Storm Lee got the lowest number of votes, so he was out. Then it was between Belle Amie and Diva Fever for the sing-off. The judges chose to eliminate. Diva Fever. Sads.

I’m not going to be around to Live Blog today…but here’s your post to gab about the results! Watch yesterday’s performances HERE.

Two contestants will be sent home today, plus Diana Vickers and Katy Perry perform.

Here’s hoping Wagner, Storm, or one of Simon’s fake groups goes home today….

  1. Joe McElderry tweeted about his debut single entering the charts: “#6 – yay! thanks to everyone who bought the single xx”

  2. LOL, the camera shot when Wagner was announced safe and Simon with his middle finger “scratching” his face.

  3. Yup.

Diva Fever sang “I Will Survive”, but I was pretty sure they had no chance against the girls. I’m so happy Storm Lee is gone.

  4. Do they send 2 acts home again next week or just 1? Just my opinion of course but unless Wagner goes home next week, someone will be going home who doesn’t deserve to go yet.

  5. Yup, we should be down to 10 acts, but there are still 12 acts in the competition. I think we will have two double eliminations more.

  6. No big surprise, aside from maybee Katie not being in the B3, but her supporters where highly motivated from last week’s B3 appearance and with so many act lefts she probably didn’t need that many more votes to stay out of the B3.
Girl bands never do well on this show so Belle Amie is going to need a lot more saves from the judges if they want to stick around.
Simon will soon be left with only one act but it’s the five Bieber look alike who are very demo friendly so they will stick around no matter how badly they perform

  7. I think the right people went home. I thought the presenter was taking an unnecessary risk by asking Simon to vote anyway. Someone doesn’t like his job, lol.

  8. I was right about Storm going. I’m only sorry Diva Fever was cut now because they were fun. I knew they had no hope to be saved over Belle Amie or maybe anyone except Wagner.

I didn’t think the girls harmonized well in their sing off performance. No amount of pimping from Simon can make up for their performances. They may improve but don’t have long and wouldn’t be surprised to see them on the chopping block next week.

  9. Hmm, I actually liked Belle Amie’s sing off performance. And last night’s performance wasn’t bad either. I don’t know, they seemed just as good (if not even better) as other British girlbands (Girls Aloud, Atomic Kittens, Sugababes, The Saturdays).

But yeah, Simon really sucks as a mentor for groups.

  10. I can’t believe two of my wishes guesses came true! Must be beginner’s luck. :)

I’m surprised Belle Amie hit the bottom 3, I thought they had one of the strongest performances last night.

Simon will soon be left with only one act but it’s the five Bieber look alike who are very demo friendly so they will stick around no matter how badly they perform.

If this was American Idol I would agree with this 100%, but with having each vote cost money, wouldn’t that limit even the most fangirly pre-teen’s voting power? How many parents are going to put up with an outrageous phone bill just so that their daughters can vote a hundred times for a cute singer on the telly?

  11. LOL, people still vote, they just don’t spend two or four hours on their phones. There are still enough teenage girls that each votes a few times for cute guys.

  12. There are still so many acts left, but for me even though Rebecca Ferguson is quite good, pretty, dress well, somehow she lacks that connection to the audience. She has to step it up to get people to vote for her. She just seems to be “there”. Treyc is much better in connecting. JMO.

  13. I think the right people went home even though I’d rather Storm stayed a little longer but he also performed first and when you have 14 left someone has to go home.

Oh yeah, check out this performance on X Factor Australia today.

This is Altiyan Childs performing “Beautiful Day” and sorry Lee DeWyze your version don’t hold a candle to this.

  14. The girls were horrible, but I guess I kind of agree with the two sent home this week. Hopefully Wagner and Belle Amie go next week. Then we can get down to some serious competition.

  15. This is Altiyan Childs performing “Beautiful Day” and sorry Lee DeWyze your version don’t hold a candle to this.

    No kidding!!! Black and white

And boy, was Kate Perry terrible…strange that these guest superstars, be it this year on during AI9 or Kate Perry on X Factor, don´t feel embarrassed to be so vocally handicapped compared to the contestants

Yes! Yes! X-factor u rock! What a pure entertainment! Bring me those kind of performances here, SIMON COWELL. Asap!!!

  17. The girls were bad on the first two shows, and only slightly better on the sign off, and I didn’t understand the judges praise for them.
I didn’t care who went home, both acts were boring.

There is more talent this year than there has ever been though, but the UK X Factor is a circus, and it gets an unbelievable amount of hype and buzz in the tabloids. I wonder if the US version will be able to match this, and also whether the US will be as uncritical as the UK about the manipulations and non talent side of the show.

And boy, was Kate Perry terrible…strange that these guest superstars, be it this year on during AI9 or Kate Perry on X Factor, don´t feel embarrassed to be so vocally handicapped compared to the contestants

It’s because there is more to it than great vocals, and Katy Perry is able to write very catchy songs that appeal to many people.
Singing well in itself is ordinary, there are loads of people who can do it. An example on the X Factor is TreyC. Great vocalist, but no artistic identity, and she won’t go anywhere.

  18. Perez Hilton posted Belle Amie’s Saturday’s and Sunday’s performances and he was very surprised to see them in the bottom 3. Hmm.

  19. The shocking suprise is Wagner never hit bottom 3 yet. Lets see if the producer want to keep him longer next week.

If they do, he will sing in the next half of the show. If they decide to kick him out, he will sing first with crappy song next week just like Storm did.

Next week, BelleAmie and Katie still in danger fallen to bottom 3.

I agree, that Simon will have One Direction left probably in top 10. Except Simon can find a suitable song for the girls and they smash it.

  20. Interesting result is from the 4 acts aout only Diva Fever is the Wild Card pick. Just show you that voters didnot care so much about the original top 12 of judges pick.

And yes, this year had to be Cherryl worst pick . After 2 shows, TreyC is the best from the 4 girls categories by A MILE. And she is her wild card pick?

  21. Hmm well, I have an idea why TreyC was only chosen for the show as a wildcard pick.

You see, it all has to do with who won The X Factor or was signed in the previous 6 seasons. They don’t want to create the same type of artist every year or every two years.
Two of the previous 6 X Factor winners are female: Leona Lewis (season 3) and Alexandra Burke (season 5). They are both black females and on a show like Idol and X Factor, categorized as “divas”. Sure, they are different – Leona is “the diva”, vocalist, ballad singer. Alexandra is marketed as a pop/rnb singer, Check out their music videos on YouTube, to see the difference in music.
So, they successfully differentiated two X Factor Divas. Both are successful. Do they want to add another black female winner to the circle and risk weakening their careers?

This season, 6 of the TOP 8 girls were black and two were white. Each girl was talented in her own way.
All black girls could sing. Raquel and Annastasia just didn’t have the X Factor, IMO. Keri and Gamu had it, but I think they would benefit from two extra years of preparation. They were both very young, 18 year old?
TreyC is very good, but I think TPDB thought it would be hard to differentiate her from Alexandra. Plus, TreyC is already 27 years old, she was originally in the Overs category. I think TPTB would rather have a younger winner.
The last black girl in the group was Rebecca. Her tone is special and it would be easy to differentiate her from Leona and Alexandra. So, she got a spot on the show.

I’m not a fan of Cher and Katie, but I can see the logic of TPTB.

Thanks earthy – now I’ll have to spend time following XFactor Australia as well (and since I’m passing that link on to every else I know, I’m spreading the corruption!) :)

Glad to see my favorites are all still here – Matt, Rebecca, TreyC. I thought Rebecca sounded fantastic in the Lady Gaga piece.
