Good for him. However, does anyone feel like its a bit premature. I mean, not for us Idoloonies, but in the AMA music landscape. Paula and Soop Dog have been around forever.
It feels a bit like Obama’s Nobel Peace Prize, like he is being rewarded for what is to come (or expected), not for what he has accomplished.

I rather happy for Darius Ruckers nomination, that was a big step for him to crossover to country.

Adam’s fashion looks more steampunk than country, but I can see that as well.

Their outfits all compliment each other so well! When Snoop announced the country category, someone off camera said something. It almost sounded like Adam said he made Snoop announce them. Maybe someone with better ears picked up what was said by whom.

I wasn’t bored b/c I just kept glancing at how HOT Adam looked, how Snoop kept calling him “my main man Adam,” how pretty Paula looked, how sophisticated Snoop looked, and…well…okay, how hot Adam looked (plus his line about it feeling like being in a club…lol).

Adam’s outfit is pretty stupid looking lol and I agree with whoever said that him being there is a bit like the Nobel Peace Prize thing, a little early….especially considering he’s also already been booked to perform before his single is even chose, wtf is that about?? So many artists that actually have songs on the charts would love to perform and don’t get asked. Looks like RCA is putting all their eggs in his basket…be ready for some crazy promo when his CD drops.

Well that was as deliciously awkward as I imagined, good times. And hey, Paua was much more concise in her speaking than I’ve seen in a long time. Adam and Snoop were cute, aww “main man,” along with “Miss Adbul,” and “Mr. Lambert,” stuff.

I think if you were to ask Adam, he would feel like he has accomplished a lot. A year ago, we knew nothing of Adam and now, look at how far he has come. He will be a household name before long. I’m not toally in love with Adam’s look here. It’s 1,000 times better than the Young Hollywood Awards look but there is too much going on with the 2 vests, gloves, string tie and does his blue shirt look a little too big? It seems oddly wrinkly.

That said, he seems to be a natural at this and that is what’s most important. Can’t wait to see his AMA performance. I’m impressed he will be on the main show and not just the pre-show.

Question about the AMAs:
If Artist of the year has one nominee from every category, isn’t that a bit foretelling about who’s been chosen for the prize of those catagories? Or is that up to voters now (please forgive my ignorance- I’m not American and have never seen these awards before…)?

Agreed. He has definitely come a long way. Even within the music business he has come a long way (Rolling Stones cover and big-budget movie song). But as far as music goes, he hasn’t even released a not-associated-with-idol song.
My guess is that the industry needs him to bring life to sluggish sales. A big burden on a new artist, even if hauling from planet fierce.

So do I, but apparently we are alone here, even though I think that is the look he was going for since he has had steampunk elements to his style before.

It’s weird seeing steampunk a bit more featured in the mainstream like it has been recently. One thing I do really like about Adam is that he is aware of many sub-cultures and those kind of movements, even if they aren’t ones I am too enamoured with.

I think Adam did a really good job here, and hopefully he’ll get some tv time on the entertainment shows tonight with a little snippet here and there. Extra exposure always helps.

He looked great. We have not seen that look until today. It was perfect. Of course someone on an earlier thread mentioned there would be the gratuitous rocker leather in one form or another (gloves!)

He seemed very relaxed and confident. I have no doubt that he would have done well hosting the AMAs but I am soooo glad that he will be performing. I recall thinking, during the finale after he sang Beth, he announced Kiss, that he did that tiny bit so perfectly. He is a man for all seasons.

And did anyone notice, it looks like Paula was wearing black nail polish.

When Adam was finishing up his last interview in the meeting room behind the room where the announcements took place, Paula wanted to say hello to him, but stopped in the doorway rather than interrupt the interview. So while she was waiting, Paula wrote on a photo of herself that Adam should remember that she judged him and picked him to win and ended with her info so they can keep in touch. She gave it to him when he came out. Very funny! And I thought she looked stunning…

That’s the worst Adam’s hair has been, in, like, EVER. That hairstyle is like “I’m so emo for no reason, pay attention to me (-_\\\)” with a hint of “80s granny” hair. At least his old emo hair was neat.

One thing I love about Adam – he knows how to dress. Love the double vest and the string tie (Victorian – not to be mistaken as a bolero tie, which is the western version.) Snoop looks pretty sharp, as well.

Ugh. I’m so sad about Cook not being nominated. I believe if he had different singles (Heroes, Permanent) he would of had a better chance.

Not really. The AMAs are really based on popularity and the Grammys are based on a bunch of things. Many many people who’ve won Grammys would never get a nomination for an AMA because they don’t have the most popularity in some format. And lots of people who get feted at the AMAs don’t get Grammy noms, either, though it does tend to work a little more that way than the other way, I think.

Not my favorite hair day for Adam……. However, his presentation was to die for! I loved that little laugh throughout that said he was having fun.

That is his top 13 hair. Hated it then,,,hate it now… It makes him look too girlie. Still love him though, and can’t wait for his album!!

Nobody loves Adam more than I do. However, during that interview when he says that he “wants to put on a show” at the AMAs, am I the only one who is a tiny bit worried???? We all know Adam, and I just hope it isn’t going to be too, too OTT crazy. Having said all of that, I’m sure I will love his performance no matter what!

Just watching the video. Well, they do it WAY better with the Oscar nominees and Emmys. did they not realize how ridiculous the speakers would feel when they kept handing it off to each other. They were dancing up there. They each should have each done one-third of the categories in sequence–so Snoop does one-third, then Paula, then Adam, then that’s it.

The outfit was fine. I don’t care what others may have thought, Waiter or cowboy he can wait on me and I live in Texas so cowboy is too fine. But naked, I can’t go there. Some would say that tha is not age appropriate. However, rules do not apply at Planet Fierce

LMAO I think all 3 presenters looked great and coordinated and I LOVE how Adam switches it up, the boy sure isn’t boring!!

No doubt Adam would deliver delightful service.

Nobody loves Adam more than I do. However, during that interview when he says that he ‘wants to put on a show’  at the AMAs, am I the only one who is a tiny bit worried???? We all know Adam, and I just hope it isn’t going to be too, too OTT crazy. Having said all of that, I’m sure I will love his performance no matter what!

I had that same “tiny bit worried” feeling also. I think Adam still doesn’t fully realize that he doesn’t need a big production around him to get our attention. Just him sharing with us his “other worldly vocals” suffices.

All three of them are kind of color/dress coordinated. They look great.

Remember the Kiss number on the Finale!…That was the number 1 video on Itunes for Weeks!!!! Most people feel that was the best number of the night…So that seemed to work out just perfect for him….I am only bringing this up because I hope knowing this gives you some comfort or eases your concern.

i luv his talking voice…and his laugh is contagious. like the overall clean, edgy with a smile look.

To the commenter who asked (way earlier) about when Adam said he would be performing at the AMA’s, the producer of the show actually announced it as he was introducing Paula, Snoop and Adam before they came up to the podium.
