Adam Lambert debuts his new single the “Aftermath” Billboard remix, today on the Ryan Seacrest KIIS radio show.

Adam will sing an acoustic version of “Aftermath” on Thursday’s American Idol Top 13 results show. After, the song will be available on Adam Official, with the proceeds going to the Trevor project.

In the interview, Adam says he’s begun the writing process, working with 3 different producers, and a couple of different writers.

So far, he says, the material has a “rock edge” and upbeat. He’s been writing “stuff from personal experience” and “from the heart.” He wants to make something universal. He’s been going back to his journal for material

Adam says this days his heart is “full” and a “really good place.”

I’m loving the new, joyful, upbeat dance mix of “Aftermath”, how about you? Kudos to the up-and-coming producer, Billboard for an awesome re-mix.

After an acoustic performance, many people will buy the acoustic version from itunes. I hope that no one will do so thinking it is the charity single.

After an acoustic performance, many people will buy the acoustic version from itunes. I hope that no one will do so thinking it is the charity single.

I have no doubt that will happen. Aftermath is only one of three songs being pimped tonite…there is the diddy song, the cook boot song, and aftermath…i just don’t think the non-core Adam fanbase is going to remember (or if they remember, bother) to go to adam’s website to buy the remix. And i think there will be confusion as to which version is for charity — there already is…the hollywood reporter has a headline saying acoustic version will be sold for charity, but then in the body of the article refer to the remix…it is what it is…i think that the remix could have raised more money if available on itunes tonight/tomorrow…but RCA/19/adam decided to do it this way so what will be will be… i frankly think that the confusion will result in “lower than what could have been” sales for both the acoustic and remix versions….acoustic version is so pretty, but I wonder whether anyone will even know it is available on itunes to buy (because they will likely only mention that the remix is available on AO)..so i doubt it will get much of a bump…oh well. just happy to see adam sing on my tv tonight

@mmb, I agree. Having the remix only available on the super-duper user-unfriendly AO is one of the stupidest moves ever, and would be a stupid move even without the complication of having Adam sing the acoustic version on Idol. There is, of course, no acoustic single available anywhere; to find it, you have to search out the ep, and pick it out among those songs.

I don’t know what RCA and Adam were thinking with making the remix only available on AO. AO is difficult on slow computers. Its white-on-black text and buying procedure is unfriendly. The pop-up ad for the DVD is still blocking the entrance to the site, and, what is worse, only disappears when you click on the “click for more details” button.

No one who is not a determined Adam fan will brave that site to buy the single. Even those who are fans but unfamiliar with the site might be stymied by the pop-up ad.

One can only hope that someone at AO will be smart enough to put the Aftermath charity single front and center.

Maura73. Actually it’s easy to find acoustic aftermath. All you have to do is search on iTunes for ” aftermath” or Adam lambert and it’s listed. No need to find the ep first
