Eurovision 2012: Ireland : Meet the Irish finalists
The five Irish acts that will be competing for representing their country at the Eurovision Song Contest this year, have been announced. The lucky finalists will perform their songs at the Irish national final to be held on February 24th during ‘The Late Late Show’ on RTE One. The winner will be decided by a combination of jury voting (2/3) and tele voting (1/3) and will get to perform on the stage of the Baku Crystal Hall in front of an audience of 16,000.

Despite the early rumors saying that RTE have internally selected Jedward to represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest 2012, the country’s representative in Baku will be determined by the means of a national selection, the climax of which is going to be hit on February 24th when the national final will be held in Dublin.

Five acts coming from different fields of the Irish musical stage will perform their entry during a special broadcast of The Late Late Show on RTÉ One. Each act is being mentored by a Irish personality of the show business.

Finalists :

Maria McCool (mentored by Edele Lynch)
Donna MacCaul (mentored by Bill Hughes)
Una Gibney & David Shannon (mentored by Julian Benson)
Andrew Mann (mentored by Greg French)
Jedward (mentored by Linda Martin)

Last year Jedward represented Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest. The X Factor twins placed 8th in the grand final in Dusseldorf.

Jedward say they will move their wives into one big house
Jedward will always live in the same house – even after they get married, the pop twins have revealed.

The former X Factor stars, 20, said they cannot bear to be apart from each other and will never let a woman get between them.

They added: “When we get married we’ll get a big house with separate bedrooms, but a communal kitchen and living room so we could still see each other all the time.

“We are trying to buy a house in LA. It was £6million, but now it’s down to £3million and we’re waiting to hear whether we can have it.”

Will Westlife’s Kian Egan take Louis Walsh’s chair as an X Factor judge?
Wounded Simon Cowell is not in a mood to be messed with and is considering ‘sweeping changes’ to The X Factor later this year, I’m told.

Following his purge of close friend Paula Abdul, as well as Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones, from the U.S. version earlier in the week, he’s turning his attention to the UK show.

But ITV executives are urging him ‘not to throw the baby out with the bathwater’.

The first decisions to be made are expected to be about the future of host Dermot O’Leary and judge Gary Barlow. ITV would rather they stay but Cowell is not certain.

One new name in the mix to replace the Take That star if he were to depart the talent show is Westlife member Kian Egan.

Play Harry upfront! One Direction’s management push Mr Styles as leader of the pack as band bid’s to break the US
They were put together as equals on the 2010 series of X Factor.

But One Direction’s U.S. management are trying to make Harry Styles into the lead singer, with sources saying boybands in America that have a recognised frontman tend to make it bigger than those that don’t.

The teenager, who turns 18 today, has been given leading roles during their current tour stateside.

One Direction arrive back in Britain and head straight for a good old fashioned pasty after a week in health conscious Hollywood
Their album has been brought forward a week in the U.S. due to the bands popularity

They had been mobbed by teenage girls throughout their U.S. tour and became instant heartthrobs.

So it’s not surprising that One Direction’s debut album has been brought forward a week in America.

But after spending this week promoting their music in the US the X Factor finalists arrived back in England today and had clearly been missing British food.

Walking on sunshine: Rebecca Ferguson is a ray of light in red as she floats around a sunny Los Angeles in her new video
It wouldn’t be considered most people’s typical attire for a stroll on a sun-kissed Californian beach.

But Rebecca Ferguson needed to stand out from the crowd as she walked along Venice Beach in a long floaty red chiffon dress.

And she certainly was the centre of attention as she took to the bustling, colourful sidewalk to film her new video, which was released yesterday.

‘It’s a miracle I’m still alive’: Cher Lloyd reveals she has been ‘driven to hell and back’ by internet bullies
With over 49.7 million views on YouTube and a number one single under her belt, the last couple of years have been good for Cher Lloyd.

However, behind the success lies a shattered teen who was attacked by internet bullies after rising to stardom as an X Factor finalist.

The 18-year-old recalls how she was target and driven to hell and back by anonymous people on the web but is now ready to help others who suffer at the hands of faceless bullies.

She told the Sun newspaper how she hounded on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube and was terrified when someone threatened to to kill her mother.

Blast from the past: An emotional Olly Murs returns to where it all began as he takes his tour to London’s O2 Arena
He’s come a long way since his time on the X Factor but last night Olly Murs returned to the stage that made him famous.

The 27-year-old singer continued his 18-date tour at London’s O2 Arena, which is of course where the X Factor auditions were held back in 2009.

Murs was obviously very aware of this fact and was feeling excited, but most probably was expecting flashbacks.

Someone’s keen to show off their body! Alexandra Burke dons sequin hot pants and a lot of leather to shoot her new music video
It might be Winter but that hasn’t stopped Alexandra Burke from wearing tiny hot pants.

The 23-year-old singer donned the very short and sequined garment to shoot her new music video last month.

Not only did she show off an impressive pair of toned legs, Burke also flaunted her flat stomach by teaming the shorts with a black cut-out bra.

Aren’t you cold? Simon Cowell doesn’t let London’s snow put him off wearing his favourite low-cut shirt on dinner date
He’s a big fan of the low-cut shirt, sporting the top on frequent different occasions.

And Simon Cowell certainly didn’t let the freezing cold temperatures or snow in London put him off donning an extreme version of the shirt as he headed out for dinner with his ex-girlfriend Jackie St Clair.

The 52-year-old music mogul showed off his hairy chest in the plunging white top, which he teamed with a black coat and trousers as he arrived at The Arts Club restaurant.
