The week flew by and it’s time for another dose of X Factor UK auditions.
My live feed did not cooperate with me tonight, but let’s take a look at the most memorable auditions:
David Wilder, 42, London. “Life On Mars” by David Bowie
He wants to be a rock legend. It looks like he will be this year’s Wagner. Kelly, Tulisa and Louis liked him, but Gary offered some constructive criticism: bad tuning, bad timing, bad diction, no connection to the song … and he also absolutely loved it. 4 yeses and David was through to the bootcamp.
Luke Lucas , 16, “Who’s Loving You” by Michael Jackson
Yeah, that’s his real name. He’s a big fan of Tulisa. 4 yeses
Michael Lewis, 27, “Look At Me” by Geri Halliwell
He auditioned last year as Michael Jackson impersonator. This time, he is back as himself. His singing is still out of tune and his dancing is still bad. He was given 4 nos from the judges. Gary eventually had to push him off stage.
Angel, girlband, “Whip My Hair” by Willow Smith
Just awful. One of the girls talks back to Tulisa. 4 nos
Jade Richards, 21, “Someone Like You” by Adele
Her grandma used to be a singer. The old lady obviously wants her granddaughter to reach for the stars.
Jade makes Kelly Rowland and Louis Walsh cry. I have to be honest, I’m not impressed. Too shaky. But Jade sails through with 4 yeses.
The Daily Mail has a recap of the episode.
Two audition episodes are scheduled for next weekend.
