Adam Lambert Discussed on the View 12/07/09

The ladies of the View discuss Adam Lambert’s upcoming performance on the View later this week. Barbara claims his appearance will be taped ahead of time, “People seem to be afraid of what he might do…”

Sherri and Elisabeth mention the Adam fans who “bombarded” them via twitter, calling Sherri homophobic, and warning the ladies to be “nice to Adam”.

Should be an interesting segment! Adam will appear on The View Thursday December 10. The night before, December 9, he’ll appear on Barbara Walter’s 10 Most Fascinating People at 10/9c pm.

If you haven’t had enough Adam after that, Watch him on Larry King Live on CNN at 9 pm Thursday, December 10.

Video after the JUMP…

  1. I can’t wait!! Bet he’s gonna be super sweet to all the ladies-charm their socks off!!

  2. Elizabeth is an idiot … it’s simulated not real. So it bothered her when Adam did the digital simulated sex but she wouldn’t dare say that the face into crotch bothered her. Why?

Wow those Glambert fans are hella cray cray.

  3. If you haven’t had enough Adam after that, Watch him on Larry King Live on CNN at 9 pm Thursday, December 10.

    lol

  4. Adam is getting a lot of amazing press that most stars don’t get until they are known enough. Barbara Walters, Larry King…wow. No wonder is album is selling so well.

  5. rockchick FTW!!! Nice one. So true.

Sherri is a bit annoying on the topic too. She’s kind of playing both sides. So you want him to reenact the performance but you DIDN’T like it? Were you coming in from church at 10:50pm when Adam was performing? No, the two analogies just don’t work. Janet’s bare tit-tay coming out was much more scandalous. It was during the day, it was the Superbowl! Adam was on the AMA’s. Big whoop. Can’t wait to see Adam charm the poles right out of their asses!!!

  6. Sherri and Elisabeth mention the Adam fans who ‘bombarded’ them via twitter, calling Sherri homophobic, and warning the ladies to be ‘nice to Adam’ .

UUGGHH. Get new rhetoric, crazy fans.

God forbid they don’t kiss his ass…

Having enough of Adam?…..Is this even possible? I know for some they had enough after seeing him once on American Idol….I on the other hand am super happy with every appearance he is going to make. I actually want more! ;-)

  8. When Barbara said “people are scared of what he might do”, I think that was for the ABC executives. She said it in kind of a mocking way. I don’t think she meant that she was scared herself.

I wish Whoopi was going to be there.

Me too. Sads she will not be.

  10. Sherri and Elisabeth mention the Adam fans who ‘bombarded’ them via twitter, calling Sherri homophobic, and warning the ladies to be ‘nice to Adam’ .

Note to those who Twittered…….GET LIVES!!! Adam is a big boy and can take care of himself with these women.

  11. Sherri and Elisabeth mention the Adam fans who ‘bombarded’ them via twitter, calling Sherri homophobic, and warning the ladies to be ‘nice to Adam’ .

UUGGHH. Get new rhetoric, crazy fans.

God forbid they don’t kiss his ass’ ¦

Oh, they don’t need to kiss his ass at all. They just need to think before they speak.

Those two get paid a lot of money to babble inanely. So I think it’s good for them to get the tweet treatment. Maybe they will put some more thought into what they say.

  12. Well I just want him to perform a song. If he is going to do that? Great, if not, whatevahs. Though I’m sure that Adam will be perfectly nice to Elizabeth and Sherri. Though I still wish that Elizabeth’s head would explode. It’s not Adam, but I just don’t like her. She’s not even a good voice for Conservatives because she’s such a moron.

Oh and let me say again, dear Babs, shoosh about how worried you were about Adam’s performance being taped because it could be ohhh so naughty. First off it’s highly doubtful that Adam would do that, as you well know, given all his other performances since the AMAs. And if he was being taped because of scheduling conflicts, and he is going to be on LKL in LA the next day, then go with that. Oh and really that Adam will be performing on LKL? I know some people say that happens, but I’ve never seen that. Though I’m not a huge LKL watcher, but for the right guests I’ve sat through his show and I’ve never seen that. But I’m not an expert, so there is that.

  13. This is probably one of the Adam interviews I’m really interested to see.

I’m sure he will end up being able to use his charm as others have mentioned. He’s really good at that in interviews I think.

This should definitely be interesting though, no doubt.

  14. I’m sure Adam will be just fine using his wit and charm to disarm the ladies. Although he might have one fewer supporter with Whoopi gone, the conversation will only be split 5 ways instead of 6, so more Adam :)

  15. Oh, they don’t need to kiss is ass at all. They just need to think before they speak.

Because they do that ever? It’s The View. I don’t understand why that section of his fanbase feels the need to harass others in the name of someone they don’t even know.

  16. I love how Adam’s fans are so “protective” of him. Adam loves his passionate fans, as evidenced in a recent interview I heard (can’t remember which one).

As far as getting enough of Adam….there is NO SUCH THING! I could see him every day and it wouldn’t be enough.

Kudos to Barbara Walters for what appeared to be a “calling out” of ABC Execs who seem to be acting nervous about putting Adam live. It is obvious from her comment that SHE was not worried about Adam going “out-of-bounds”.

I would also like to add: there is really nothing wrong with taped performances….as long as he is out there singing and entertaining us, I don’t care if it is live or taped, as long as he sings and charms us all with his warm, funny, wonderful self!!!

  17. “This morning on The View, Barbara Walters said that this Thursday’s appearance by Adam Lambert will be taped in advance, rather than live-to-tape as usual, ‘because people seem to be afraid of what he’ll do.’ Sherri Shepherd laughed at this excessive caution. ‘Why?’ she asked. ‘Is he gonna take one of our heads and grind it into his crotch?’ Joy Behar, perhaps feeling a tad faint as this image entered her mind, said, ‘I wish he would. I’d like to see it up close.’ And although no one asked her, Elisabeth Hasselbeck said, ‘The only thing I was against was him sticking his hand up the woman’s crotch’ during the American Music Awards.”

    I love Joy!!

It’s easy to talk about someone when they’re not there. It will be fun to watch Adam charm them.

  18. The 2 ladies on the right got upset because of the twits that they got from Adam’s fans. It’s hilarious, Adam is protected by an army. No one dare to harm him.

  19. Because they do that ever? It’s The View. I don’t understand why that section of his fanbase feels the need to harass others in the name of someone they don’t even know.

Hey, I wouldn’t care if people were tweeting them about Eminem. I guess I feel that people who have a platform to speak to the general public on a regular basis should put thought into what they say. Again, they get paid the big bucks. Why shouldn’t they get “feedback” on opinions they are paid to make? I’ve never understood why some folks feel that critics and television talking heads should never be contacted.

  20. The 2 ladies on the right got upset because of the twits that they got from Adam’s fans. It’s hilarious, Adam is protected by an army. No one dare to harm him.

People are laughing and rolling their eyes at his “protective” fans just like they did the Claymates. It really isn’t necessary to harass people online just because they don’t share the same view of Adam. Those tweets weren’t “constructive,” they were assy. It doesn’t make people reconsider their negative opinions of Adam, his music, or his actions. If anything it gives people who don’t like him an even dimmer view because his fans act like morons. Between harassing his “enemies” and sucking up on Twitter to anybody remotely connected to him, it seems like some folks need to find real friends and real lives.

  21. I don’t understand why that section of his fanbase feels the need to harass others in the name of someone they don’t even know.

Eh, there are portions of every fanbase that do this for everyone. There are tons of really assy things Tweeted TO Adam every day as well, so what?

I mean I was on a board where one of the writers was complaining because people were Tweeting her about the craptastic writing of the show. And other producers/writers on Twitter have complained about the same thing.

But not everyone decides to shun Twitter like Miley did in protest of stupid people Tweeting.

Twitter is mostly the devil, just as a general rule. Nature of the beast.

  22. whatup peeps :)
Well honestly I wouldnt tweet anyone telling what to do or not to do but I guess I understand the concern…Adam has repeatedly that the “shocking” parts of his performances were not rehearsed so I dont anything wrong with them wanting to take extra precautions even though we all know Adam isnt going to be doing those things anytime soon, especially not on WWFM…honestly Im just glad he is still getting press and hopefully the focus will shift back to his music where it belongs…
cant wait to see him tour..does anyone have an idea of how his album is doing on the charts this week?

  23. And I would put money on the fact that the bulk of Adam’s Army is made up of straight women…go figure. Sexy is sexy and adorable is adorable. He’s just the best from his head to his toes and we love him. I really think the one thing about him that makes him so attractive to us and just plain sexy is that he can articulate his thoughts and feelings and most of the men we know can’t or won’t. That is so freaking attractive. AND to top it off, he’s drop dead gorgeous (acne smacknee, no one cares) and he can sing like a bird. More please!!!!!

  24. Eh, there are portions of every fanbase that do this for everyone. There are tons of really assy things Tweeted TO Adam every day as well, so what?

Yup!! The best thing to do is just ignore it.

  25. Were you coming in from church at 10:50pm when Adam was performing? No, the two analogies just don’t work. Janet’s bare tit-tay coming out was much more scandalous.

Yeah, you’d have thought Adam unzipped and pulled it out. That was actually Janet’s bare breast folks. Nothing about Adam’s performance was real but for the kiss. Get some perspective. I’m sure Sherri and Elizabeth are offended by viagra and tampon commercials too.

As for twittering about Adam, these women make big bucks running their mouths. If Twitter is the worst of their inconveniences, they should be grateful. Let them suffer the onslaught of Twitter then maybe they will understand that there are consequences for giving their idiotic opinions.

  26. The poor ladies of The View are soooo sensitive!!! Aw….poor babies.

  27. That Hasselback or whatever her last name is… should be shot. LOL I forgot the name of the lady with the red hair. She is witty and intelligent.

  28. Elizabeth says she had a problem “with him sticking his hand up the woman’s crotch because it was a little bit aggressive.” Look again, E. Did you notice the same woman you reference, put her stiletto heeled boot between his legs while he was seated? Who really was in control? He had a lot more to lose than she…just sayin’

  29. dhunken….totally agree with you about Adam’s appearances. What are we going to do when this media blitz is over? Other than the Peoples’ Choice Awards on January 6th where we might just see him on the red carpet, who knows when else we will see him. A tour? That’s gonna take a while. So I am going to relish each and every bit of seeing him because it’s gonna be over before you know it.

  30. I forgot the name of the lady with the red hair. She is witty and intelligent.

  31. why are fans saying sherri is homophobic?. I thought that was hasselbeck . since when did sherri become all holy, didn’t she once confess to drugs, abortions & other nasty stuff.

  32. I can not stand any of the women on this show. I would just as soon stick needles in my eyes as watch them. That said, I certainly don’t think any of them should be shot for expressing their views on tv, which is, after all, what they’re paid for. The whole premise of this show is to have 4 women with different viewpoints discussing topical issues. Tolerance should be a two way street.

I’m sure Adam will do fine on this show and they will all fawn over him.

  33. kind of new to posting here, although I have been lurking for months. can’t figure out how to quote other comments, so I’ll just do this:

    ” Those tweets weren’t ‘constructive,’ ”

imho, most likely the majority of all tweets are not constructive, and if people really didn’t want to hear from the twitter-ers they would not follow twitter. just sayin’…..

  34. How can women who spout off about their opinions day after day be so sensitive? Wah…..I’m being Twittacked! Ridiculous. Who gives a shit? Are they serious? I love Joy Behar…she’s just like…whatever!

  35. I don’t think it’s a minority. I think 75% of everything said on twitter is just meaningless crap, and some of those thoughts just never need to be said out loud

Much less typed and sent to someone, anyone, the universe, Ã ¦ther, or whatever.

  36. In my city Adam’s CD sold out at Target and at Best Buy, so his sales were a wee bit limited by that, no biggie. it is an insignifant amout Black Eye Peas etc retreated, I’ve looked up the singers and songs of others to hear them, to find something I might like, and I think a lot of the singers are not good- it must be a teen thing, and the hip hop is awful, so I will just stay with who and what I like. Adam Lambert is my fave, his CD is magic and I am very satisfied with passing on so many of the others. I do love my Muse’the Resistence’ and Lady Gaga as well. And Bocelli- oh yes. So Adam remaisn my american idol fave still.

  37. why are fans saying sherri is homophobic?. I thought that was hasselbeck . since when did sherri become all holy, didn’t she once confess to drugs, abortions & other nasty stuff.

I’ll make no attempt to discern who is or isn’t holy, homophobic or whatever as I don’t watch the view regularly enough to say. But I’d like to point out that your question (“who is saying Sherri is homophobic?”) is unrelated to whether or not Sherri is all holy as you put it and is unrelated to drugs, to abortions and to many other assorted things. Tolerance and acceptance in one area does not translate to tolerance or acceptance in other areas.

I’m right there with ya’. I cannot stand this show. But, I get the point of the round-table format, and they should all be entitled to their say, even when I disagree with them. Elizabeth is a special kind of moron though. It doesn’t bother me however, as there are plenty of other idiots on tv.

I can’t watch this show, so I’m hoping MJ gets a performance video that includes very little of the talking :)

  39. Barabara Walters talking about Adam with her producer ( I think)in her dressing room.

As a non American I just have to say that this is really too much. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS.

    http://ow.ly/JCvx

I can’t really see why they are creating such a media stir over this. Adam is definetely not driving this story. ABC is pushing it with all they got, making it humungous.

It’s like they are acting in a japanse pantomine or something.

  40. Here are some tweets I found…Tweeters remain anonymous…These are all addressed to Elizabeth Hasselbeck. There are a lot more having to do with other things that Elizabeth has said to piss people off. But, I think their choice to address the Tweets on the show have made the situation worse!!

Did U know @adamlambert help raise over $250K for KIDS??? STOP your witch hunt!

So did you WATCH the AMAs? U were ok w Janet grabbing a man’s crotch? STOP the witch hunt of @adamlambert

Did U know @adamlambert help raise over $250K for KIDS??? Talk about that.

Thank U for having @adamlambert on the View. He is the most talented singer to come along in years. He’s really very sweet.

U sound ignorant when u make strong comments about things u know nothing about, like who Adam Lambert is.

Don’t judge Adam Lambert on one performance. You will love him when you meet him. (Lucky !)

Don’t try to make Adam look bad. It will only make you look like you are ganging up on him. We luv ADam!

Please dont talk shit about Adam Lambert. He did not stick his hand up a girls crotch at the AMAs Elizabeth.

  41. I never watch ‘The View’. Frankly, I don’t find the people hosting it as the ‘great minds of the 21st century’! I really don’t pay attention to what they think about anything. That said….I’m going to find out when it’s on here and watch because I want to see Adam.

I have never twittered but those two complaining about getting tweets from Adam’s fans…..well I think they should realize it comes with the territory. They are in the public eye so when they say something people will react and sometimes contact them. Twitter seems to be the ‘popular’ form of communicating these days.

And I don’t care if Adam’s performance is being tape…I just want to see and hear him perform!

  42. I’m right there with ya’. I cannot stand this show. But, I get the point of the round-table format, and they should all be entitled to their say, even when I disagree with them. Elizabeth is a special kind of moron though. It doesn’t bother me however, as there are plenty of other idiots on tv.

Although having someone as part of that discussion who once wasn’t sure if the earth is flat, probably doesn’t bode well for the level of that discussion. But sure, they can express whatever view (hee) they want and I support their right to do so. And I support my right to either a.) avoid them b.) usually mock them when I do see them.

  43. So much for the “Adam has a scheduling conflict” excuse for the pre-taping. Barbara admitted that ABC won’t let them have him on live. That explanation never did make sense anyway.

I wish Whoopi was going to be there.

Me too. Sads she will not be.

How do we know she won’t be? Is she on vacation all this week?

  44. Truthiness, I am firmly on the team for both option “a” and “b”, with the mocking part being the most fun. Although, I do tend not to mock Barbara, because even when she’s a little clueless, I still think she’s pretty awesome.

  45. They also suddenly had a selective memory, because CBS morning show was live.

  46. becausehelives, if you ever read rickey.org you’ll see these born again gay rights people (the fans) will call anyone homophobic who dares criticize their savior.

  47. For some reason I don’t find any of those tweets to Elisabeth to be that bad. If you were to write a snail mail you might say the same things.

  48. I think Adam with charm the knickers off the View ladies. Well maybe with the exception of the young one – who’s knickers are so far up her- you know!

  49. Having to tape him because he might do something unsavory is beyond ridiculous. HaHa.
I consider myself passionate about Adam. There’s a difference between OTT & passionate. I’m not on Twitter, so no tweets from me. I bought only 2 copies of his cd (one physical & one digital). I went to only one tour concert. And so on. But I am passionate about the Man & His Music (to quote a Sinatra album title).
Honestly? I think everyone connected to The View is over the moon about this publicity. Especially the so-called “hosts”. All those tweets? They LOVE it.

Thanks IdolThoughts for the tweets. But I have to say…that’s it? Seriously, I thought the tweets would be a lot worse the way the women on the View were going on about it and by the way some posters were going on. Maybe I’m just callous.

  51. becausehelives, if you ever read rickey.org you’ll see these born again gay rights people (the fans) will call anyone homophobic who dares criticize their savior.

I’d sooner watch the View than read rickey.

  52. I have never twittered but those two complaining about getting tweets from Adam’s fans’ ¦..well I think they should realize it comes with the territory. They are in the public eye so when they say something people will react and sometimes contact them. Twitter seems to be the ‘popular’ form of communicating these days.

It’s the tone of the tweets or emails. It’s one thing to email or tweet a commentator and say “wow, I see it totally different than you and here’s why.” It’s another thing entirely to throw around insults, veiled threats, and childish name calling. I don’t like Elisabeth either but she certainly doesn’t deserve to be shot, nor does she deserve to be called names or harassed on Twitter. By the same reasoning, people who harass Adam or any celeb on Twitter need to find lives, too. Getting so wrapped up in a celebrity that you actually take it personally when another person dislikes them or disagrees with them is the very definition of overinvested. It’s one thing to occasionally mock a celeb, it’s another thing to seek them out personally via email or twitter and harass them.

  53. Hm, wonder what the ratings will be?

Adam Lambert Proves a Magnet for Controversy, if Not Viewers

CBS Early show drew 2.51 million, which was down from the 2.63 the week prior. Granted it was the Wednesday before Thanksgiving.

GMA’s rating improved to 4.5 million from the week prior of 4.36 millon.

Um just to correct you but the CBS Early show drew 2.61 million viewes which was in the article you posted which also said was on par with the 2.63 they got the past 4 weeks.

So basically he didn’t help or hurt ratings.

  54. For some reason I don’t find any of those tweets to Elisabeth to be that bad. If you were to write a snail mail you might say the same things.

Neither she nor Sheri said the tweets were bad, just that they were getting “bombarded” with them.

  55. I’ll make no attempt to discern who is or isn’t holy, homophobic or whatever as I don’t watch the view regularly enough to say. But I’d like to point out that your question (‘ who is saying Sherri is homophobic?’ ) is unrelated to whether or not Sherri is all holy as you put it and is unrelated to drugs, to abortions and to many other assorted things. Tolerance and acceptance in one area does not translate to tolerance or acceptance in other areas.

my 2 points / questions are not related. i asked why fans are calling sherri homophobic becos i may have missed an incident where she portrayed that. my 2nd point is from sherri saying she was offended by the crotch in face and the sexual nature of the performance, ( i know she has every right to be whatever) but she was once a wild child herself so when did she become prim & proper. i just don’t expect righteousness from someone with her past . so no the 2 are not related.

  56. As a non American I just have to say that this is really too much. TOTALLY RIDICULOUS.

    http://ow.ly/JCvx

I can’t really see why they are creating such a media stir over this. Adam is definetely not driving this story. ABC is pushing it with all they got, making it humungous.

But, Adam can go on the CBS MORNING SHOW (which was also live) and interview and perform two songs. Hell, they practically made him co-host for the morning. Notice how they conveniently left this appearance out.
Then, Adam is scheduled to perform LIVE on the finale of SYTYCD.
My question is- Why cancel Kimmel? It is recorded also!
This whole ABC uproar is riddled with inconsistencies.

  57. will
    12/07/2009 at 4:28 pm
So much for the ‘Adam has a scheduling conflict’ excuse for the pre-taping. Barbara admitted that ABC won’t let them have him on live. That explanation never did make sense anyway.

Adam is performing in Los Angeles on Wednesday 12/09/09 at the ADL Dinner honoring Steven Speilberg. He is scheduled to sing the US National Anthem. That event is scheduled to end at 10:00PM PT. To get to NY to be on The View live at 11:00AM ET would require him to take a private jet and fly into NY but that doesn’t seem like a big deal to do.

But the whole dressing room Barbara video just seemed like a forced effort to get people to watch both of her show — and drum up a false controversy. Adam was Live on the CBS Morning Show and will be live on SYTYCD finale on Fox. This is just Disney being Disney.

I wish Whoopi was going to be there.

Me, too. I could give a damn what they say. I guarantee you they will kiss up to him, he will be charming, he and the band will play, and we will all move on. If Adam was really concerned, he would have said no, I’m sure.

Just let him sing. And give him a slot on Carson Daly’s NBC NYE program.

  59. Barbara was being facetious when she said “who knows what he’ll do.” It was snark and/or hype. It appears logical he’s being pre-taped for convenience sake. People tend to take what is said too literally without looking at the other facts and the context.

  60. Q3 the reason the “scheduling conflict” excuse makes no sense is that they could have had him on live whichever day he was going to be in NYC for the pre-taping, No?

  61. How can women who spout off about their opinions day after day be so sensitive? Wah’ ¦..I’m being Twittacked! Ridiculous.

Don’t think they are sensitive, but trying to put some distance between themselves and ABC’s original decision to cancel all of Adam’s appearances on the network and current ban on any live performances. After all, the guy is going to a guest on their show and sit not far from them.

    http://ow.ly/JCvx

The obvious winner in all this is Barbara Walters. She gets him on both shows – Adam’s exclusively hers on ABC. She smells ratings and is letting nothing stop her.

  62. How do we know she won’t be? Is she on vacation all this week?

Will I think Whoopi is in England this week for some Royal thing a ma gig in front of the Queen. Lady Gaga and Michael Bubble are also performing at the event.

  63. I’m sorry but however I look at it ABC comes off as being just ridiculous.

  64. Well I didn’t think Adam would hurt the CBS ratings – or result in a dip however nominal it was — or just stay flat. Because CBS was very quick to grab him after GMA fell through, so clearly they saw a story there. Regardless, it was curious to see that the ratings stay flat.

Given how Dancing With the Stars had finished the night prior, am really not surprised in the increased viewership for GMA.

Does anyone know what the ratings are for the View?

  65. It’s the tone of the tweets or emails. It’s one thing to email or tweet a commentator and say ‘wow, I see it totally different than you and here’s why.’ It’s another thing entirely to throw around insults, veiled threats, and childish name calling. I don’t like Elisabeth either but she certainly doesn’t deserve to be shot, nor does she deserve to be called names or harassed on Twitter.

But Elizabeth probably gets tons of negative, nasty, Tweets all the time. I won’t check, but she says some really stupid/offensive stuff (this isn’t an Adam thing, to be clear, this is an Elizabeth thing) and when she does, I’m sure people want to Tweet to disagree with her about it. Maybe it won’t be for a particular person, but I’m sure that depending on the topic, and depending on what she said, that she gets lots of feedback. But typically what Elizabeth says isn’t usually about a person they’re going to be having on soon.

No one deserves to be mocked or called names on Twitter, but it happens to all celebs. Again, check out the replies TO Adam, I’m sure they aren’t all nice. And again, I’m betting that Elizabeth gets puh-lenty of negative Tweets when giving one of her special bon-nots.

  66. need to find lives, too. Getting so wrapped up in a celebrity that you actually take it personally when another person dislikes them or disagrees with them is the very definition of overinvested.

Some people would say that commenting on blogs about celebreties are a waste of time also. I’m sure there are those out there who would say that posters on an AI site are overinvested and need to “get lives”.

If you have a public twitter account, you open yourself up for anonymous comments. Kris fans bombared Alison Porter this summer. (one wished that she would be raped)Just last week, a VFTW regular was harrassing Aimee Mayo. Justin Beiber fans were saying all kinds of vile things about Adam yesterday.

It’s not right. But, Adam fans ARE NOT the only ones who misuse twitter.

  67. Oh, they don’t need to kiss his ass at all. They just need to think before they speak.

Those two get paid a lot of money to babble inanely. So I think it’s good for them to get the tweet treatment. Maybe they will put some more thought into what they say.

Likewise Adam is making a living as an entertainer and like everyone else in his field, he is expected to think before he acts on live television. This he did not do, by his own admission, and yet people who have criticized him for it have all been branded stupid prudes and/or homophobes and ABC’s actions have been compared to atrocious hate crimes by the same people who are tweeting the women on The View, for daring to have an opinion on Adam that isn’t 100% glowing.

Same could be said for the growing number of comments Adam makes in interviews that rub people the wrong way. He puts it out there for public consumption, so the public has the right to comment on it, yet the minute one person takes issue with him, the overly passionate portion of his fan base jumps on them and makes judgments about “the hater” for which they have no real basis, and very rarely do I see other Adam fans call them out on it.

Seems a bit hypocritical to me to defend people’s rights to tweet someone whose personal belief systems they have no firsthand knowledge of and accuse them of hating an entire group of people under the guise of critiquing them on their job performance while either participating in or ignoring fellow fans’ participation in a campaign to silence anyone who doesn’t defend Adam’s right to “be himself” (purposely shock people for attention) and “do his thing” (risk FCC violations being slapped on companies who have been nothing but kind to him) and “live his life” (go about his business denying his culpability in his own actions).

I’d like to think he’s learned his lesson, but how can he when he’s practically been rewarded by everyone but ABC? Maybe if he weren’t being treated with kid gloves, his critics could teach him proper television etiquette the way the tweets could be “help” Sherri and Elizabeth.

At least the people criticizing Adam are taking issue with his actual words and actions, whereas I’m seeing a lot of his detractors getting criticized for supposedly holding beliefs they’ve never expressed themselves but are being assigned to them by Adam fans who cannot fathom they might have a reason to complain about something he does besides their being a homophobe, sexually repressed, sexist, and/or a big ol’ meanie Kris/Allison/Danny/David Cook fan.

The right to b*tch on the internet about the stupid things celebrities does goes both ways, people. Even when that celebrity is Adam Lambert.

  68. Maybe Elizabeth and Adam can find some common ground on both having been contestants on reality shows. Oh, wait. He can sing and has talent, she ate bugs in the Australian Outback. Maybe not.

Q3 the reason the ‘scheduling conflict’ excuse makes no sense is that they could have had him on live whichever day he was going to be in NYC for the pre-taping, No?

I totally agree. And even with the schedule Adam has, it is possible for him to do it live. (Unless there is a new event that is unannounced.)

I am wondering if they are trying to make excuses for the press release that said scheduling conflict because I think Adam will be in NY on 12/10 to do the Larry King LIVE show — but not sure because LKL has studios in NY and LA. Has anyone seen where LKL will be broadcast from?

Well I didn’t think Adam would hurt the CBS ratings ‘“ or result in a dip however nominal it was ‘” or just stay flat. Because CBS was very quick to grab him after GMA fell through, so clearly they saw a story there. Regardless, it was curious to see that the ratings stay flat.

There is almost nothing that moves the 3 morning shows — it is usually NBC Today Show 5.5 million, ABC GMA 4.3-4.4 million and CBS Early Show 2.6-2.7 million. The ratings for the morning news shows are more like evening news shows than entertainment shows — people have habits that they follow — and the movement is almost glacial. CBS did pick up a lot of online views and traffic from the appearance — so they MIGHT have ended up ahead.

  71. Has anyone seen where LKL will be broadcast from?

I’m guessing LKL in LA this time. Otherwise Adam could have taped The View on Thurs morn and LKL Thur eve if both were in NYC.

12/8 Adam tapes The View – NYC
    12/9 Speilberg – LA
    12/10 LKL – LA
    12/11 Jingle Balls – NYC

  72. Well, there is no way negative tweets are something new for Elisabeth. No way. Her opinions last fall around election time were nearly enough to give me a stroke. She has made many a controversial statement.

Should be a very interesting show. Generally I can’t stand The View, but I will Tivo it Thursday.

None of that is appropriate. The choice a person makes to have a public Twitter account does not excuse the behavior. That’s like saying a victim “asked for it.”

I don’t think the flat lining of the ratings for CBS has anything to do with Adam because
    1) It was done on such a short notice that many folks may not have been aware of the change. They really had to be reading an Idol blog or listening/watching a CBS news source to learn of the switch. Most of the articles about the change came after it happened.
    2) Some non-regular watchers might have thought Adam would be doing the regular one or two song gig and decided to catch it later on video or You Tube rather than watch the whole thing and
    3) Most importantly, it takes a lot, A LOT, for folks to change their viewing habits – especially in the mornings. (I for one, a huge Adam fan, was so busy that morning that I forgot to tune in.) I am sure there were many others who remembered after it was over only to, again, catch it here, on YouTube or give themselves a V8 head slam. Folks have their routine in the mornings and do what it takes to get them up and out the door on time!

I would bet if anything the spike at GMA was Adam related because people had more time to get the word that the controversy was going on there (and I wonder how many did tune in that morning to see Adam?)

  75. Sherri and Elisabeth mention the Adam fans who ‘bombarded’ them via twitter, calling Sherri homophobic, and warning the ladies to be ‘nice to Adam’ .

This reminds me of the way Clay fans defended him (I should say “over-defended him”) whenever they felt that tv, radio, djs, or the print media didn’t treat him right. Such actions have a tendency to backfire and give the fans a negative reputation.

I never liked Elizabeth because she’s an outspoken conservative and for years she was rigid, dogmatic, and spouted political talking points. She was shrill and loud. But, the past year I’ve seen a change in her. She seems to have toned it down a lot.

However I never saw her be the way she’s been described in these threads the past two days. She wasn’t rude and nasty to people, except maybe Rosie. She was just generally obnoxious and abrasive but in a polite way, if that makes sense.

I can’t help wondering if some of the comments are being made by people who really haven’t watched the show much, because I even see people saying that they don’t normally watch the show but will make an exception for Adam. Bottom line, I don’t like her, but she’s not the devil either, and I think the twitter ganging up thing is today’s lynch mob, and I am wary of lynch mobs, when people get worked up and think they are right no matter what. Most people don’t deserve to be treated that way imo. I don’t like Sherri either, but they aren’t evil and don’t deserve to be disrespected.

Finally, I think Adam doesn’t need this kind of zealous defending, it will only give his fans a bad name, and by default, it will reflect badly on him in the long run. Seen it before.

  76. And there’s a big difference between commenting on a blog, be it AI or politics or sports, and sitting around ALL DAY every day on Twitter or FB or MySpace, or mjs, trying to connect vicariously to a celeb via “protecting” them or tweeting his friends.

  77. ETA: for my comment above. Apparently he’s creating some hits/buzz or ratings for The View or they wouldn’t continue to bring him up.

  78. The View discusses hot topics. Adam’s a hot topic right now. They discuss all sorts of controversies. It doesn’t mean Adam’s special or unusual. It’s what they do on the View, day after day. They talk about hot topics and yes they hope for ratings. They probably talked about Tiger Wood and the couple who crashed the State Dinner. It’s what they do.

Also, I have never seen them be rude to a guest. They are always friendly and welcoming to every guest. There is no need to expect anything else with Adam. Sounds like some twitterers are anticipating trouble when there is none.

  79. The obvious winner in all this is Barbara Walters. She gets him on both shows ‘“ Adam’s exclusively hers on ABC. She smells ratings and is letting nothing stop her.

Exactly…… I love her comment about it being a doubleheader!
She seems to “get” how ridiculous all this is about banning Adam from doing a live performance on air. She also must have really liked him from the original interview to invite him to be a guest on “The View”.

None of that is appropriate. The choice a person makes to have a public Twitter account does not excuse the behavior. That’s like saying a victim ‘asked for it.’

No,I am not “blaming the victim”. You conveniently left part of my comment out. Please read it again.

  81. Ever since Sherri was hesistant about acknowledging that the Earth was round because her bible did not tell her so (I kid you not), I’ve always hoped a guest would bring her a globe as a gift.

She CAN be very funny, in my VIEW, especially when she talks about motherhood, but also – unfortunately – very close-minded and kinda mean-spirited (that how she seems to me when she snarls “is he gonna grind one of our faces . . .”) To me, really, that’s a completely assinine and totally cheap shot. C’mon.

I could care less who tweets them or what they say – twitter’s the devil and no one is going to book/not book Adam because of twitter.

  82. Also, I have never seen them be rude to a guest. They are always friendly and welcoming to every guest. There is no need to expect anything else with Adam. Sounds like some twitterers are anticipating trouble when there is none.

Eh, there have been some tensions with guests like Bill OReilly or Bill Maher. Maybe it’s just a Bill thing?

  83. The ladies on the View are very opinionated on the show. I am sure they get complaints on there twitter all the time about their discussions. I remember Barbara Walters was horrified on an airplane that a mother nursed her baby while sitting next to her, I am sure that caused a stir. Adam tends to interview better with the ladies and is less defensive with them, so I think it will go OK.

  84. “but they aren’t evil and don’t deserve to be disrespected. ”

This was said earlier about Sherrie and Elizabeth and I watched the show this morning and they were passing around erroneous information and inuendo about Tiger Woods who wasn’t there to defend himself. If you are in a business where you make money gossiping and trying to flame the flames in order to get ratings, then you deserve to get the same kind of treatment. The View is primarily a gossip show directed at middle age stay at home females. It has no underlying redeeming factors so what is good for the goose is also good for the gander.

  85. My favorite show is Survivor. Elizabeth was on that show. Now shes a talk show host. I have watched The View since the first day it was on, with all the different co-hosts they have had. I laugh to myself ever since Liz has been on. They cut her off when she is speaking, or pan away from he when the other girls are talking. Shes a filler, a nothing to say reality star, and I say star lightly. Anyhow what ever she says means nothing to me. She has had 3 kids on the show, and needs to stay home with them. Shes no Kelly Ripa, a Soap Opera star, that brings something to the table with Regis. Liz needs not to be spouting her mouth off about Adam. The other girls werent, and she did it to get attention. She better be nice to Adam, he never did anything to her. That’s my Elizabeth rampage.

  86. Also, I have never seen them be rude to a guest. They are always friendly and welcoming to every guest. There is no need to expect anything else with Adam. Sounds like some twitterers are anticipating trouble when there is none

First of all I think twittering is a useless exercise in most cases. Any celebrity who has an account has a big fat ego if they think the whole world wants/needs to know they are having a latte or whatever. If they don’t want to expose themselves to inane comments all they have to do is close their account or restrict it to personal friends and family. Problem solved.

As far as being rude to a guest, I highly doubt the ladies of The View will be rude to Adam, but there was one incident involving Glen Beck in which they were not making much effort to play nice. Appears he told a lie about them on his show and came on their show to smooth it over but they were still mad at him, talk about the big chill. I thoroughly enjoyed it because Glen Beck deserved it.

My main problem with the show is something that irritates the hell out of me but which is not by any means limited to The View. They often talk about stuff which they really haven’t watched or read about and make assumptions based on lack of information. However, in the case of the AMAs I have a feeling that Elisabeth watched and rewatched the tape (before it got pulled down) and probably got more excited each time she saw it. :)

BTW Sherrie is not homophobic and neither is Elisabeth. Joy is the smartest person on the show and I’m glad she’s going to be there.

  87. Maybe Elizabeth and Adam can find some common ground on both having been contestants on reality shows. Oh, wait. He can sing and has talent, she ate bugs in the Australian Outback. Maybe not.

    Love this…… LOL!!!

  88. Adam tends to interview better with the ladies and is less defensive with them, so I think it will go OK.

I sure hope so. Part of me is thinking that he is being thrown to the wolves……. :(

  89. I didn’t look at the article, but regarding the ratings of the CBS show Adam was on, I would look to see what the ratings traditionally were the day before Thanksgiving. Also I know someone mention that for the week, that GMA’s ratings were up for the week, but not the day before Thanksgiving. And were they up over last week or over last year’s ratings? And with both CBS’s Early Show and GMA, I would ask then what are their general rating trends, are they as a whole gaining viewers or losing them? I have no idea about the outcome and again, can’t access the article right now, so no idea if these things are addressed. And honestly? eh. Adam may be a null effect on ratings, which considering that he was considered also a pariah and baaad man, maybe that’s a good thing. I just want him to be on shows singing and for him to be able to put SOME focus back on his music again.

That’s all I want at this point. I think it’s pretty obvious that for Adam, last week didn’t help his sales, so I just hope that he can get more exposure for his music going forward. So that’s all I really care about his appearing on The View means to me.

Well that and potential chances to mock Elizabeth and/or possibly Sherri because those are always just fun in general.

  90. I wonder if Adam will be able to get a word in edgewise tomorrow. I hope he sticks his ground without being defensive.

  91. Well, there is nothing worse than rabid fans complaining. A.I. fans are so passionate about their favorites as if they have an intimate relationship with them, a personal stake in their careers, etc., & therefore they are out in full force though often dismissed as “those A.I. fanatic fans.” They bombard the internet, send emails, do polls, send petitions, post nasty twitters, harrass radio stations, etc. They aren’t the general public. People know that the general public most often than not don’t bother to respond, but there are exceptions.

My take on this, for those that weren’t aware of Adam’s performance on AMAs (YES THERE ARE SOME), the more he is booked & interviewed to discuss his contraversial performance, the more the general public gets up to speed. There are many people out there who did not watch that performance, don’t watch A.I., they don’t generally search the internet or even use the computer, or buy some magazines where he might have been featured. Way to ensure more people are aware of it now. Spread the word!!

I’m sorry but however I look at it ABC comes off as being just ridiculous.

None of us know the heat ABC is getting. They are a business & therefore they do what they have to do. Nobody owes Adam Lambert anything at this point. FCC gets complaints on programs that might not be suitable or don’t have the proper PG Ratings or warnings that some content may not be suitable for younger audiences. Then, the sponsors start suing. Both Disney & ABC will be fined. Hence, Disney will insist that the performers, who were not held accountable in the past, don’t vary from their rehearsed performance. They no doubt will have to record those performance to ensure that the rules are enforced. They want to cover their “butts” so now rather than the networks/stations/whatever paying hefty fines, the performers will bear the brunt. Sometimes there are performers who have done questionable things on TV in the past & nobody make a big “f*ing” deal about it but it takes just one event to be “the straw that broke the camel’s back” and Adam’s performance was apparently just that. What a legacy to have! One can say he was singled out, that may be true, but it was the catalyst.

This may very well affect Adam negatively when he begins to tour. I guess State Fairs are out of the question because those promoters won’t want to risk him being “in the moment” & offending anyone & they are always live performances. Of course, I guess they can ask him to sign a contract explicitly prohibiting him to do certain things (again what a legacy), but there is no guarantee something will occur.

I don’t think Elizabeth should be bashed. I have seen the other co-hosts saying things that I don’t agree with. Isn’t that the point of the show “The View” where there is a diverse group of women there with their own opinions –both conservative, liberal, or in between, and they don’t just “follow the leader” or agree with everything? If everyone on that show agreed & never said anything that might not fit in with others’ opinions, such as Barbara or Whoopie, then there is no point in having the show. If there is heated debate, then that becomes interesting as long as there are no personal attacks against eachother. Seeing all the nasty comments about Elizabeth (by people whose name clearly indicates who they are a fan of) further cements the fact that if you don’t like Adam, then you are wrong & we’ll bash you and insult you… “eating bugs…”

  92. Maybe someone should send this to Elizabeth so she can see Adam was pulling on a piece of costume. http://s674.photobucket.com/albums/vv109/mediawop/?action=view&current=610x-1.jpg

sr4mjc, Fabulous photo – thanks for the link. Look where that dancer’s stiletto heeled boot is placed. If he has the trolly stop, does she have her foot on the break? Or maybe her costume was his way of ringing the alarm ….LOL…sorry…the picture made me say that…I apologize

Adam tends to interview better with the ladies and is less defensive with them, so I think it will go OK.

Best interview ever IMO was with Larry Flick.

Part of me is thinking that he is being thrown to the wolves’ ¦’ ¦.

I don’t think you have to worry. Their pack is not that ferocious.

  93. For the person defending Elisabeth, I don’t care that she has “opposing views” but she rattles on like someone on crack to the point that the mere sound of her voice bugs me. Plus she is so predictable. I already know what she’s going to say before she says it.

Sherrie on the other hand, you never know which side of the fence she’s gonna be on. I like that. I like Joy too, probably because I usually agree with her as I’m only human, but she’s pretty predictable too. Elisabeth will be polite but still try to get some type of zinger in, Joy will be somewhat amused by the whole thing and make a joke, Barbara will make nice, but Sherrie? She will be nice but only the good Lord can predict what she will say.

Hopefully it will all be good fun. At least they get to hear Adam sing, not sure all of them really know how good he is.

  94. Just wondering whether anyone has been tweeting details about the taping of Adam’s appearance. I’m guessing that Adam’s segment would have been taped after today’s show, since the audience would still be there. Has anyone here heard/seen anything on twitter? (Yes, it’s the devil, but it’s all we’ve got.)

  95. Part of me is thinking that he is being thrown to the wolves’ ¦’ ¦.

I don’t think you have to worry. Their pack is not that ferocious.

LOL…… Thank you, GaGaGlambert. Hopefully, I will sleep better tonight!

  96. Just wondering whether anyone has been tweeting details about the taping of Adam’s appearance. I’m guessing that Adam’s segment would have been taped after today’s show, since the audience would still be there.

His band was in transit today. Think it’s being taped tomorrow.

  97. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h0w_duuaYkI&feature=related

someone compiled quite a few of Elizabeths rants and raves –

As much as I love you, sumidol, IDK what this has to do with anything…they all rant about their opinions, and I highly doubt she’s going to attack Adam like a rabid dog or something. Just because she’s conservative doesn’t mean she’s the placeholder for the FCC, whom everyone hates now.

  98. I so wish Adam will start singing some of his better songs on these shows. he has a great album but he keeps missing on these opportunities by singing the mediocre songs everywhere he goes (FYE, and whatday want from me). his first single should have been music again and the second one broken open or soaked. they show his crazy vocal range, different sides of his personality and style and are sooo much better than the ones he actually performs.

  99. If you are on twitter, people will tweet you. If celebrities don’t want to be “tweeted” then don’t be on there. I find it as kind of like sending a short email to someone. Sorry but if you’re in the public eye, that’s whats going to happen. As far as Adam’s fans being crazy….what’s your point? If people want to stick up for him to someone who is saying negative things about him, good for them. Did anyone complain about the 1500 people who actually called ABC to complain about Adam? No, because it is there right to do so. If you put yourself out there, you have to take the good with the bad. I think Adam’s fans are passionate about him. Plus it gets really annoying that ALL of his fans are lumped into one crazy group. That is not the case. But whatever, it really doesn’t matter. If you think Kris’s fans don’t get worked up, you are dead wrong. It just doesn’t make the news.

  100. Awww love you too Holeighannie and it was to another post where someone was saying she wasnt too bad – I saw this and thought it kinda related, no? sorry :-( but – I am not saying that I think she is going to attack Adam or that she is the place holder for the FCC, I dont hate them or her, what they do or what she says will have no bearing on Adams success, in my little mind anyway so they dont bother me one way or the other – this was just amusing to me. I bet they will get along just fine, he is charming.

  101. Awww love you too Holeighannie and it was to another post where someone was saying she wasnt too bad ‘“ I saw this and thought it kinda related, no?

Ahh, okay, I guess I see your point then, haha. I mean, it’s all subjective, but that makes sense to me. My hope is they do all get along great; there is no reason to assume they shouldn’t, just by politics or whatever. In all likelihood it’ll just be another blip on the radar, with none of explosions people are expecting.

ETA: Also, I’m glad we can take opposite sides on this and still be cool, I’ve always liked you since the Taylor Hicks days! Hahaha.

  102. his first single should have been music again and the second one broken open or soaked.

With due respect, broken open and soaked are highly esoteric and IMHO, not especially radio-friendly. I love them both, but which station would play them?

Music again is also pretty different than what is on radio right now. That is why I love it, but, again, just wondering who would play it? Hard Rock? Top 40? Hit Radio? Sadly, few music directors seem to go out on a limb.

I love this album BECAUSE it isn’t completely commercial. There are songs that will likely never be on radio. And I am 100% okay with that.

FYI, I think Fever is going to be a huge hit.

  103. “”Also, I’m glad we can take opposite sides on this and still be cool, I’ve always liked you since the Taylor Hicks days! Hahaha.””

Awww memories and I am a Kris fan too by the way – I was one of those silly Kradams – just more passionate about this one –

“”FYI, I think Fever is going to be a huge hit.””
I like that too but do you think If I had you will be radio friendly also or pick you up? Yes – there is such variety on this one cd isnt there, something for everyone which is nice

  104. Elisabeth is annoying because she seems to hate a certain part of Adam’s AMA performance, but she sure doesn’t have any problem “simulating” it for everyone every time she gets the chance.

  105. Awww memories and I am a Kris fan too by the way ‘“ I was one of those silly Kradams ‘“ just more passionate about this one –

LOL! I’m the exact same, but I fall on the Kris side of things. It’s funny how things work out, isn’t it? :)

  106. I doubt Adam will get to say much on the View. Those ladies interrupt the guest, each other… even when they ask the guest a question they interrupt and argue with each other. Maddening.
It will be very difficult to watch.

Yes..Fever is my favorite. Too sexy??? really? I don’t think so… and I’m old, lol.

Lights on and your moms not home… love that line.

  107. This is from idol chatter:

The New York Times says Adam Lambert’s cancelled appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America and subsequent pick-up by CBS for The Early Show “did not seem to have much impact on the ratings of either show.”

Funny, I thought that the ratings for the CBS morning show were supposed to finally overtake the ratings for GMA, and that GMA’s ratings would be in free fall, at least that’s what I read.

Adam returns to ABC for a Thursday appearance on The View that will include a pre-taped performance. (“People seem to be afraid of what he’ll do,” Barbara Walters told The View viewers today.) He’ll also appear on the So You Think You Can Dance finale Dec. 16.

When will the hype end. Barbara will do anything to drum up ratings. They know good and well that Adam isn’t going to do anything that’s over the top, and for the most part, their viewers really don’t care. It’s just like the AMA, tell people that something OTT will happen so that they will tune in. At some point, people will begin to talk substance as far as Adam is concerned, and it will be about his talent, and not what he will do to “shock” people.

  108. Funny, I thought that the ratings for the CBS morning show were supposed to finally overtake the ratings for GMA, and that GMA’s ratings would be in free fall, at least that’s what I read.

Wow, I didn’t read that. I know some OTT fans thought CBS would get a good boost, but I didn’t know the media thought there would be a significant change in the number of viewers. I think it would have been almost impossible with the last minute change. Also, I think people who watch the show on a regular basis were the ones watching the show. I don’t get to watch any morning shows because I have to work. I would be surprised if there is much shift in viewship. Besides why watch when MJ provides all that we need. :)

  109. Tara I meant the whole doublestandard thing.and the lyrics to fever are pretty ” sexy”—nothing like lovegame though(but it’s a double standard)

  110. I glanced back through the last few pages to get a general idea of the discussion in this post. Hope I’m on-topic!

    1. Earlier today, when I heard about the View ladies’ twitter bombardment, I was curious and searched their @replies. It didn’t seem like they got a lot of tweets, maybe 15-20, then the subject changed to other people/events. Unless I didn’t go back far enough, it seems like an exaggeration.

    2. Tweeting a TV personality hardly seems like a stalkery, creeper thing to do. It’s not like an email or a phone call- a tweet basically just goes out into the nether unless the person takes the time to read their twitter feed. In addition, everyone on twitter has the option to protect their tweets if they choose.

    3. I never watch the morning shows, and didn’t watch the Early Show when Adam appeared either. I did catch it online later in the day, as I assume many people did. It’s so much more efficient that way. With Tivo and online viewing, I don’t even know how Nielsen ratings are relevant anymore.

  111. All those that watch morning programs were all watching the Today Show (NBC) with Bon Jovi. The courtyard was mobbed with people, a huge crowd. It was pretty dead over at the CBS morning show, just Adam and the glamberts. ::grin::

  112. Elisabeth is annoying because she seems to hate a certain part of Adam’s AMA performance, but she sure doesn’t have any problem ‘simulating’ it for everyone every time she gets the chance.

    ITA!

  113. Bon Jovi has been doing the 25 year annivesary thing. I saw it on one of the cable channels a few weeks ago. I’m sure the Bon Jovi show was promoted quite a bit. Plus with them being from New Jersey, I think they get a lot of local love…..and they are a major band.

I thought Adam did well and had a nice crowd considering it was a last minute schedule change. But most importantly, he sang really well. And besides a couple of million people watching is still a couple of million people. :)

  114. With due respect, broken open and soaked are highly esoteric and

IMHO, not especially radio-friendly.

I totally agree. I happen to love both FYE and Whataya Want From Me. I feel both of these songs should be radio friendly even though I have yet to hear either of them over the radio. My absolute favorite is Sleepwalker. That haunting background music is just awesome!

  115. All those that watch morning programs were all watching the Today Show (NBC) with Bon Jovi.

I wasn’t. They are old and boring. GRIN.

That’s what I have seen reported on other sites as well.

  117. No, Adam’s success is firmly rooted in his own undeniable talent.

    And all the hype.

Allison Iraheta Defends Adam LambertExtraTV ExtraTV.com 12/07/09 03:44 PM

Adam Lambert may have sparked controversy with his raunchy performance at the American Music Awards, but fellow “American Idol” contestant Allison Iraheta still has his back. “Let me say, I think he did amazing,” Iraheta, 17, tells “Extra,” adding, “That’s who he is.” Lambert, 27, was upset when ABC censored his performance, but recently admitted he got “carried away” at the awards ceremony.

Allison says that “nobody should have been surprised” at Adam’s sexually-charged performance. “You guys know what Adam’s doing,” she says, laughing. “You know what’s coming.”

After several axed performances, Adam will perform on “The View” December 10.

  119. And all the hype.

I don’t get why Adam’s media attention is “hype”. Like him or not, he is interesting to people.

  120. The band had a twitter party tonight and this was Monte’s response to the question: Any plans yet for New Years Eve for Adam and the Band?

@glambert_1481 oh yes. big, big plans. It’s going to be so much fun about 1 hour ago from web in reply to glambert_1481
