X Factor UK Headlines for 08/26/12

X Factor UK news!

It was an eventful week for One Direction boys. They revealed the title of their next single and the pre-orders went through the roof overnight. They also filmed music video for the new song. Yes, that’s a POOL PARTY with the boys in wet shirts! Zayn Malik quit Twitter and then returned less than two days later. 1D are also headlining BBC Radio 1 Teen Awards on October 7th. Liam and Louis were caught riding bikes in London.

Leona Lewis premiered her new single “Trouble” and filmed music video in LA with Colton Haynes.

JLS announced the title of their 4th album “Evolution” and filmed music video for their next single.

Little Mix‘s single “Wings” was finally released to iTunes UK last night. It’s sitting at #1 right now. Girls celebrated their 1st year together and appeared on This Morning this week. X Factory’s newest product looks ready for prime time.

Joe McElderry premiered a new song and this one is not a cover!

And yes, Rebecca Ferguson is re-releasing her debut album “Heaven”. “Backtrack” is her next single and the re-release will also feature “I’ll Count the Days”, taken from the forthcoming series of Downton Abbey.

Alexandra Burke celebrated her 24th birthday.

Olly Murs would consider replacing Louis Walsh if he ever left The X Factor. How ambitious!

More X Factor news:  Simon Cowell dumped ex-girlfriend Sinitta off X Factor. And it looks like choreographer Brian Friedman is returning to X Factor UK. He worked on the show before and moved to X Factor USA last year.

Some of this season’s audition standouts are allowed to speak to the press early. Read interviews with Ella Henderson here and here. Last night’s wannabe Lucy Spraggen tattooed Olly Murs’s name on her foot.

X Factor’s bosses aren’t too worried about the show. Peter Fincham says X Factor has years left, but they are looking for new formats in case Simon decides to call it quits. Meanwhile executive producer Richard Holloway disses The Voice.
