Just four years ago, they were unknown wannabes auditioning for a talent show.
But One Direction have now been revealed as the richest boyband in British music history, with a combined wealth of £70million.
Each member of the five-piece group, who achieved fame as runners-up on the X Factor in 2010, is now worth £14million according to the Sunday Times’ list of richest musicians aged 30 and under.

ONE Direction are about to hit the big screen as cartoon characters.
Just like The Beatles’ hugely successful Yellow Submarine, Harry Styles and co will star in a series of music animations.
Simon Cowell’s Syco Entertainment aims to appeal to new fans as young as five by cashing in on a deal with Animal Logic Entertainment.
The Australian-owned animation and special effects studio is behind a string of box office hits including The Lego Movie.
Boss Zareh Nalbandian said: “This is a perfect fit of complementary talents.”
Syco said in a statement last week that the partnership would “develop music-based animated and hybrid films”.
Cowell, 54, added: “The music has to be current.”

He’s got a busy schedule as one fifth of boy band One Direction, but Harry Styles knows just what to do when he has a rare day off.
The 20-year-old singer headed to a golf course in Los Angeles with a pal where the skilled sportsman spent the day perfecting his swing.
Looking the part, the heart throb wore a shiny white T-shirt with a pair of grey golfing trousers and special white shoes, topping off the look with a white leather glove.

As well as admitting he’s ‘jealous’ of them, Liam, 22, also praised the lads from Sydney’s northwest suburbs calling them ‘great musicians.’

The former X Factor winner sang the national anthem in front of thousands of Arsenal and Hull City fans prior to the FA Cup Final, after opting for a simple but chic ensemble.
The 29-year-old, supported by a large band clad in red and black, belted out the song prior to the match, which saw her team Arsenal, win by three goals to two.

The couple, who first met on The X Factor, married in the stunning chapel of Mount Stuart House on the Isle of Bute, where Stella McCartney also held her wedding in 2003.
The 27-year-old told Hello! Magazine this week: ‘Chloe and I are both traditional in our views. For me, marriage is the union of a man and a woman before God, so it meant a lot to us to have a proper church service with hymns.’

Nooooo, he hasn’t split from Lauren Silverman , he’s just struggling with his search for a female replacement for Sharon Osbourne on the X Factor panel.
So, he has switched to finding a “young and relevant bloke”. Yep, me too, Mr C.
I hear that Alesha Dixon, 35, and Mel B, 38, are both no-no’s, leaving the X Factor boss a rather large problem with just a couple of weeks to go.
My sources say that Simon, 54, is looking for a character popular with youngsters who can balance things out – just like when he got Demi Lovato on his US panel.
They considered Rochelle Humes, 26, from The Saturdays but she wasn’t popular enough.
So now Si and his team are opening things up to a man.
