UPDATE: From Radaronline:

Fantasia Barrino has admitted she got pregnant by her married lover Antwaun Cook and had an abortion around the time of her failed suicide attempt, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

The American Idol winner made the sensational confession in a North Carolina court on Monday during Cook’s divorce proceeding with his ex-wife Paula.

There were rampant rumors that she was pregnant at the time…

According to CNN, Fantasia testified in her boyfriend, Antwaun Cook’s child custody case in a Charlotte, North Carolina court today.

Barrino’s controversial relationship with Antwaun Cook led his wife, Paula Cook, to accuse the “American Idol” winner of wrecking her marriage and stealing her husband.

Details of Barrino’s testimony in Cook v. Cook were not immediately available, but court spokesman Charles Keller confirmed the singer’s appearance.

Fantasia’s travails  have been the subject of her VH1 reality show, Fantasia For Real–including the Season 3 winner’s suicide attempt a few days after Paula Cook filed a child custody petition in Mecklenburg County District Court in August.

After the jump, check out a video clip of  Fantasia’s meeting with Antwaun, post-overdose,  to discuss their relationship. Ugh.

    Skank.

I clicked on it just to see if things were true to form. They are, so I will back out of this thread. I don’t care about her private life, so I don’t watch the show, or read this stuff either.

  • Miss Blue

Negativo – You never let me down, lol. I totally agree.

  • songsungblue

I don’t think she’s a skank at all. I think she’s had a hard life, and very low self-esteem. She’s musically amazing, and that’s all I care about. I haven’t walked in her shoes, so I won’t judge her.

I think Fantasia is hugely talented, and I love her latest CD. But, there comes a point when you can no longer muster sympathy for people who continue to make crappy choices and fail to extricate themselves from the shitty life-cycle they grew up in.

I have empathy for Fantasia for her difficult past, and I really did find her triumph on AI inspiring after all she’d been through. But, I can’t watch her show. And, I can’t watch the clip above. Because it makes me crazy to see someone with so much potential and talent repeat the same dumb-ass patterns. Actually, even moreso than the icky relationship stuff, what really drives me nuts about her life is her failure to dump her good for nothing, leeching relatives.

She’s made some poor choices, but I do hope Fantasia can find some happiness in her life. I don’t think she’s going to find it with Antwaun.

Love her music and I will continue to root for her success, but I have no interest in her show and watching the clip that has been posted.

    ugh

Oh ‘Tasia. She admitted she had an abortion; things are only going to get rougher from here on out. She may catch a lot of heat for this…..

  • Nina1

I don’t really get how someone having an abortion is relevant to another’s divorce. Who exactly was on trial here? Oops, wait…nobody.

  • SparklesATL

Does anyone here play Angry Birds? Her hair-do looks just like one of the pigs wearing a helmet.

  • druzilla

She was 19 when she won Idol and became a star. She’s 26 now. At what point will people stop making excuses for this person?

If she wanted to change she has had the means to do it. Instead, it’s more of the same.

I feel badly for her living child, trapped with this train wreck of an egg donor and will one day know she killed a sibling.

  • jammasta

Oh sweet zombie Jesus. Didn’t think this ish could get even crazier. Oh ‘Tasia….. I miss LaToya London.

  • gangreen29

Oh ‘Tasia. She admitted she had an abortion; things are only going to get rougher from here on out. She may catch a lot of heat for this…..

Any criticism Fantasia receives for exercising her own reproductive rights is way more disgusting to me than any of Fantasia’s cheating.

  • Niall

I’m pro-choice so the abortion is Fanny’s business, as far as I’m concerned. However, the decision to have the abortion seems to suggest she knew damn good and well Mr.Cook was not free and clear of his wife and she chose to be in a relationship anyway. If they had an above board relationship and wifey wasn’t a factor, there’s no reason to abort. She probably just made Mrs. Cook’s case against her if the wife decides to go after her.

Just can’t muster anything but half hearted pity for this pathetic girl.

  • SparklesATL

Fantasia exercising her own reproductive rights by having unprotected sex with a married man and being irresponsible and allowing herself to get pregnant is way more disgusting to me than just about anything else.

    Reminder:

We aren’t going to fight the culture wars in this thread.

  • Miss Blue

Geezuz. Negativo’s going to have to come up with a different word, cuz skank just does not do it.

For the love of all that’s holy, can this woman just STFU? How about letting some more of your dirty laundry fly around? Must be nice for your child. Or not.

Grow the F up, or shut the F up.

  • sonyab

Oh damn! This is getting worse and worse! Stay away from Antwaun Fantasia!!

  • LoveDaRocker

No one likes abortions (pro-choice people, generally, just find that the person who has to carry the baby should be able to decide).
The stupidity comes from getting pregnant. Pills? Condoms? Plan-B? Come on! She is not a naive 16 year old!
Unless … she wanted to get pregnant. I can believe that.

  • IdolThoughts

Does anyone here play Angry Birds? Her hair-do looks just like one of the pigs wearing a helmet.

I just had the biggest, best laugh that I’ve had in a long time. She looks EXACTLY as you describe. I love that game. Thank you for the comic relief!

    Carry on.

    Hi Gangreen:

I want to apologize for my ott response to your post last night and my over reacting to your point of view! I didn’t mean to judge you and I was completely out of line. :(

    Sorry!
