David Archuleta was in the audience a the “Grand Fans Day” event in Manilla yesterday, where they showed an extended trailer for Archie’s mini-series, Nandito Ako.

Wow! The actresses in this soap are in a battle-off for who can chew the most scenery. The crying! The wailing! The gnashing of teeth! It looks pretty dramatic. And what the hell? David in a bunny suit? So random. Archie talking to a dude that looks suspiciously like David Cook “You made me believe that my mom was dead…”

So much over-the-top goodness. I hope there’s a way those of us abroad can see it.

Here’s the trailer capped from UStream. The dialog is clearer, and there are shots of David’s reactions to the trailer.

A fan shot this from the audience. The trailer is a little clearer.

Thanks for brining “Wherever You Are” over. So much is going on with David it’s easy to miss stuff. This sounds like another gorgeous song sang beautifully by David. I do hope it gets released along with Nandito Ako (which I have fallen in love with) and I hope they are available to US fans. Someone mentioned David did 4 songs. Could an EP be in the works? David and Jay seems like a wining combination.

Love this by one of the producers:  Joanne Banaga, one of the mini-serye’s supervising producers, said
David had a grueling itinerary that involved taping on weekdays and
doing promotions on weekends. Yet through it all, “He wasn’t difficult
to work it. You call him at this hour or you tell him not to wrap up
yet, and even if he’s sleepy, he just sings or jogs to wake himself up. The
only challenge that came up while working with him is that you invest
in an emotion and you get to like him. He’s like a son to you. You get
attached to him. Sobra. He’s so humble that he’s not comfortable when
you try to praise him.”  Looks like everybody fell in love with David.  Doesn’t surprise me at all.

I really love his “just David” attitude. He makes it difficult to not fall head over heels for him. Does my heart good to see this nice guy succeed.

This is part of that “it” factor that David has.  Wasn’t it Simon who said, “You’re good looking, you’re likable and you have a great voice” something to that effect.  Just about everyone who spends time with him see and feel this.  Can’t help getting hooked.

David’s vocals of Nandito Ako and Wherever You Are on the talent show are exquisite, not to mention his stage presence.  He is growing into a handsome, confident, young man.

Grrrr, disappearing posts.  I don’t think going door to door leaves much room for timidity. At least not if you want to be effective. I think we will see a much more confident, out going David when he returns from his mission. I got the impression this is what he meant about being able to grow in ways he hasn’t been able to at the TV5 prescon.

He sure gonna learn something, but with the specific way this activity is ruled , i don’t expect him doing more and better that he can do from his position now …. my opinion ;) ….. i’m just glad he leaves the scene with this acting gig, that is at the end what this post is about . :)

I got it ! and i agree …. they look comfortable with each other ….what is good to capture that audience attention.

Oh man.  There’s a lot of crying on that trailer. And David Bianco looks like David Cook. Weird. Nice to see David looking so sweetly at those girls tho.

David Archuleta is really, really big in Asia, especially in my country, the Philippines. I’m a Filipino and is currently outside the Philippines. I only watch videos on YouTube and he’s really popular in Manila. The mall tours he had been in the past weeks are really big shopping malls.

His style in music is well appreciated in my country. They love him and his songs. David’s smile itself is already a talent. There’s something about him that viewers cannot resist.

I have no idea in America as I have not been there. I don’t know how American music labels work or treat artists like him. I’ve read articles though that his albums did not sell well in the States. How’s this possible in the US? David’s voice is incredible.

I’m a guy and I really support this kid. The OPM Album is a good start. I’ve heard all songs before and they’re all good. Filipinos are very proud of David A. I salute this kid for his very good rendition of the song. Filipinos were mesmerized by his soulful rendition.

His acting debut was pretty impressive. He did not disappoint us. Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore and other Asian countries are looking forward to seeing the series on their local channels.

Lastly, his auncle in the series looks like a “squeezed David Cook.” Hilarious!
