America’s Got Talent 9 – Finals – Results Liveblog and Discussion

America’s Got Talent 9 Final Results

America’s Got Talent begins at 9:16 ET, after the Presidential address.

America’s Got Talent 9 Final Results and Recap – Which SIX acts advance to next week’s finale? Find out. Plus, the Muppets appear, and, Jackie Evancho performs.

The muppets have taken over AGT! Miss Piggy clocks Nick and ties him to a chair. A scenario that must feel awfully familiar to the host! Sorry. Not Sorry. He finally sets himself free to take back his job. “Fifty Shades of Miss Piggy,” says Kermit. Ha. Froggy introduces the judges. “AGT’s answer to those two old dudes in the balcony….HOWARD STERN!” Cute.

And now for a long-ass recap of last night’s show. Zzzzzzzzzz.

The Top 12 are on stage with Nick, who reveals the three acts in danger. Miguel Dakota, Sons of Serendip and Emil and Dariel are on the bubble! Vote for the act that you want to save by firing up your browser and searching for “snapple save.” The voting window is already open, and will be open for the next 30 minutes. Look at the talent up on the stage! WOW. Miguel is in trouble. I have to admit I am surprised. I assumed he was a sure thing.

AGT alum, Jackie Evancho, who is 14 now, has some advice for the 3 acts on the bubble. She tells them all to always be confident in what they do…yada yada yada. Next, there’s some whipped cream sponsored after party. I want to see Christian covered in Redi Whip. Whoops. Did I say that? I think I did.

Results!

Emily West and Mara Justine take the stage. Poor kid has to know she’s gone. Emily West advances. She gives Mara a big hug. Howard gushes over Emily. He would not be surprised if she won the entire competition.

Acro Army and Blue Journey take the stage. This is another no brainer. Acro Army advances to the finale! Howie wonders how much further they can push it? “This is what America’s Got Talent is all about,” he says.

Whoa. Miguel is WAY BEHIND both Sons of Serendip and Emil and Dariel. He’s not going to survive–DESPITE getting the pimp spot! When the judges have to choose, I can’t see them choosing an act that is so behind in the vote.

Back from break, it’s Howie, the Muppets, and Rubber Chicken jokes!

Season 5 runner up, Jackie Evancho, is next. Sorry, I have always found her voice weirdly and almost creepily mature. Now, at 14, it’s less disturbing. I hope she’s taking care of her voice, and is allowed to have somewhat of a childhood. She performs “Think of Me” from Phantom of the Opera. She tells Nick that she was hit with a “tidal wave” of nerves coming back to the show, but she is very happy to be back.

Back from break, Howard Stern banters with the Muppet balcony guys. KINDRED SPIRITS. Next, Heidi and Mel B. are in the dressing room with Miss Piggy. They want to perform together. Piggy imagines Heidi and Mel as her backups. In her fantasy, they sing “It’s Raining Men.”  Campy. Heidi, especially, is giving it everything she’s got.

The next result!

Quintaveous Johnson and Christian Stoinev and Scooby take the stage. Scooby looks nervous. He should be, because Quintaveous advances.

Nest, Mat Franco, Mike Super and David and Leeman take the stage. Which magician will advance? Mat Franco heads to the finale!. Howard reminds him that he’s the only magician left. No mistakes, he says. “I think you got a shot.”

Kermit and the gang thank Nick for having them. Piggy is very disappointed that she can’t win. The muppet bits were really cute!

The Snapple Save winner is….Sons of Serendip! The group is so grateful to America for believing in them!

Now, the judges choose the final act. Here’s how it breaks down. The judges tied! The decision reverts back to America. And the act with the most votes between the two is… Miguel Dakota!

Heidi – Miguel Dakota
Mel B – Miguel Dakota
Howie – Emil and Dariel
Howard – Emil and Dariel

Advancing to the Finale

Emily West
Acro Army
Quintaveous Johnson
Matt Franco
Sons of Serendip – Snapple Save
Miguel Dakota – Judges Vote Tied – America’s Vote Prevailed
