Gangreen is back with another spotlight on an American Idol 10 Top 40 contestant. Today’s hopeful should be familiar to those of you following the audition episodes…

Jacee Badeaux- Jacee was featured in the New Orleans auditions (Watch his audition). Idol wanted some younger contestants this year when they lowered the age to 15, but Jacee comes across even younger.

He does have a nice delicate tone to his voice, but what will happen when it inevitably changes? Will Jacee be croaking through performances on the show as his voice cracks?

There is definitely an audience for the child wunderkind type of singer though, and it could take Jacee far.

    I wonder if Fox 44 in Baton Rouge (who first discovered him last summer as the Baton Rouge Idol) will get a lot of hate mail if he makes it far? He seems like a love-hate kind of guy that will get a lot of Justin Bieber comparisons.

    and no he wont get bieber comparisons imo because he’s CUTE like a teddy bear not hot like justin :P

    Is it known that the kid’s voice hasn’t changed? I’m no expert at all, but he sounds to me like he could be one of those very high tenors whose voice kind of seamlessly goes into it’s adult mode without a hugely noticeable change, kind of like MJ’s. I wonder if there’s any audio of this kid as a 10 year old. It’d be easier to tell.
