A week from today the winner of X Factor UK S12 will be revealed. It’s crystal clear who is the chosen one this year: Louisa Johnson. Just last night we saw her get top notch track production, the best sound effect and the best stage production. She even wore a Balmain dress during her first performance.
Reggie’N’Bollie are also wanted in the final to liven up the Wembley arena. They can’t really sing, but their chosen musical lane – reggae/dancehall doesn’t require much vocal ability. TPTB hyped them a lot – hopefully not enough to win the show.
Che Chesterman can sing and can turn in a pleasant performance, but he is very boring and has no star quality whatsoever.
Lauren Murray is a very good singer, but she isn’t the chosen one. And last night wasn’t her night. Her first performance was very poor due to her illness. She also got no help from the production.

So, who is leaving us tonight? We don’t know whether there is a sing off tonight. There used to be no sing off in the semifinal, but a few year ago this changed. I think TPTB want to get rid of Lauren, to stop the vote splitting with Louisa and ensure that Rita, Cheryl and Nick each have one act in the final. Rita has two acts, Louisa is the chosen one, so Lauren is the odd one out.

Another cold open. The TOP 4 stand on stage. Reggie’N’Bollie in green and yellow, Louisa in orange, Lauren in red and black and Che in blue.

Jason Derulo and Sia are performing tonight.

After tonight, we will have more judges than contestants!

We are getting a reminder of the first round performances first.

TOP 4 sing Pharrell’s “Happy”. It’s super slowed down … and Reggie’N’Bollie do a rap, since they can’t sing.

Recap of the second round.

First guest performer tonight is Jason Derulo. Last night he dueted with Little Mix at Capital’s Jingle Ball. Tonight he is performing “Want You To Want Me”.

Olly gives us the 5 minute warning.

We are back from the break and the voting is now closed.

Sia is here, performing her new single “Alive”. She says she is releasing an album of rejects.

We are back from the commercial break. Caroline and Olly say the proceeds from the sales of this year’s winner’s single will got to two charities. We get to see a heartbreaking video of a little girl with two life threatening conditions. The first charity to get help is “Together For Short Lives”.

Time for the results! Over 3 million votes!

The judges join their acts on stage.

Yep, sing-off.
