Danny Gokey, Allison Iraheta and Megan Joy cut up at today’s rehearsal for the American Idols Live! summer tour, opening July 5, in Portland OR.

Tour Twitter Tidbits!

Drummer Aaron Spears twitters the tour schedule: Adam Lambert, Allison Iraheta, Megan Joy and Danny Gokey were on today’s rehearsal schedule. Lil Rounds, Anoop Desai and Michael Sarver rehearsed yesterday.

Aaron twitters, “Both Adam and Alison were blazing today!!! This is going to be a great summer…Everyone is so cool…”

“At rehearsal, bord with Allison and Megan” twitters Danny.   Oops, a typo! Then, like, a minute later, “I don’t know what button I hit but it posted before I could fix my typo “bored” *salty*”   Tweets deleted! Replaced with this. Danny are you reading here? heh.

Danny also says he just finished filming for the American Idol Experience Disney World attraction. Each of the Top 5 will be featured in a video…

Matt Giraud twitters, “On tour I’m doing some bluesy rock to get everyone going and you know I’ve gotta rock that piano like you’ve never seen me do on the show”   He adds, “And who knows? Maybe I’ll take it waaaaay back to some stuff I did in Hollywood week..who knows? I definitely don’t. :) it’ll be a good show.”

Meanwhile, Scott MacIntyre twitters, “In meetings… No rehearsal for me today.”   And Anoop Desai is “Learning how to use my new Kindle.”

To be honest, this tour royally pisses me off. I’m not going and I almost hope it bombs because my Alexis (not to mention my Jesse and my Mishavona) will be replaced by Michael Sarver and Megan. That’s just freaking wrong.

  • AnnaMarieFields

I think Ricky Braddy,Alexis Grace,Mishavona,Jesse Langesh should replace
    Megan,Scott,Danny and Sarver.

  • AC

I’m just hoping for a duet between Kris (on his guitar) and Matt (on his piano)- maybe they can do what they did in Hollywood week? Or does anyone know what type of format it will be following? I’m hoping like Season 5 where there were duets but still a lot of solos. We already know that Adam’s doing 5 songs. I think Kris will probably have 6 even though the 6th will be the mandatory No Boundaries. hehe

  • weareallinnocent

Well, I’m a pragmatist. I can’t wait for tour reports to start rolling in so I’ll know whether I can show up late and at least miss Sarver altogether. :-) I’m ok with Megan, so I’ll be breaking at Scott, Lil, and Danny, if they follow last year’s form. :-) Should work out pretty well, unless they mix it up with duets in between!

  • sonyab

    weareallinnocent says

so Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll be breaking at Scott, Lil, and Danny, if they follow last yearà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s form. :-)
    =================================================
So does that mean you don’t want to watch Scott, Lil, and Danny? :)

  • girlygirl

I am going when the tour comes to L.A. I really am only interested in seeing Kris, Adam and Allison (plus any duets or trios involving the three of them), but I’ll probably sit there politely through the others!

  • girlygirl

I would like to see some behind the scenes stuff during rehearsal and while they are out on tour

  • AnnaMarieFields

Matt must be singing that Georgia song. Its the only one i remember from him on hollywood week.

  • gingerly

I only went last year, and there was only one, and a more popular one, who I didn’t even want to see. I never went before last year, and seriously doubt I will again. I’ll just say that the one I didn’t want to see was the perfect potty/drink break (yeah, God was watching out for me). This year there’s 3 I could be interested in, but none that I’m dying to see. Just doesn’t make sense for me to spend money on an extravaganza that I’m truly not interested in. Why do I think it will be such the extravaganza this year? I never, ever buy tickets for that (unless I’m buying for a broadway show).

  • http://www.myspace.com/swood1104 Sarah

Yeah, I think Matt’s gonna be doing “Georgia” too. Should be good.

I’ll be okay with 6 out of the 10. Matt should sound better on tour than he did on the show, since he won’t really be nervous. Same with Megan, and hopefully she’ll pick good songs for herself. And I’m all about Adam, Allison, Kris, and Anoop.

So the other 4 will just be my bathroom and beer breaks. Heh.

  • hwc

Matt Giraud twitters, à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“On tour Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m doing some bluesy rock to get everyone going and you know Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve gotta rock that piano like youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never seen me do on the showà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“

Wow. A rawker. Who knew? Next thing ya know, he’s gonna show up with a wallet chain and GIRAUD tatto’d across his back.

  • Qcloud9

I’m very excited to see Anoop on tour this summer! Anoop and some of the others are fun to follow on Twitter. Follow Anoop @AnoopDoggDesai.

Rehearsals started yesterday for some — Anoop, Lil, and Michael rehearsed yesterday.

Here’s the tour band drummer’s twitter, for future reference –

So does that mean you donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to watch Scott, Lil, and Danny? :)

Beer and bathroom breaks, to be clear! :-) So, looks like Sarah and I will be meeting up (although I doubt we’re at the same venue lol.)

  • hollygo9

you know Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve gotta rock that piano like youà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve never seen me do

I really hope he doesn’t talk like that in real life. Word up Word up.

  • hwc

BTW, is that picture supposed to make us want to go to the tour? Or unload the tickets on E-Bay?

  • suebrody

    I am going for
    Adam (#1)
Kris (please don’t make him sing NB, sigh, tho they will)
Allison (hope she does SR with Adam)
Matt (rocking the fedora, not the runs)

    I am okay with
Danny (well sort of, if he doesn’t act snarky)
    Anoop (stay soulful)

I am not interested whatsoever in
    Lil
    Scott
    Megan

And I’m totally pissed off about
Sarver (who took Alexis’s spot; bitter)

I went to the SYTYCD tour two years ago, and found it a total rehash of S3. That is the last time I go to that tour, as much as I love the show. I have a feeling that the Idol tour is cheesy beyond belief (true?), but b/c of the first five, excluding Danny (okay, Adam), I am willing to deal. I may arrive late, hoping that I miss Megan, Scott, and Lil.

But if I’m being honest, there is no way I would go without Adam, as much as I like Allison, Kris, and Matt. I can’t wait for the Glambert Experience, so this will have to do. If there are group numbers, I am already prepared to gag. I so hoped they would add Alexis, b/c they add two to the SYTYCD tour, but I guess they don’t see anyone coming down with laryngitis. ;)

Woohoo weareallinnocent. I wish you well. You’re gonna be drinking the beer I’m hoping you have a designated driver to get you thru the crap. Me, I’d only be interested in seeing Matt and Kris…hardly enough to pay all that money for. I’ll see them in concert by themselves shortly. Kris because h’e AI and Matt because he doesn’t live very far away at all. This saves me from Michael, Megan, Scott, Anoop, Danny, and Adam. I’ve truly no interest in seeing any of them. I may want to see Allison if it were easy but based on her American Idol stint, not so much. That’s just me, however, and I expect not one soul to agree..

  • AnnaMarieFields

Lil,Scott,Sarver and Danny are my bathroom breaks. If im in the mood i might stick around to roll my eyes as Anoop and Megan perform.

I’m really curious to see how Allison,Kris and Matt all three do when there not being judged. There were times when i thought they wanted to run away because they were so nervous.I heard something about Adam nor being
aloud to dress up.He better dress up.He better do what he does best and
own that stage.I expect nothing less.

  • SparklesATL

I think Ricky Braddy,Alexis Grace,Mishavona,Jesse Langesh should replace

Interesting news about Gokey. My brother did not realize he had been working out at Ballys with Gokey’s mom for years. She is a former flight attendant and is very good with several instruments. Apparently she has a smokin’ bod according to my dear brother and she looks 35 instead of 53. I didn’t know that she had been divorced from Danny’s dad for over ten years and that he rarely saw them. Now I feel really sorry for Danny–sounds like it was make it or break it for years. Right now she is out of work. My brother suggested she bill herself as Gokey’s mom and give music lessons, but he said she disapproved of using Danny as a stepping stone. My brother said, “I guess they are very religious!” Yeah, no kidding. With no money, they probably couldn’t represent as much at Idol.

  • SparklesATL

Matt (rocking the fedora, not the runs)

I hope he doesn’t rock the runs** either.

**where I live “the runs” means diarrhea

  • AC

I was looking at that drummer guy’s twitter and it sounds like Kris did not start rehearsals yet?

also, yes, I saw danny’s mom on the rachel ray thing with the top 4′s moms and she looks more like his sister.

  • jpfan

Too much cannon fodder for me. Although if tickets were on sale really cheap the day before I’d be tempted. I’d def want to skip Sarver, Scott and Megah. And Lil and Anoop won’t keep me around. Matt is a toss up. He could be good. But I’d like to hear Danny, Kris and Adam.

On the other hand by the time the show comes to my town, I’ll have seen so many tour videos it’ll feel like I’ve already seen it.

  • Thea

Just out of curiosity, how much are the tickets?

  • cay

I think I’ll skip this year. The pic doesn’t make me want to go. However, I was not invested at all in anyone last year but I went to the concert and it was good. I think they all were better than on the show. It was also a pleasant experience as the audience (in DC at least) appreciated and clapped for all of them – so no wierdness. Although the David’s got the most applause, people were very respectful. I agree with others that much is lost on the television. (There’s just way too much fodder to go this year)

  • Kirmacat

On the other hand by the time the show comes to my town, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll have seen so many tour videos ità ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll feel like Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ve already seen it.

Okay, good. I’m new to all this (and Canadien so the tour doesn’t come here) so I’m really happy that Tour videos are posted, ’cause if not, I might have been willing to spend hours in a car and whatever the tickets cost to go see certain idols preform (Lil, Sarver and Meghan are not among them…).

  • lizzy12345

More about Danny’s life you may not know. He grew up in the city and went to an urban school where he was one of few white kids. He had a pretty tough life and started dating Sofia when they were both in the teens. Sophia was Puerto Rican. They married in their early twenties. I think people have been extremely hard on Danny for no reason. He came to American Idol pretty “green” and yes he made some mistakes, but I think he is a pretty decent guy. Everyone here seems to give Adam such respect for being honest about who he is. I think Danny deserves the same opportunity to be allowed to be who he is. There is nothing wrong with being open about your faith.

And as to the tour. I am going to see the top four. Adam, Danny, Allison and Kris. I think the top four were extremely talented this year and I hope they all have some success in the music industry.

  • http://myspace.com/girlgeek mj

Thanks for Aaron’s twitter feed. He’ll be posting some good stuff, hopefully!

  • riaspark17

Was the official tour pics released yet? I think I might have missed them… Also, where is my Glambert in the pic above? Those were the ones rehearsing today, right?

  • cay

Bummer. By reading the drummer’s twitter, it seems that the concert will be like last year’s. 4 Idols were scheduled to rehearse today. Doesn’t sound like duets and stuff. I bet it’s just like last year. 3 songs each, but Adam gets 4 and Kris gets 5. Adam’s 5th one he talked of is probably the group song at the end. That is going to be one boring concert. Most of their humor is that of 12 yr olds. Top 4 should be good though.

Lizzy. I’m an Adam fan, and I have always respected Danny being true to himself too. I think he’s been given a bumm rapp. I do like how Danny is honest too.

  • wjmtv

I may have finally discovered a use for Twitter.

  • SparklesATL

Everyone here seems to give Adam such respect for being honest about who he is. I think Danny deserves the same opportunity to be allowed to be who he is. There is nothing wrong with being open about your faith.

Absolutely totally, totally agree with you. I don’t see why some take such pleasure at putting someone down because they are not afraid to be open about their faith.

I don’t like Danny, but that doesn’t mean I don’t respect his faith and talent.

  • http://twitter.com/cara_lee pj

    My list goes like this:

Adam, Allison, and Kris – can’t wait to see them

    Anoop, Matt – interested

Gokey, Lil, Megan – eh, it might be tolerable. Again, song choice will be key.

Scott – little to no interest

    Sarver – absolutely no interest.

I do hope they mix it up Season Six style. With this cast, there will still be plenty of time for beer and bathroom breaks even with duets and group numbers.

Of course, I’m also open to someone surprising me. In season 5, I didn’t expect to enjoy Lisa as much as I did. I also didn’t expect to find Paris so terrible. So, ya never know.

  • niks

I must be a lone soul in here who is excited to see every single one of them at the concert. Ah well, I’m just easily pleased.

Twitter is fantastic for getting tour spoilers and keeping up with these contestants’ careers, whoever has one. We should be getting some more fun news about the tour in the next month or so!~

  • iluvai

I’m actually very excited to go to the concert, I even bought tickets for two days in a row. Even though I’m mostly going to see Adam, I think it will be fun just to enjoy the top 10 and the “cheesiness” of it all. BTW, I wish Alexis was on tour with them too.

  • unique28v

Everyone here seems to give Adam such respect for being honest about who he is. I think Danny deserves the same opportunity to be allowed to be who he is. There is nothing wrong with being open about your faith.

I agree. I’ve said before that I think Danny got a raw deal on the blogosphere.

  • storm45701

always look for tickets the day before or even of the concert. My boss did this last year, and ended up close to the stage…they hold on to many good seats until the very end.

I can’t justify going, since only three of the ten “Idols” even interest me. I still have NO idea how Sarver, Corkrey and Scott even made it to the top ten. Matt and Anoop *might* be ok, but Lil and Danny cancel them out. Amazing that I really only want to see the three contestants who have actually ended up signing record deals. LOL.

  • AnnaMarieFields

I am a Kris fan but i cant wait to see Adam.I love to see he pulls out of the box.Whatever it is he entertains you.It wouldnt be a tour without him.I hope he gets 5 songs just like Kris because Adam derserves that.

  • weareallinnocent

But if Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m being honest, there is no way I would go without Adam

Yep, that says it for me too!

I’ve never been to an Idol concert, so it should prove interesting… And I’m very excited to see Adam. I’m happy for the bonus of seeing Allison and Kris. I expect that Matt and Megan will be enjoyable too, and I hope to be pleasantly surprised by Anoop. But, again, without Adam, no way I’d be going, NO way.

  • Tara

Thanks for the tip Storm. All the good tickets are sold out. Just nosebleed left. Now I have a glimmer of hope…. I don’t want to drive for 5 hours and sit in the nosebleed. Plus, I worry I won’t see the glitter from that far back..

  • karenw

BTW, is that picture supposed to make us want to go to the tour? Or unload the tickets on E-Bay?

  • steve
  • adamisthemanfan

Well, I too bought tickets not just for me but for my little sister as well and frankly had it not been for Adam I wouldn’t have bothered..getting to see Allison duet with him and do her thing is an added bonus…I am also looking forward to seeing Danny sing You are so beautiful (hopefully that will be one of the songs he will perform) I too like his voice and have nothing against him…its interesting how some ppl blatantly rejected him I mean it was just the way he was portrayed on the show we don’t really know him personally. He deserves credit for his singing abilities, and frankly that’s all I care about. I don’t care about anyone’s sexuality or religion or how old they are I care about the music and the singing. IMHO people focus way too much on stuff that shouldn’t be so relevant.

  • girlygirl

Here’s another interview piece with Kris. Sorry, nothing on his reaction to what Adam said in the RS article (this interview was probably done when Kris was in NYC on his publicity blitz). Some info on what he listened to as a kid, what he listens to now, and how he deals with being a “heartthrob”

Too much cannon fodder for me.

This. I don’t know if I’m going to bother this summer. Last year, I was looking forward to seeing everyone not named Kristy Lee Cook so it was cool. For the most part, I was entertained from beginning to end. This year there are so many clunkers I have no interest in seeing. Maybe I’ll reconsider later on but for now I think I’ll pass.

    Thea-
“Just out of curiosity, how much are the tickets?”

My tickets were a mother’s day gift, but I was the one who ordered them (ha), it’s what I asked for. We went the $53 route (this is the base price, before all the fees). I believe there were less expensive seats, but in the Target Center (Minneapolis, MN) you have to be careful where you sit (as I’m sure it is in other venues).

I’ve heard a lot of varying accounts about how the tour will be this year. Since this is my first one (I’m an AI tour virgin), I don’t know what to expect beyond what I’ve read here. I’m hoping those who go will report on their experiences. I will go no matter what, whether what I hear is good or bad, but I want to be prepared for the best and/or worst.

  • Owl

Oh, I get it, will. It says ‘that page doesn’t exist’ because he deleted his tweet and posted it again to correct his typo.
Don’t do this to me… lol… you almost gave me a heart attack… I utterly love Danny and I’m addicted to his tweets… like ‘waking up at 3 in the morning to check his tweets’ addicted as I’m in Australia, in the other side of the world.

  • dyg

Questions to any AI tour savvy:

    1. Do people upload videos taken during the concerts?

    2. Are the concerts recorded by AI and available in iTunes?

  • iluvai

    Jayd:

Expect a lot of moms and kids, lot’s of buzz and excitement, lots of fun. Just go with it all and it should be enjoyable. Also, maybe bring earplugs. There might be some really fearsome screaming for Kris and Adam. Last year, it was pretty crazy loud when the David’s performed. This is a great concert to take kids too– very tame. Also with 10 of them singing, no matter who you like, you won’t get enough of your idol. But it’s still fun to see the people you’ve been watching on t.v. these last months.

  • butte009

Everyone here seems to give Adam such respect for being honest about who he is. I think Danny deserves the same opportunity to be allowed to be who he is. There is nothing wrong with being open about your faith.

I think the difference is that Adam never appeared to be trying to convert people. Danny on the other hand gave (and still gives) that impression – he is going to start a movement, he is going to make people’s lives better, he’s making glasses cool again (say what?)…

I don’t think that people hold Danny’s faith against him per se. No one seems to be holding Kris’ faith and missionary work against him. Rather it’s how he presents his faith to others. It’s like he is pushing it onto others (however unintentional it may be). I imagine it’s a turn off for a lot of people. Just saying….

I’ve only been to season 5 tour. I had my nieces as cover but they live in SC now so I have no one to go with of acceptable age, lol. I would love to see Kris and Adam – oh well, have to wait for their cd’s!

Thanks for the link to the Kris EW article. I love Adam, too but I have settled on Kris as my favorite (post finale, heh) and it was nice to read an article about him where they don’t ask him about Adam.

That’s fine, will. The link is link

He said in an interview that he gets bored because the idols are rushed to get to the rehearsals early but then they have to wait and wait and wait until it’s their turn to actually do something… I also remember him saying at the beginning at the season that before idol he used to work as a truck driver during the day and as a church music director at night in two churches, working sometimes 18 hours a day so the schedule at idol was less demanding than he was used to.

  • will

OK, now that Danny tweet says “At rehearsal bored =)” and links to the photo. So he simply meant to say the three of them were goofing around because they were bored. So I guess there’s no controversy here, dang it. I was hoping for a little backstage Gokey scandal.

I’d have to disagree. I went to last year’s tour concert in Toronto mostly to see DC and DA but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the entire show, even Syesha, Ramiele and Kristy Lee Cook. Carly Smithson really rocked the arena. I was annoyed at the food vendor who got in my way during one of Jason Castro’s songs.

mj – Adam has said that he will be doing a 5-song set. Have you heard any news about how many songs Kris is doing? I am assuming that Kris will be last because he is the winner, but for me, after Adam sings I really dont want to hear anyone else.

  • jmom376

Unfortunately I can’t go this year, but I have purchased Kris’s pass, so I hope between that and Youtube I will get to see most of the concert.

I honestly just hope that the Adam fans are respectful to the other idols during the tour.

  • jersey

Even if Kris isn’t your favortie, you should definitely stay until the end of the concert. As far as I know, they always end with a cheesetastic group number complete with dancing and pointy poses!

  • Jayd

    iluvai-

Just go with it all and it should be enjoyable. Also, maybe bring earplugs. There might be some really fearsome screaming for Kris and Adam.

LOL. I’ll probably be the one screaming! I’ll tell my hubby and daughter to bring earplugs so they don’t leave me there. The last concert I went to, I could hear the bass pound in my heart-very cool and very weird! The tour definitely sounds like fun, thanks!

“I honestly just hope that the Adam fans are respectful to the other idols during the tour.”

I don’t think that Adam’s fans will be disrespectful to any of the other idols or their fans. Most people are basically decent (at least I like to think so), and will just be happy to be there. Adam is my favorite, but I like most of the others, too. Even though I am not a big fan of one, I would never be disrespectful to him.

  • suebrody

Why would Adam fans be disrespectful of the other Idols? I have no interest in seeing Michael Sarver whatsoever, but I will either show up late or just stay quiet (and Twitter!) during his solo (does he have a solo?).

Can anyone tell me, never having been: Is it mostly solo sets, or is it a combo of solos, duets, and group craptastic numbers? I am going alone, but I am hoping for fantard chaos! :)

  • canuck

Danny is my favourite so he would be the reason I would go. I
also think the others in combo would make for a good show.

Currently boycotting EW for the blatant harassment of Danny.

    I guess I am just worried because of the way some of Adams fans are acting on Kris’s press releases and seeing people say the only reason they are going to the concert is because of Adam. But I guess last year was probably similar with the two Davids and I didn’t notice anything out of the ordinary during the concert. I can’t wait until the first concert happens :}

    Tess says,

    Canà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t remember who said the famous line but here goes: à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã…“Only boring people get boredà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ . à ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢nuff said.
    =====================================
    I don’t agree with that. :)

  • weareallinnocent

People may only be willing to pay the exorbitant ticket price because Adam is part of the show, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be rude or boo for the others! To be honest, I’m more worried for Adam, as I believe that “haters” may be rude and obnoxious no matter what. (And I live in the South, so I can’t say with any confidence that it won’t happen here.) Even Cook last year had to put up with obnoxious or hateful signs from fans of others…

As for Danny, it’s nothing personal, his singing and performing rarely appealed to me at all. There were two times — standards night was the first, and his sing out the last — where I actually saw what I believed his fans must see and why they appreciate his music. Other than those times, I found his singing merely meh. YMMV

  • suebrody

I and many other Adam fans are very excited about Kradam. What I loved so much was the mutual affection that Kris and Adam had for one another. It was really nice to see. I know the Davids liked each other, too, but I also suspect that the Cook fans were not Archie fans (do not like Archie’s music at all; my nieces saw Archie and do not like Cook) and Archie/Cook’s music didn’t seem to jibe well, whereas I loved Kradam’s We Are The Champions (for me, it was the highlight of the finale, even more than KISS, as I am not a fan of KISS).

I hope Kris doesn’t have to sing No Boundaries. Poor Kris. That song still doesn’t suit his voice.

So does that mean you donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t want to watch Scott, Lil, and Danny? :)

Beer and bathroom breaks, to be clear! :-) So, looks like Sarah and I will be meeting up (although I doubt weà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢re at the same venue lol.)

Hmmm so Danny’s twitter is real? :)

  • kokko

Yes Canuck I have bought the AI 8 Concert Ticket, and I basically just want to see Danny (I know it’s hard to believe to many posters in this blog). I also love Adam, like Allison, Anoop and Matt as well. Somehow I am just not that interested in Kris, but I will try to stay til the end for the cheesy group song. I am totally not interested in Lil, Megan or Sarver, I would rather have Alexis replacing either one of these three.

  • suebrody

Can anyone share a little bit about how the tour works, based on last year’s tour? Thanks! (Just curious; I know I’ll find out soon, but I’m excited.)

  • KrazeeK120

As far as I know, they always end with a cheesetastic group number complete with dancing and pointy poses!

I haven’t decided whether or not I’m going to the tour yet…I’d love to see my bb Kris but it’s expensive and rather inconvenient for me to go…but if they reprise a certain number, I might grab the first willing person and get myself a ticket…

Let’s dance! Let’s shout! (Shout!) Shake ya body now to the ground!

    Best. group. performance. EVER!

  • karenw

Well if he is sitting around doing nothing then yeah I can see how he can be bored. :)

Well it doesn’t say much for how he feels about Alison and Megan’s company …lol

“I honestly just hope that the Adam fans are respectful to the other idols during the tour.”

I’m an Adam fan I’m looking forward to seeing all of them perform and I’m definitely going to be cheering them all on. It wouldn’t be any fun to be rude and I am paying for a whole concert of performers. It’s gonna be fun. I get to be a crazy fan. ha!

  • iluvai

“LOL. Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll probably be the one screaming! Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll tell my hubby and daughter to bring earplugs so they donà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢t leave me there. The last concert I went to, I could hear the bass pound in my heart-very cool and very weird! The tour definitely sounds like fun, thanks!”

I admit it. I was a very loud screamer. But so was everyone else. Especially my 8 year old. LOL. It’s all good.

P.S. If you’re into souvenirs, bring some cash. I got suckered into buying expensive Idol shorts and t-shirts!

  • aek

About the bordom, I’ve heard several past idols, (Taylor, for one, I know), talk about getting bored because many of them said that so often with Idol it is “hurry up, and then wait”.

I like the silly pic. I wish they would post more of the goings on.

  • kijico3

I am only going to see Adam and his probable duet with Allison. This will have to suffice until he tours alone. Even though it’s only a 5 song set, it’s more than worth it to me!! Never been to an AI tour, and have watched every season. NO-ONE has ever come remotely close to the extraordinary talent that is Adam Lambert!

Yes, yes, yes – that would be SUCH fun! Not just fun for us; the idols seemed to have a great time performing it, too.

I got my tickets and am driving 5 hours from Albuquerque to Phoenix to see the show with my sis and friend. We are all major Adam fans but I am looking forward to Kris, Allison, Matt, Danny and Anoop. I’m hoping that Lil will surprise me a bit and while I don’t like some of the things I’ve read about Sarver, I think he’d probably be entertaining. I’m not a Scott fan at all and since he’s from Arizona, I’m hoping that doesn’t change the overall schedule of the show (keep his songs the same, I beg of you.) I’m not sure about Megan but we’ll see. I will have to say that I think at EW’s Gokey stuff made me feel negatively about him. But after seeing his idolatry and seeing him on some other shows, those negative feelings are completely gone. I also think that seeing a lot of the hatred on the blogs/articles (not so much at MJ’s) towards Adam, I realized how tough-skinned these kids have to be and how much I admire them for their tenaciousness. It shouldn’t have taken those things to stop my negative feelings towards Danny and for that I’m a little ashamed of myself. I started watching the show thinking that Danny had a great voice and he still does. I’m looking forward to his set. Can’t wait for July 20th! We’ve decided to take the trip to Phoenix and then follow up the rest of the week in Vegas! Go Wild Women from Albuquerque!

  • TKat

I am going to my first AI concert to see Adam, and I plan to arrive late and hopefully minimize exposure to Sarver and Megan. I will probably exit for the Lil and Danny parts. But I’m looking forward to the rest.

I actually think that if there are any rude fans, it will be directed to Adam or Danny. Of course from the comments I’ve read, the beer lines are going to be really long during Sarvers’ performance.

  • canuck

Cindy M., your comments on Danny made me really happy.

I just felt EW was promoting hatred towards one sole contestant – that’s really unacceptable in any setting and catches on like wildfire in the anonymity of the blogosphere.

    Thanks for your candour.

Here is something for Danny to consider. Instead of being bored, use that time wisely and learn about all the various forms of music you said you knew nothing about before Idol (you know, all forms except gospel). I’ve never known a bored artist. Hummm. Jus’ sayin’.

  • Mary102

I’m so excited about the tour! SO glad I got tickets :-) I can’t wait to hear what everyone is doing.

And I hope we get more candid moments of everyone rehearsing, joking around, etc. I still want Slezak at EW to pop up on tour to hang out with Kradison a little, give us some candid moments…you listening, Slezak?

  • Mary102

I must be a lone soul in here who is excited to see every single one of them at the concert. Ah well, Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m just easily pleased.

You’re not alone :-) This will be the 3rd one I’ve gone to, and I’ve always had fun. The thing is, even though I usually go just for one fav, and there are always some performers that I could do without, by the time the show comes around, I just enjoy the whole thing. It doesn’t completely feel like the show, because you get full songs, no judging, no nerves or competition.

Everyone sounds good (even the weaker singers – soung mixing is a wonderful thing), and I generally just have a good time. Last year, for instance, I could hardly care less for people like Brooke, Jason, Kristy Lee, etc. when they were on the show, but I still had a good time listening to them live (Brooke on the piano was very good, and Jason sounded good too). It’s also just cool to see them in person after watching them on tv :-)

If I had to say who I was really excited about seeing, though, it would be:

Most Excited: Adam (goes without saying for me – he’s really the only reason I got tix in the first place) – and I’m excited for his outfits too :wink_wp:

    Very Excited: Allison, Kris

Pretty Excited: Danny, Matt, Anoop, Lil

Should be ok (not bad, but not the most earth-shattering either): Sarver, Megan (this one could be interesting – she better caw for us :wink_wp:), Scott (just don’t sing the song you got kicked off on – eck!)

    Well now you do! ROFL.

  • Mary102

Can anyone share a little bit about how the tour works, based on last yearà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢s tour? Thanks! (Just curious; I know Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢ll find out soon, but Ià ¢Ã¢â€š ¬Ã¢â€ž ¢m excited.)

I went for S5 and S7 (skipped S6 because I didn’t care for the contestants as much).

For S5: Everyone performed in elimination order (with a few switcheroos, like having 7 go before 8 or something like that), with a few duets sprinkled in to segue between acts (Chris and Elliot duet to introduce Elliot, Bucky and Kelly did a country duet.) Usually #s 10-6 or 5 get 2 to 3 songs each, then Chris and Elliot may have gotten 4 each, and the top 2 get 4, with an extra 5th for the winner (an encore).

For each of them they’ll perform something from the show (usually one of their greatest hits, Cook did Billy Jean last year) and some new stuff (Paris Bennet did Crazy in Love, which was cool). They ended the first half of the show plus the second half with a big group number (last year’s was Rihanna’s “Please Don’t Stop the Music” – cute, but yeah, a little cheesy.)

S7: Again, everyone in elimination order, but no duets (just the group number to end the first half and second half). The winner always sings the coronation song (poor Kris).

From what I understand, S6 mixed it up a bit more, with Blake ending the first half of the show, and a lot more group numbers/duets, etc. I’ve heard this year will be a bit more similar to that, and I think we’ve already had hints at a possible Adam/Allison Slow Ride reprise (yeah!) But I definitely hope they mainly stick to the order of elimination – it would be suicide to have Adam go before intermission, and I doubt that would happen.

I can see them mixing it up a bit, order wise (like put Matt and Anoop earlier, but then have them come back later too) just to keep things interesting. But then close with Adam and Kris.

    Hope that helps!

  • Mary102

And just to put in my 2 cents about potential rude Adam fans – I can’t see that happening at all! I was way more pissed when Chris Daughtry got kicked off so early in S5, and I really really didn’t like Taylor, but there are never any boos, just way more cheering for the guys people love.

It’s interesting to see the concert venue, because everyone gets a good reception, from my experience – even the less popular contestants, it’s just an overall fun atmosphere. You will hear crazy loud cheers, though, for the favs.

Not to mention, there’s way to much Kradam love out there (and Kradison love) for that to get much in the way :-)

  • screamingisgood

Bored person maybe, but not an artist. I’ve never known a TRUE artist that was bored. True artists have too much to explore, to learn about, to experience, to accomplish. They never seem to have enough time to express themselves, let alone have time to be sitting around lamenting their boredom. Bored people could just get up and DO. Express. Create. Learn. Idol is such an opportunity that most people would just drink in and be excited about, not lament oh, how bored they are. Artists and singers are not one in the same.

  • Tess

    My dream program…

Sarver, Megan do their bit. Scott does his and then is joined by Matt for a bit of Piano dueling. Lil (I’m sorry, it took me a minute to remember her name, I’m so very bad) sings her songs, Anoop finishes up the first half.

Second half…Matt wails on the piano and leads into Danny who gets to dance and sing (I know I am out of order). Then we have a back and forth concert with Allison, Adam, and Kris. Some duets and some solos and hopefully a trio thrown in…back and forth in no particular order.

Then Kris finishes up with his obligatory No Boundaries and then everyone comes out for a nice good bye and final song.

    I can dream, can’t I.

  • Mary102

    My dream programà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

I like the sound of that! I wouldn’t be surprised if they did a little something like that. Maybe more of just Adam and Allison before bringing Kris out, so as not to overshadow Kris too much, but otherwise, sounds good to me :-)

Not sure if they’d switch Danny and Allison, and I guess I would feel bad for Danny if they did, but it would work a lot better for an Allison/Adam duet (not feeling the potential Danny/Allison duet AT ALL)

  • LisaE

Tour tidbits. I didn’t know where else to post them. Sorry if already posted elsewhere!

From Peter Travers (Rolling Stone) Twitter: “Adam says the “Slow Ride” duet with Alison will be part of the Idol tour. Adam & Kris both picked Alison as their fave Idol.”

Also, Anoop said the following in his Comcast chat:

There aren’t a ton of group numbers, so you’re definitely going to see a lot of solo time from your favorite, which I think it really cool because you’re not buying a group CD when we’re through with this. You want to see the person you voted for and going to buy their CD afterward. But it’s going to be an amazing show.

  • AnnaMarieFields

If there arent alot of group numbers how about more duets? Like Allison and Adam then Matt and Kris? Or Kris and Anoop?

  • Qcloud9

I was glad to hear that each Idol will get a lot of solo time, because I am more interested in hearing them perform individually, because I want it that way (!) and since that’s what their CD will be, not group numbers or duets. I like some of the others a lot, but Anoop is by far my favorite and I wouldn’t be going to the concert if Anoop wasn’t going to have at least 3 solos. Anoop said in one interview he will be doing 2 songs from the show and one new song, so I’ll be there!

  • Mary102

Thanks for the updates, Lisa! That sounds good :-) (Love the Kradam Allison shout-out BTW!) And Hooray for Slow Ride! EVERYONE loved that performance (even non-Adam fans I talked to afterwards)

I’m also kind of glad about more solo time. Duets are kind of cute (and it worked well in S5 having, say, the two country singers duet together). This year, Adison duets would be cool, but most of the other duets, not so much. Except maybe a Kris/Matt duet – especially if they were also jamming on their instruments together – that could be really cool!

And the group numbers are always one of the weaker bits, imo. A little too cheesy, like the group numbers from the results shows.

  • Grammie Kari

Qcloud9, the budget is tight, so please be sure to put your review up here. I am so curious what songs Anoop will song!

Danny also says he just finished filming for the American Idol Experience Disney World attraction. Each of the Top 5 will be featured in a videoà ¢Ã¢â€š ¬ ¦

Now, here is one example of how Anoop is being cheated. He was in the TOP 5 until the Judges Save was used. Not fair at all.
