It takes some major cojones to charge nearly $100 for this, but I guess people were willing to pay that amount.

  2. but I guess people were willing to pay that amount.

1252 at the concert. I guess people are used to paying that for a Vegas show? IDK.

Makes the AI tour look really sad. They were resorting to $10 tickets and got nowhere close to a sell-out. I wonder if the promoter will ever release all those concert stats or if they are just that embarrassing.

  3. Here’s a little something for you stats people regarding Idol #1’s for VH1 Top 20 Countdown in 2010. The following all made #1 on the countdown. The number in parenthesis is how many weeks it was at #1.

I thought I would post it now while I was thinking about it. There might or might not be another Idol #1 before the end of the year. (Thinking of Lee & Crystal.)

    Daughtry “Life After You” (1x)
Kris Allen “Live Like We’re Dying” (2x)
Adam Lambert “Whataya Want From Me” (5x)
Adam Lambert “If I Had You” (2x)
    Daughtry “September” (2x)

We may not see more stats for the AI9 tour. I believe things may have been even worse than we thought when the tour was happening. Didn’t we already have all or at least most of the numbers for the AI8 tour by this time last year? Stats for 34 of this summer’s 44 tour concerts still haven’t been reported.

  5. well the average amount of $ spent on tix for that AGT show was $57.7. So it’s not like most of the people there bought the $100 tix.

  6. This must be Club Nokia, because The Nokia holds 7,000.

The AGT tickets are expensive, but the venues are small. I don’t think that it compares so well to the idol tour.

  8. Didn’t we already have all or at least most of the numbers for the AI8 tour by this time last year?

Last year, we tended to get them a week or two after each concert. But, then that was AEG Live. Maybe Live Nation is slower to report (I say that optimistically, because I’m still holding out hope that we might get them. I like complete sets).

  9. I’m beyond annoyed with the lack of AI9 stats. I’ve never before cared what those numbers were, but I’m dying to know what the Chicago crowd was. So of course the one time I *do* care, they hold out. Serves me right, I suppose.

  10. Lee’s single is holding at #56 on iTunes chart. It’s been at that # for at least the last day or so

  11. iTunes is frozen for more than a day now(not sure since when exacly), so we don’t know how well Lee’s single is doing right now.

American TOP 40 (HOT AC) :
    02 02 (18) Daughtry – September
    19 17 (08) Adam Lambert – If I Had You
24 25 (35) Adam Lambert – Whataya Want From Me
    31 31 (50) Kris Allen – Live Like We’re Dying
    38 40 (47) Daughtry – Life After You

  12. I’m pretty sure they’re not intending to release the AI9 tour stats – Idolstages has even gone to the trouble of removing the column for those figures from their website tour venue info!

Looks like they had no intention of filling in the gap for 2010, probably to avoid comparisons with previous years, and hit on this solution.

Out of sight, out of mind!

  13. iTunes is frozen for more than a day now(not sure since when exacly)

It has been at least 48 hours now.

  14. AGT is the only group show I would pay money for. Where else are you going to see all of those different acts in one place? Plus this year was good.

  15. iTunes is frozen for more than a day now(not sure since when exacly)

It hasn’t moved since Thursday morning at least.

From yesterday Billboard thread: quoted by Mateja

“At midweek, and barring an iTunes server meltdown or Target suddenly shutting its doors, Swift will score …”
    http://www.hitsdailydouble.com/news/rumormill.cgi

Maybe that joking comment by Billboard is in part true? If the iTunes server was getting close to overloading they may have dropped some functions, such as calculating rankings for display, so that they could continue taking sales …..

    Looking forward to the numbers!

Undoubtedly broken by Taylor Swift’s 50 singles! (Ok, only 20, but still!)

  17. We may still get the s9 tour stats for AI if the tour makes the year end Pollstar and Billboard lists. It won’t break down by city but we’ll get totals and averages.

They were booked into the Nokia Theater — so they must have reduced the capacity. The capacity on the concert boxscores is the number of tickets offered for sale — not the capacity of the venue.

Club Nokia capacity is only 2,300.

And here is the concert listing on the Nokia Theater website:

  19. bigaifan:
    Any numbers for Kris’ tours?

Stats for Kris’s headliner concerts seem even more scarce than Idol’s. I’ve seen only 5 of them so far and they were all early in his tour. They averaged about 508 of 876 tickets sold for 58%. But I think his sold percentage has got progressively better since.

  20. But I think his sold percentage has got progressively better since.

How can we determine that? I’m curious to know his stats as well.

  21. How can we determine that? I’m curious to know his stats as well.

I’m judging from anecdotal evidence by peeps who have been at Kris’s concerts. Of course, objective numbers are always better, but they are slow in coming.

  22. Woohoo!!!

Breaking into the top five albums this week is Adam Lambert’s FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT – he’s in at #5 about 12 hours ago via HootSuite

This is Australia where FYE has already gone gold.

  23. Makes the AI tour look really sad.

I’m not sure how anyone can compare American Got Talent with American Idol when some AGT shows sold fewer than 2000 tickets and only grossed just over $100,000. SYTYCD seems to have more comparable numbers to the last Idol tour.
