X Factor UK S13E14 – Week 1 – The Results

It looks like The Brooks (Brooks Way) were permanently axed from The X Factor.

How to watch X Factor UK from outside the UK?

You can watch X Factor live, online. ITV streams the show through the ITV Player. However, ITV blocks viewers from outside of the UK. To get around that, you need to use VPN connection. If Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is your preferred browser, install Hola extension and set them to UK server. Then open the ITV Player, make a free account and pick the right channel. The player will ask you for a ZIP code. Find an active UK ZIP code HERE. Make sure you have the cookies enabled. You can also try to find a working ITV stream on MyiPlayer.com, TVPC.com or FilmON.com.

The X Factor airs tonight at 8:00pm BST (9:00pm CEST, 3:00pm EDT, 12:00am PDT) on ITV 1 (60min).

Last night, 11 acts performed for the very first time. The Brooks twins, now renamed Brooks Way, were suspended from the competition a few hours before the show because one of them (Josh) was accused of punching his ex girlfriend in the face and breaking her nose. Now The Sun reports twins are history. I expect Dermot O’Leary will deliver the news tonight.

Still, one of the acts that performed last night is expected to get the boot, too. The Bottom 3 will face another vote (X Factor app only, free of charge, 4 minutes long) and the act with the highest number of votes will be instantly saved. The remaining two acts will then have to face off in the sing off. The judges will then decide who goes.

With two acts leaving the show in week 1, perhaps another wildcard is on the cards?

James Arthur is performing on the show tonight.

Brooks Way are already gone from the intro!

Dermot introduces the judges. They all wear black. It’s Sharon Osbourne’s birthday.

Voting is still open, Dermot explains the new voting system.

The X Factor finalists perform Fleur East’s “Sax”.

The judges behaved weirdly last night and Dermot assures us the judges drank only water last night. Time for a recap!

Sharon Osbourne gets a big chocolate birthday cake and she blows out the candles. She is 64 now.

Dermot gives us our 5 minute warning.

During the commercial break I’m browsing Twitter. Little Mix are releasing their new single “Shout Out To My Ex” next Sunday after their performance on the X Factor.

We are back from the break and the lines are now closed.

After a short chat with the judges, Dermot and Simon introduce James Arthur. His current single “Say You Won’t Let Go” is X Factor’s 41st UK #1 single. This performance will likely seal his 3rd week at the top of the chart.

After the performance, James is on his best behavior. Nicole is so proud of him. We are getting the results after the break.

We are back and it’s time for the results. The judges bring their acts on stage.

The Results:

SAFE:
Relley C
5 After Midnight
Matt Terry
Sam Lavery
Ryan Lawrie
Emily Middlemas
Honey G
Gifty Louise

BOTTOM 3:
Saara Aalto
Freddy Parker
Bratavio

The public will vote to save one of the acts from BOTTOM 3. The remaining two act will sing for their lives in the sing off.

After the break, the lifeline vote is now closed. The Bottom 3 are on stage, the judges give us their opinions. Dermot says the votes are verified … Freddy Parker is SAFE.

Saara Aalto and Bratavio are sent backstage to prepare for the sing off.

Saara Aalto – Alive (Sia)

Bleh, this is not one of Sia’s best songs. It’s easy to hear Saara’s nerves.

Bratavio – The Only Way is Up (Yazz)

A mess, but at least it’s a dance song.

DECISION

Louis sends home Saara Aalto. He praises Saara, but sticks with his own act.
Sharon sends home Bratavio. She sticks with her own act.
Nicole is surprised by Bratavio’s singing. She sends home Bratavio.
Simon compares the sing off to guinea pig vs. a race horse race. He sends home Bratavio.

Bratavio are leaving us tonight.

Louis is down to 1 act!

Bratavio’s exit in week 1 is the most predictable result possible – Like Blonde Electra duo a few years ago, they never appeared as likable to the public. Unlikable joke act with little singing talent … week 1 exit.

The TOP 10 join Dermot on stage. It’s time to select next week’s theme. The X Factor’s Jukebox is brought on stage. Dermot spins the big wheel. There are 8 categories … Next week’s theme is MOTOWN.

Little Mix and OneRepublic will be performing on the results show next week.
