Undoubtedly, it’s one of our most successful — and controversial — TV shows, shattering the dreams of thousands, while making the careers of a very select few.
But, until now, what goes on backstage at The X Factor has remained secret.
Last Saturday, I was given unprecedented fly-on-the-wall access to the live show — from daybreak to midnight.
So, which judges hate each other off-screen as well as on? Who’s been given Simon Cowell’s luxury dressing room? And which contestant had a diva-style tantrum mid-show?
If only they would broadcast it. Because what happens off-camera is even more gripping than what you see on TV.
No wonder judge Kelly Rowland insists: ‘What happens backstage should stay backstage…’

Luck of the Irish! Louis Walsh is the ONLY X Factor judge to be guaranteed his seat on the panel in next series of talent show
The new judges were expected to cause fireworks and rake in viewers for the latest series of The X Factor.
But it is old charmer Louis Walsh that has impressed instead; with the 59-year-old the only panellist with a guaranteed seat in the next series.
Tulisa Contostavlos, Kelly Rowland and Gary Barlow will live in limbo for up to five months before decisions are made on their fate.

M&S drop Misha B from star role in X Factor Christmas ad – and replace her with Amelia Lily
Misha Bryan has been dropped from the starring role in the M&S Christmas advert – to be replaced by comeback girl Amelia Lily.
The Longsight singer was given top billing in the ad featuring all the X Factor finalists earlier this month.
She was seen singing the final words of the song Wish Upon A Star.
At the time the advert was first released Misha B was hot favourite to win the show but she has now been in the bottom two twice.
The ad has undergone a number of changes, including the editing out of Frankie Cocozza, but Misha has remained in the closing scene.
But in the latest version of the ad, Misha has been given a much smaller role.
The prime spot has instead been given to Amelia, who was allowed back into the competition three weeks ago after Frankie Cocozza quit.

X Factor fix fracas after telly ad swap
X FACTOR fans reacted with fury last night after Amelia Lily took Misha B’s star role in the M&S Christmas advert — claiming it suggested a FIX.
A re-edited version of the When You Wish Upon A Star ad was screened — but instead of Misha B on the lingering last line, it was Amelia.
Fan Luke Bellars posted on Twitter: “Just realised M&S put Amelia Lily in the ad, it’s a fix.”

TODAY the X Factor finalists plus One Direction and JLS are joining forces to ask YOU to dig deep – to help seriously sick kids.
The singers have come together to record a brand-new version of Wishing On A Star, to be released on Sunday.
Profits will go to a charity hand-picked by Simon Cowell called Together For Short Lives. It provides respite, support and medical care for 23,500 children with serious illnesses who are not expected to reach adulthood.

She’s been given her second chance on this year’s The X Factor, being voted in to replace bad boy Frankie Cocozza less than two weeks ago.
But 16-year-old Amelia Lily’s delight at returning to the show is being overshadowed by judge Gary Barlow, who is continuing to lay into the teenager, branding her performances ‘out of control’ and ‘desperate’.
On Sunday’s live showdown, which saw his act Craig Colton voted off the series, Gary accused Amelia of shouting her way through her song choice as she battled for her place with a sing-off against the Scouser.

She may come across as eccentric and unique on the X Factor but it seems that Kitty Brucknell may not be so original after all.
The former reality show hopeful has been accused of stealing somebody else’s life – down to every last detail.
Lorna Bliss, 33, who has been dubbed the Britain’s Got Talent equivalent of Kitty, said the singer tried to take her friends, her work and even wrecked her relationship with her boyfriend.
The girls have known each other for several years since they began working as Britney Spears tribute acts.

X Factor quitter Frankie Cocozza has made no secret of his love of ladies and claimed last week he had slept with 71 women.
But it looks like his number may have risen overnight after he was seen bringing a group of women back to his Liverpool hotel room last night.
And it looks like he may have got lucky with at least one of them after a young blonde woman was spotted leaving the Hotel Indigo this morning in the same clothes she had been wearing last night.
The mystery woman, who was wearing a black top and leather mini-skirt was seen standing next to Cocozza in the lobby when he returned from his gig at a nearby nightclub.
