With 70.62% of reports in, A$AP Rocky is headed for his second number one album (is it just me, or is putting a $ in your name so two years ago?). He’s a rapper with an affinity for the symbols on his keyboard and his own stage name. “At.Long.Last.A$AP” was suddenly released last week (a recent trend) and it’s expected to move around 120K when you count all the album types. It is a follow-up to his “Long.Live.A$AP” (see what I’m talking about?) album released in 2013.
Boosie Badazz is currently in second, but BB has his “Touch Down 2 Cause Hell” in a battle with Christian group Hillsong for that spot on the final chart (I can’t make this stuff up). Pitch Perfect 2, featuring a song featuring the Sing-Off’s Pentatonix, is 4th in its third week and “Bad Blood” (a song about Taylor’s feud with Katy Perry) is fueling sales of Taylor’s album. twenty|one|pilots (now my symbols are getting a work out) are 6th with Josh Groban showing his album selling legs at 7th. Mumford and Sons and the Zac Brown Band are holding steady in the top ten at 8th and 10th.
Now 54 is 9th and it features Tori Kelly, Kelly Clarkson and One Direction. One Direction is also featured on Now 53 currently at 33. These albums always suffer once TEAs and SEAs are included. The Empire Cast is at 36th. Sawyer Fredericks was present on an earlier update on the HDD, so it’s possible he might make the final chart when singles are included.
