Those of you following my Glee spoilers should not be surprised at the official news, reported by EW, that the ubiquitous Carly Rae Jepsen hit, “Call Me Maybe” will be performed on the Season 4 premiere titled “The New Rachel”.

Darren Criss basically spilled the beans in a recent interview.

”There will be some songs that feel like this is not a surprise at all,” he said with a laugh. “Just do the math, popular summer songs, and then you hear them and you’re like oh yeah. This really isn’t shocking.”

Last week, the kids shot a group number outdoors on the McKinley High courtyard set.  A violinist tweeted that she had a “great time on set, everyone in the band was nice and Darren Criss is hilarious.”  Here’s a photo of Darren getting his hair done on set. The extra who posted the photo said, “Blaine was singing to Kurt on the courtyard.” Reportedly, it was a happy scene.

EW doesn’t reveal who will sing lead on the song, but it’s a pretty good bet the scene that was shot on August 6 with  Darren Criss (Blaine) singing lead was “Call Me Maybe.”

We knew this was coming didn’t we?

Glee Season 4  premieres on Thursday September 13.
