arrives at Fox's "American Idol" season 10 finale results show held at Nokia Theatre LA Live on May 25, 2011 in Los Angeles, California.Carrie Underwood blogged an update on her upcoming album and tour plans at her fan club and also posted on the fan club message board.

She was in Ottawa this past weekend for a wedding and loves it there. She will be writing tomorrow and Wednesday, recording a song she finds really difficult later this week (not difficult because of the notes so I assume because of the lyrics), and listening to unfinished versions of other songs she recorded. She’s excited to go to hockey games when the season starts and also that football season has started. She’s been working out a lot as per usual.

On the message board she posted that she gets what her angsty fans who are antsy for new music are saying and has thought the same things herself. But she said she needed to take a step back after 3 albums and refocus on why she’s doing this. Carrie said it has to be about the music, not the money or celebrity and she didn’t want to just release another album on schedule so she could cash in and tour and keep her name out there. She said we will not be disappointed by the new album because she’ll do it right and she’ll probably “tour her face off” in 2012.

Bonus: Check out Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood performing “Remind Me” on stage! PSYCH! It’s a Carrie hologram!

Judging from tweets at the last few Brad concerts, the Carrie hologram has fooled many a (drunk?) concertgoer into thinking Carrie was actually there. I know Brad did a Alison Krauss hologram one tour for Whiskey Lullaby, so Carrie’s in good company.

Brad & Carrie will be cohosting County Countdown USA with Lon Helton next weekend according to the CCUSA site. That should be pretty fun. There’s a new picture of Carrie & Brad with gold and #1 plaques for Remind Me there too.

I’m glad Carrie’s taking the time she needs for the next album. I think it’s a combo of her wanting more personal time to enjoy being married and grow as a person and her being tired after all of 2010′s touring. Recharging and living her life should make for a better album too, at least I hope so. I’ve always liked about Carrie that she doesn’t act like she needs to be in people’s faces all the time and also that she sees areas where she needs to improve and quietly makes decisions that’ll give herself the time and chance to get better. She’s old school through and through when it comes to that.

Very well said. I agree. I like her sound/style, I hope she mixes it up as far as lyrical content next go ’round.
