“Working with Jakob was a thrill for me,” Bowersox tells Rolling Stone. “I’ve always admired his work with the Wallflowers, and his solo material as well, so to have him sing on a very personal song that was written for my son was the icing on the proverbial sugar-free, life-affirming, validation cake. I think that parents will definitely be able to relate to the tune, ‘Stitches.’ Dylan’s performance and personal connection brought the song on to a deeper, heartfelt place.”

Sheer brilliance!! A producer who gets Crystal, and an artist who does as well. Jakob Dylan is a great complement to this marvelous song. If the rest of the album is good as the first 2 songs, it’s going to be more than epic!!!

  • Jonathan

    So beautiful it hurts.

  • revolution

Agree with Danny…This album has great potential… while her new label doesn’t have the resources JIVE had…they are putting in more effort. Now I understand, that effort probably wont match things like her video being on VH1 and CMT, but I like their enthusiasm.

  • sporkle

Wow, this is just gorgeous – so haunting and fragile and lovely. Can’t stop listening to it. Her best song yet!

Regardless of what people say about AI, IT STILL PRODUCES STARS AND WORKING ARTISTS!  I’m sure each contestant is happy they auditioned.  You can’t say that about the OTHER talent shows.

    very nice

  • Sassycatz

    Very country–ey.

  • IrisandLilies

Beautiful song and performance.  It’s as good as any duet performed by Emmylou Harris, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones or Bonnie Rait.

Another little tidbit about the latest Crystal pics. The photographer, Meg Bitton, has truly captured Crystal’s true beauty and elegance like no other photog has.

  • chillj

Yes, super, super pics of her.

  • chillj

I like this song better than the first one.  There is a country twang, and ordinarily that might put me off, but not this time.  I don’t want tidbits; I need to hear the whole album so I can buy it.

Out of the songs that I have heard versions of before, this is the one I am most looking forward to hearing how Steve Berlin has “Funked UP” Crystal tweeted that Steve Berlin “Funked UP” her songs…

    “I Am”

  • revolution

I remember people reacting to the press release thinking the album would be raw, and rushed…Sill think that anyone? To be fair the label sent out an awful press release that had things they grabbed from the announcement on the signing. The Album was almost done when that release went out.

  • CB40

Crystal’s first album is still my favorite debut from an Idol contestant, looking forward to the new one!

  • chillj

Nice.  I don’t really get the “funked up” part though, at least in this video.  I actually can’t see how it could be funked up.  We’ll see.

  • chillj

Farmer’s Daughter is one of my favorite songs of all time p and I never tire of it.

  • Jake W.

    good song

  • Niall

I’m a sucker for anything Jakob Dylan related. I hope there’s an opportunity for Crystal to do some live shows with him.

  • tierbee

Oh, now, that was lovely. Granted I’m already a Crystal fan – but looking forward to this record very much!

  • revolution

Another version of “I Am” look how big Tony is getting!

  • Caro3278sweet

The blend of Crystal and Jakob’s voices is perfection. I can not wait for this album.

  • milwlovesadam

Good for Crystal’s career, I guess. But, me no likey. Sounds like a slow burning old fashioned honkey tonk. Not in a good way. Shame on Jacob Dylan for selling out to country music.
