancing movie actually! There was a movie called “Breakin’” and then the sequel was called “Breakin’ 2: Electric Boogaloo” – thus the “Daughtry 2: Post-Grunge Boogaloo” comment. I’ve never seen these movies, but only know this cause my aunt mentioned the movie once and I thought that title was too hilarious not to remember!

That’s exactly what it is (I’m a child of the ’80s so I remember the Breakin’ movies-my youngest uncle and cousin used to pretend they were Turbo and Ozone :laugh_tb:).

Looks like a great opening week for Archie! Good on him-I’m really rooting for him to pull a Jordin and prove all of his naysayers wrong. Number two seems to be Archie’s number. Not surprised by T-Pain’s estimate, never expected him to pull in huge numbers even though he’s a hip-hop artist. I’m happy with the B review for Cook’s album from EW. I don’t care about the Daughtry 2.0 references-as long as his album is well received by the music buying public and sells decently, I’m happy.

Well, the way my bro bizarrely got those albums would explain why they secretly sold so much. He’s nicer than me he said “it’s actually good if you only listen to it once.”

UPDATE: The woman has been identified as Paula Goodspeed, who auditioned for American Idol’s Season 5 in 2006. During her audition she said she’s an artist and the first pic she ever drew was of Paula Abdul. “I make life-size drawings of Paula,” she told Ryan Seacrest.

UPDATE: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that Goodspeed overdosed in the exact same area around one year ago.

Yeah, Cook should be happy with a “B” from EW. That actually makes me feel a tad bit better about the C-plus they gave Archie’s album, since they have a long and distinguished history of hating anything and everything about the kid.

Archie is going to be at an event with Delilah? That’s kind of awkward for a young teen. She’s the syndicated radio host that plays the cheesy love songs. However, she has a very large radio audience, so hey, I’m not gonna complain too much. Plus, David will get to see his buddy Wayne Brady again. The lineup is quite interesting to me because several of them are amazing vocalists and David will fit in quite well, IMO. Ironically enough, I’ve always thought David’s voice reminded me a bit of a young Michael McDonald.

Supposedly DAvid will be performing at the hard rock cafe in times square on jan 12th..

Now I have the Delilah theme song in my head…

She’s never once played Crush so I don’t know why David is all of a sudden at her Adult Contemporary Thanksgiving Day bash, but I’m sure it’ll be fun for him meeting all those folks.
