Adam is damned amazing. I know I hate his over the top performances, but he’s a damn cool person for that. Very good response to Clay! . GO ADAM!

Can this guy interview or what?? He really is a centered soul. The ease with which he handles controversy is amazing.

Adam cannot be hurt by the “Textgate” scandal, Kris is the one who could end up looking like a bogus winner. He is very smooth and has a knack of never steeping into the steaming piles that litter the post Idol interview trail.

I love how Adam just dismissed the textgate issue. The whole story is ridiculous and I say that as a diehard Adam fan. Let’s move on and focus on the future…his album, his first tour, etc. People need to follow Adam’s lead on that issue.

For the Record I am an Adam fan and WAS upset that he lost, but I never subscribed to the conspiracy theorists out there. He lost.

I was bummed but now Im over it, Partly because Adam seems so over it himself!

He is a winner with or without the title!
The Boy is clearly going places! The Overzealous fans need not fret!

Let’s instead focus on his FUTURE,
more importantly his Album and singles sales on the charts!

It’s more productive IMO to spend Time and effort promoting his music on iTunes rather than on this Stupid Voting Nonsense.

Speaking of the Glambert Nation, it’s too bad that those of us here who I see often (Kate09, downeast, suebrody, twinkle, lola, Tess…I’m forgetting a ton of people) can’t have some sort of chat site/forum somewhere. I know once the Adam coverage here stops my obsession won’t be over but the big forums are scary (if you’ve been there you know what I mean–yikes).

Me, too. The quality of discussion here is always much higher and the fan warring less intense. Thanks, mj, for that! I joined the official site the day it opened, but I haven’t really been back and after a quick look just now, I know why. First of all, it’s totally chaotic. And then the threads get bumped about twenty pages down every five seconds because so many people are posting at once in different threads. Ugh. There has to be some easier way for those of us who are MJ fans and Adam fans to find our fix and keep our support group going.

There we have our daily Adam fix. We even have chat forum there. On Tuesday and Wednesday nights during Idol shows, usually there were abt 400 people chatting at the same time in the forum, while watching the live streaming of Idol (there are hundreds of adam’s international fans in the forum, really spanning the globe despite the time zone difference). You can imagine the hysteria, panic and deep sadness expressed when they announce Adam’s loss.

The owner of the site is a straight male musician (we call him Dreamsound, or DS) who happen to admire Adam so much.

Does that mean Clay is going to write up another essay on his blog about Adam? Anyways, loved that response from Adam. 2 awesome.

What’s HBIC?

About Adam’s official site .. perhaps I’m just an old fart but it’s a total nightmare … there’s no structure to it and people seem to be starting new threads just for the sake of it to proclaim things like “OMG isn’t he hot?”.

I guess that’s what happens though when it has so many members …. plus Adam’s not the ideal person to help you control your hormones .. what ever age you are.

I was glad to hear Mr. Lambert talk about being proud of his American Idol studio recordings. He should be. As a collection of 12 songs, that is an astonishing body of work. I really lost interest in the one minute live Idol performances, knowing that the real recordings would follow a day later. He really blossomed in the studio, hitting full stride with Feeling Good and continuing right through to the end.

If anything, the studio versions cut over the weekends doomed his live performances two days later because there was simply no way to cut those vocals and songs down to one minute. So we ended up getting a little intro, a big finish, and nothing in between.

Adam is just so good at being interviewed, no? He speaks clearly, with clear thoughts, handles each question really well, and creates a relaxed atmosphere, loving him! Agree w/ Kate09, too, Adam can definitely run his PR biz, not only that he has the X factor (charisma), but plus the Y (diplomatic skill), I guess.
Funny to hear Adam’s reponse to Clay Aiken’s comments, Adam is definitely spot on, some headlines are exactly what Clay was hoping for. Well, no news is bad news for artists, so I guess he’d rather be hated than ignored.

Yeah, haha Kris Allen fans! Right now, there’s 88 fans online for Kris Allens official site and 609 for Adam Lambert. Adam has more fans signed up for his website than Kris Allen. HaHa. HaHa on YOU. AH, what’s the matter? Can’t register more than one person at a time like you did for the finale? Hmm?

One of the nicest things about MJ’s site is that you get a lot of everything idol. So you get to hear and read how the others are doing, too, and because of that I have learned to temper my fangirlishness and to at least try and act reasonable when I post. Like MJ says, we can critique the idols however we want but not the other posters…and now that I know somewhat how to do that I find it marvelous.

Having been here for the better part of a year I know that MJ will try and keep us abreast of everything Adam, so that for the most part we should have a thread every once in awhile to keep us going. Besides, MJ is terrific about letting the Headlines thread be the place where people can post the extra little tidbits they find for someone else’s enjoyment.

So, for now, I’ll visit some fansites but this is home to me as long as MJ will have me and I remember to behave (and sometimes its pretty hard, but I try). So, for all of you that “care” about Adam I hope you stick around so that we can keep in touch.

Oh I have ventured out of Mj’s a time or two but on most other, just Adam sites, you have to deal with girls or guys going on and on about “orgasmic” junk and melting into gooey puddles, ugh, i will stay here safe and sound. Well, I can only speak for myself, but I plan on sticking around here for the long haul. At this point, I can’t imagine Adam’s album coming out and not being here talking to you all about it. But (and maybe it’s just the fact that I don’t have complete control over my inner fangirl yet…LOL), it might be nice to have someplace to indulge our Adam obsession w/out taking over the comments section with back and forth messages. The interviews: Oh my gosh, words cannot express how absolutely delighted I am that somewhat I like can actually put two sentences together and carry on a conversation. Adam doesn’t interview, he “talks” to people. That is so the difference between him and most of the idols past and present. Either he took speech in high school or he is just inately blessed with a superb skill. And for both of these interviews the interviewers did an awesome job with awesome questions.

I could listen to Adam talk all day and he never (IMHO) says anything that is controversial, (besides some Clay snark) and he comes across as so interested in everything and so secure about everything. And the thing I like the very best is that he is honest about the pride he has in himself and that he likes himself. He has a healthy ego but it is so tempered because he can back his ego up with talent.

I love watching Adam, listening to Adam, he’s just a joy all around. I am so proud of how he handled Clay, and handle him he did, with finesse. He’s incredible. I got a big kick looking at the Hair pictures. They all looked so glad to see him too.

Text votes helped both Kris and Adam. Poll results depend on the question asked and are easily manipulated online. Not everyone who votes in a poll actually casts votes in the competition. And just because someone may think Adam is likely to win (perhaps influenced by all the media hype surrounding him) doesn’t mean that same person wants him to win.

Adam and Danny likely led the votes in the earlier rounds but Kris was a steady non-polarizing presence throughout and came through with several huge performances in the closing rounds.

If I remember rightly Clay Aiken appeared on the cover of RS not too long after fiinishing runner up and before he released his first album so why shouldn’t Adam if they think he’s newsworthy and think he has a future in the music industry. Being on the cover of magazines isn’t always about what you’ve achieved or what you will achieve, it’s about how newsworthy you are at the present and if the magazine think that you are a big enough draw to get people to buy your magazine.

No one can predict how Adam’s album with sell but if he appears on the cover of RS and the album flops I’m sure that the magazine will still keep going and will keep it’s credibility as it’s all about who people are interested in currently.

I’m in the UK so don’t know exactly how Clay’s career has gone but I have had an interest in all things AI to know that whilst he isn’t a worldwide superstar he’s still been pretty successful, sellling a lot of records, performing regularly and doing a stint on Broadway. He appeared on the cover of RS about 6 years ago and whilst his career may have slipped he’s still not exactly a total nobody. In the entertainment industry 6 years is a long time, not everyone can expect to sustain the type of careers the likes of Elvis, Bowie, Elton, Madonna etc have. .. I doubt that RS are bothered in the slightest that they had Clay on the cover as at the time he was on he was very newsworthy and helped to sell a lot of copies of their magazine and he then went on to sell a heck of a lot of records.

With all due respect none of us know how Adam’s album will do, we also don’t know how long he’ll be “famous” for .. no one knows unless we’re psychic .. and we certainly don’t know how far RCA or which ever record company he’s signed to are going to push him or how hard Adam can be pushed before he feels he’s being pushed.

I’m really curious as to whether you really do like Adam as, just my opinion, and apologies if I’ve got it wrong, but you seem to post very negatively about him and give the impression that the reason you want the media to back off him and stop giving him air time is more about you thinking he’s overshadowing Kris and that Kris should be the only one getting any media attention. Kris won the show and is getting the same level of publicity that other winners have got … Adam is also doing the same sort of media interviews that past runner’s up have got but it’s not his fault that that the media are interested in him and choose to write about him.

It’s been my theory all along that the AI judges weren’t so much pimping Adam as simply responding to the force of nature and sheer talent that is Adam Lambert. And what’s happening post-Idol is so far bearing that out…the media can’t leave Adam alone because he IS the story. He’s a magnet for attention, for praise, for obsession. I think that’s just the way it is and it’s not the result of pimping or unfair bias. It’s the result of Adam being Adam.

This. Even watching the older Citizen Vein videos you could tell there was something special, just not completely formed yet, about Adam. I think it became fully formed while in Wicked, everything seemed to start jelling. His performances that he was in as the understudy were top-notch and he lit up the stage. He is eye candy and a magnet, and that is something that can’t be explained away nor denied by anyone in his sphere.

What difference does it make why someone is famous? That would be why he gets magazine covers, because his picture sells right now.

I have to agree with the others here. I like Kris well enough, but I don’t spend much time reading threads about him or posting there, it’s kind of a matter of respect for those who post here regularly and love Kris. Most of us are old enough to recognize back handed compliments for what they are.

Okay, I cannot stop watching the damn video. When Adam says, “I like the top,” he looks at Kris and Kris is already starting to laugh (and is raising his eyebrows), which cracks Adam up. They are adorable. Love Adam’s, “That was inappropriate.” I think that’s the hardest I’ve ever heard Kris laugh.

KrisAllen1, by taking that particular user nickname, you’re wearing your partisanship on your sleeve, as it were. Every time you write something about Adam, good or bad, it reflects on Kris. You are most certainly entitled to write whatever you want but frequent negative comments do make it seem like he has ungracious fans who want the spotlight to shine solely on their Idol and on no one else. And as we’ve all come to know, that is so not the way Kris is himself.

Rolling Stone Magazine has been in the business for a very long time and is a better judge of who should be on their own cover than you or I.
It is a music news magazine, and they feature musicians…. in the news.

Love him or hate him Adam has landed smack dab in the middle of the music news with a very large splash, so I think it a no brainer that they do a comprehensive story. Covers help sell issues and it’s becoming more and more clear that Adam sells.
I think we all better get used to it.

wow, i wasn’t that big of a fan of adam on the show (i think mostly thanks to the judges tongue-baths), but the more i see him in post-show interviews, the more i’m loving his personality. i really hope he and kris both do extremely well.

I am about 15 shades of red and purple right now, but I think that Adam/Kris interview about the bunks and the jacket is my favorite interview in the history of all interviews.

Hey naomit – the EW with Adam on the cover was available at Chapters in Canada (not sure if you are near a one!) I picked one up last week.

Throw me in with your support group. I have it bad. I never have spent this many hours rewatching his performances, looking for new information, pictures. Have tickets to the tour, but not till September!! – what a quick wit Adam has and what a sense of humor. In fact on the Larry King interview when they asked the group who the smartest one was and they said Anoop, I really was thinking, no Adam. “It’s a really, really cool thing,” the American Idol runner-up says, “to be able to show people that you can be yourself, and you should be proud of yourself, and you should own who you are and what you’re about, and never make apologies for it.”

So to those who speculate about his sexuality, he has a message. “Calm down,” he says, and “keep speculating.”

Lambert, 27, who finished second to Kris Allen in the show that ended May 20, says his comfort in himself can serve as an example. “It feels really amazing to be able to try and pass that on to kids and young adults who don’t have a role model like that,” he says. “It feels great because I never had a role model like that.”

“Conforming is not cool,” he adds. “Embracing who you are and what makes you different is actually what’s really cool . . . The kids that are different and out there and expressive and are bold with those choices, those are the people that grow up to be people we all want to hang out with, that become celebrities or become really successful in what they do because they believe in who they are.”

As for all the talk about his personal life, Lambert says just one word when asked if he’ll address his sexuality directly, say in an upcoming issue of Rolling Stone: “Maybe.”

MJ thank you so much for posting all of these great interviews we really appreciate it..he carries himself so well and is so articulate and savvy its really refreshing to see someone in the entertainment industry who can think things through critically and have his shit together and be so grounded..I know he’s just starting but something tells me that’s just how he is…I’m sooo happy for him and you know I’m not one to bash on Kris fans oor on any other contestants and I wont out of respect for the,m and courtesy for Adam but his loss, as fan, was difficult to cope with and I must say all the things you post here really help to get over it in a way…some ppl are just ardent fans and they go to extremes which I don’t condone but hey…like someone said in an earlier post, this is a democracy and we are all entitled to our own opinion. Mine just happens to be that he is brilliant! I think the Queen thing for like a special event sounds awesome, I would pay to see that…and I think its his style that brings so many ppl from different generations together and I love how at one point he said in one interview how rock will be at the heart of things..love that, I mean he really is a rock star.

Thats what I thought when I read that, because that question isn’t in any of Adam’s other RS interviews.

Hmmmm…I hope he is on the cover of Rolling Stone but I am so tired of questions about his sexual preference & I hope he says nothing about it in Rolling Stone. He is sex personified & that won’t change regardless of a formal announcement about who he prefers to sleep with & a declaration that he is gay won’t change my view of him one wit. He knows all the speculation only makes him that much more interesting to the media. I think he honestly feels it is nobody’s business other than him & whoever is so blessed to be sleeping with him.

I also commend that Brad guy (the one identified as the guy making out w/Adam in those pics) b/c he could put himself in the spotlight & he has not. You know most media outlets would listen if he talked, but he hasn’t & that is commendable. I am sure he is happy for Adam’s success.

I’ve rarely seen any artist so poised and comfortable in his own skin. What a delight he is. David Cook will probably always be my favorite of the Idol contestants, but I just flove both Adam and Kris (and Allison!).

For all the crazy shit that American Idol doles out every year, they have — in spite of themselves for the most part — really given America some terrific talents over the past eight seasons.

And Adam could end up being the most successful of all. He clearly knows Idol made that possible for him. Ya gotta give credit where credit is due.
