No wonder Lionel quit “Duets”. He’s got some major marketing mojo working for him and is living at the top of HDD chart. He doesn’t need any new duet partners. While one could dismiss his first week of topping the chart as a result of his appearing on a CBS special, the dude is still selling well weeks later. Clearly, he’s found an untapped market for 80s Pop tunes re-imagined as Country duets. Right now, Duran Duran and Madonna are fighting over the phone number for Zac Brown’s agent.
Nevertheless, Lionel is not predicted to top the final chart this week (he’s set to finish third). The chart topper is predicted to be a debuting Jack White for his first time ever. There are two Country acts also set to debut in the top 10, Lee Brice and Kip More (currently 3rd and 5th). Luke Bryan, who has been kicking around the top 10 for quite some time, is there again this week at number 9.
To match up the trio of Country artists in the top 10, there are 3 British acts. Adele is currently at second (as she often is when she’s not first or third) while rival British Boy Bands One Direction and The Wanted are currently 6 and 7. Nikki Minaj and Train complete the top 10 at 8 and 10th respectively.
Kelly Clarkson is the only solo Idol in the top 50. Her “Stronger” album is currently at 27th. She also appears on Jason Aldean’s “My Kinda Party” at 19th. Jennifer Hudson sings the title track on the “Think Like a Man” Soundtrack album at 17 and Chris Richardson is featured on a track on Tyga’s album (47). Voice judges Blake Shelton and Adam Levine (in the form of Maroon 5) are at 28 and 45 respectively.
