‘American Idol’ Finalist Colton Dixon Releases New Song, Looks Back on Summer Tour and Ahead to Season 12 (Q&A) – Dixon’s new song was originally slated for release next month, but perhaps the choice to put it out this week will allow listeners a certain comfort in its beautiful lyrics. Sample verses: “You are the light that’s in the dark … And when my circumstance leaves me with empty hands / You are the provider of my needs / When all my dirtiness has left me helpless / You are the rain that washes me.”
“I am glad it got bumped up,” said Dixon. “I’ve been listening to it nonstop since I got the mix back, so I’m stoked for everybody to hear it.” – Read more at The Hollywood Reporter

Aerosmith’s Carrie Underwood Duet: Did Every Member Consider It A Match Made In Country ‘Rocks’ Heaven? – Bon Jovi already went Nashville a while ago, but is the world ready for a country-fied Aerosmith? That’s what they’ll be getting with a Steven Tyler/Carrie Underwood that appears on the group’s new album, Music From Another Dimension!, due in stores Nov. 6. Steven Tyler tells Yahoo! Music that he’s certain the song will be a radio smash. But as much benefit as there might be to including a country power ballad featuring one of America’s most wholesomely leggy stars, how does that square with this comeback CD being touted as a return to seminal 1970s hard-rock form? After all, Tammy Wynette wasn’t making any guest appearances on Rocks, was she? – Read more at

L.A. Reid Hopes Britney, Demi Stick Around on ‘X Factor’ – L. A. Reid says “X-Factor” is “better because of the cast.” “The fact that we have two super stars in Demi Lovato and Britney Spears and then two truly accomplished record executives in Simon Cowell and myself. We really do know what we’re doing,” Reid told Billboard editorial director Bill Werde backstage at last week’s Billboard Film & TV Music Conference in LA. Reid, joined by his X-Factor co-star, Demi Lovato, continued to say that he hopes to keep the cast as it is “going forward.” “I’m actually very hopeful that X-Factor keeps the same panel going forward. I think that we actually suffer a little but for not having that consistency in our panel,” he said. – Read more at Billboard

Khloé Kardashian Odom Admits to “a Little Nip Action” During X Factor Debut – “I think the air conditioning is on high tonight looking at Khloé,” Simon Cowell tweeted midshow, a sentiment he actually echoed out loud in telling Khloé Kardashian Odom, in her X Factor debut, that she looked absolutely lovely tonight. But because not everyone is as hilarious as Simon, a lot of fans didn’t understand, prompting a cheerful explanation from Khloé herself. – Read more at EOnline

Cee Lo Accuser Claims Sexual Assault Went Down in Sushi Joint – The woman accusing Cee Lo of sexual assault has told police … “The Voice” judge attacked her inside a popular L.A. sushi restaurant … TMZ has learned. As we first reported, the LAPD has launched an investigation into the woman’s allegations. Sources tell us, detectives went to the restaurant last week and interviewed several employees, including the manager, to determine if anyone saw the alleged attack. We’re told the accuser is NOT an employee of the restaurant … she’s someone Cee Lo brought to dinner. Cee Lo tells us the woman’s claims are BS and that he hasn’t been to the restaurant for 3 months. Our sources say, the accuser told cops the alleged incident occurred several months ago. It’s unclear why she waited so long to file a police report. – Read more at TMZ

I’m happy that Kris is recording songs that didn’t make TYC for a spring 2013 release. I’m excited to hear them.

  • Triskel4

I’m feeling pretty tech-stupid, but I can’t figure out how to access the interview for Kris at that link.  Help…

  • Shoriagirl

Click on the arrow on the right to “turn the pages”. Kris is on page 38 – 40.

Interesting read with the Kris article.  I almost thought they were talking about someone else as I read it.

Wrote most of his first album by himself?  His co-writers and the Script will be shocked to find that out LOL

  • Shoriagirl

  • Triskel4

I assumed they were talking about “Brand New Shoes”

  • Triskel4

Thanks!  Sometimes I have to wonder about myself.  Too much multi-tasking.  Yeah.  That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

  • artemis112

Lee DeWyze’s PA concert tonight was postponed because the venue doesn’t have power yet.

  • tripp_ncwy

Kris’s tour mgr Sean tweeted earlier that he are in Mexico (Cabo San Lucas)  until Monday. He joked you could text him but he won’t text back.

  • KelseyW

That Kris interview was an excellent read!

I’m really glad he isn’t slowing down on the music front. Can’t wait to hear the Christmas songs and the songs that didn’t make “Thank You Camellia”. Perhaps I’ll finally get to hear the full version of “I’m Coming Over”(To me it sounded like it would have been a TYC song.)after all. :)

Oh, and I hope the Christmas EP isn’t his sole attempt at making holiday music because I’d love to see what kind of original tunes he could come up with.

I really enjoyed that interview with Kris. Very nice to hear that RCA came out to his concert.

This isn’t the first time he’s mentioned that he had to learn how to write with others since hew wrote his first album, Brand New Shoes, by himself.

David Cook @TheDavidCook’s We Believe played @ The Voice Germany (@ 3:00)

That same song was charting in SouthEast Asia before David released “The Last Song I’ll Write For You.”

I got sucked into listening to The Voice Germany – and they really have some good vocalists – all but one sang in English. They also played “Paper Heart” last week, but I haven’t located that one yet.

Wow, that’s great that the Tree Lighting will be streamed live.
I’ll be there in person :)

I didn’t know what to think when i read that RCA came to his NY concert. If they are friends from RCA, ok, else saying that RCA came sounds somewhat they did it in a professional capacity?

  • tripp_ncwy

They were friends & supports from the label who really like Kris and believe in his talent.

  • elliegrll

It could be both professional and personal.  Kris seemed to be well liked by some of the people at RCA, and someone believed in him enough to pick up his second option.

So, from Kris’ standpoint, he is maintaining his personal relationships with people who work for the label, while at the same time showing them that he can get people interested in his music, and get them to spend money for a concert.  It may or may lead to him getting another shot with RCA, another Sony label, a label somewhere else, or nothing at all.

  • girlygirltoo

He moved up a couple spots on that list. He was #13 last week.

  • girlygirltoo

from what I’ve heard, Kris has a lot of people at RCA who like him and believe in his talent. From all accounts, the split with the label was not messy at all. So it’s great that these people came out to the show to show their support.

  • mzhallcat

I really enjoyed the Kris article. Nice to see he is maintaining a good relationship with the rca folks. I would think that in the past few years he has made a lot of good contacts in various areas of the industry that will be beneficial to him as an independent artist.

  • mtlfan2

Friends and supports.. yes it is that. Very nice to see he has such good rapport with some people at his former label.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see him signed to a smaller label in 2013
