Carrie Underwood – CMA Awards 2012 – Blown Away (VIDEO)

Carrie Underwood performed an uber dramatic rendition of her hit country single, “Blown Away” ib the CMA Awards Thursday night. Watch her nail her last big note. Amazing.

Carrie didn’t win Female Artist of the Year, but there’s no doubt she can bring the vocal goods. Carrie also served double duty as co-host with Brad Paisley. Watch their opening monologue and check out the winners list HERE.

The fact that Carrie didn’t win Female Vocalist proves that the CMA’s are a bigger joke than ever before…that voice speaks for itself. :)

    Prove it in the ACMs!
    They better no joke further.
    are MUST-HAVE nominations!

Carrie looked beautiful and her voice was powerful!  I love the chemistry she has with Brad.  So happy to see Kelly and Carrie having such great success!

Voting is done by their peers – others singers, writers, people in the industry.
If that’s a joke, then all of the Country industry is a joke.

It is a great honor to be voted the best by your peers.

Carrie is so over the top beautiful and talented it’s almost overwhelming.
Kelly is so diverse and natural on stage.  She is a super talent who will be an icon for generations.   The two of them are Idol’s crowning achievements.

I didn’t like Carrie’s introduction of Kelly and Vince:
“something never seen before – and Idol and and Icon”.   We’ve seen this plenty of times on Idol finales, ie Kelly and Reba, Carrie and Steven Tyler.
Not blaming Carrie – I’m sure that line was written for her to say.

LOL. There are tons of back room politics that go into these things. Right now, they are obsessed with the Blake and Miranda show, whether they actually deserve it or not. Get a clue.

I still don’t understand how Carrie didn’t win Female Vocalist. It seems to me she is getting snubbed by the CMA’s. Not that Miranda isn’t deserving of it because she is very talented, but watch Miranda’s performance and watch Carrie’s performance. There’s no doubt Carrie blew her out of the water vocally.

I agree. Love Miranda’s songs and her spunky personality, but she is not even a great live vocalist, let alone better than Carrie Underwood. She was probably the weakest vocalist on that stage last night, after Taylor Swift and Hunter Hayes, of course. I do not get the Hayes appeal at all. Barely country, too.

It is incredibly rude of you to tell ellen8 to get a clue. Carrie won Female Vocalist 3 times. I’m sure there was tons of back room politics going on when that occurred.

I just freakin’ love Blown Away – love this and her concert performance of the song.

These things are cyclical, and Carrie has already won a bunch of CMA awards.  I actually prefer Miranda, though I know I’m in the minority here.
I really disliked Brad/Carrie’s opening patter.  I know they didn’t write it, but it wasn’t funny at all and was very disrespectful to Merle Haggard, one of music’s all-time greats.

Not Carrie’s best performance I’m afraid. Very off key in several parts
and quite screamy. She uses a very poor singing technique, by belting
from the throat and not the chest which gives her a very unpleasant
    tight throated sound.
