  1. Thanks tripp_ny, for getting the VH1 results. Here’s the updated historical data.

    01 Daughtry “September” [10|1(1x)] [+5] NEW Peak
    19 Adam Lambert “If I Had You” [16|1(2x)] [-5]

  2. Great for Daughtry on VH1! And so long IIHY. Does anyone know how many weeks it charted for? Whatever, it had a nice run!

  3. CHRIS_Daughtry
Wow!!!! Thank you all who voted so hard to make “September” #1 on VH1!!!! That’s so awesome!

  4. And so long IIHY. Does anyone know how many weeks it charted for? Whatever, it had a nice run!

Yes, it certainly has been a great run for IIHY MV and guess it has to “retire” at some point.

“If I Had You” entered the countdown at #20 on 6/19 (after the video debuted on VH1.com 6/14) thus this makes it a total of 16 weeks on the charts.

You can find the link from the archive here.

  5. Not really a number, but apparently according to a bill board article(in the subscriber section) Elevator has an impact date of Oct 4th on HAC. But who knows. I dont think Jive will actually do anything, let alone see an adds date on either AA or FMQB.

  6. Yes, it certainly has been a great run for IIHY MV and guess it has to “retire” some time.

It will end its run four weeks shy of VH1’s 20 week retirement rule. The video will also be removed from both VH1 and MTV Hit’s playlists next week.

  7. If it has not reached the 20 week retirement rule, I wonder why is the video being removed then? Would this indicate that a new single may be on the horizon perhaps?! Oh, how I wish this is true….

  8. VH1 pulled WWFM after week 18. The fans were not happy because it could have easily made 20 weeks. It was still hovering around the top 10. I’m not 100% sure their voting process is legit, anyway. Several times, recently, videos wih low views made it high, so there may be some “pay for” practices going on. Just a suspicion, no facts.

  9. Vh1 has rarely been allowing videos to get to 20 weeks anymore (at least they haven’t over the past year). Iihy is probably being removed because it is the oldest video on both the countdown and the playlist and it is the fall and lots of new product is coming out and vh1 needs to make room for it.

  10. For those asking about # weeks on the Countdown, I try to include that info if I post on these threads. If you check my post for Daughtry, for ex. the first number in [ ] is # of weeks on the countdown and 2nd number is the peak on the countdown. If there is a number in parentheses with an x, that’s the number of weeks at #1. The last [ ] gives you the increase or decrease from previous week. I hope that helps in interpretation for any future postings that I might bring over for VH1 Countdown. :)

  11. How many times a video is viewed has nothing to do with how many votes it gets. If someone has a fan base that is willing to power vote, then their video will have a chance to do better than artist’s who don’t have that type of passionate fan base.

VH1 hasn’t retired a video in a long time. They removed videos by Briteny Spears and Kelly Clarkson at the 19 week mark, even though the songs were the top 2 ranked songs on the countdown. I think all of the power voting by fan bases (of artists from AI and those who didn’t go through AI) has made them leery of giving videos the honor of being retired.

  13. I’m so happy that September hit #1…that makes every one of Daughtry’s videos hitting the top spot, not bad considering they have 8!

I don’t comment in here much but thanks to all those that keep the numbers coming, I’m too lazy to actually keep up with it most of the time so I love being able to pop in here and get all the info.

  14. Congrats to Daughtry! I’ve said it before, but I love September, by far my favorite song off LTT. I haven’t followed the updates closely on this song, but with the appearances lately, this song seems to be picking up steam. Gives me hope pop rock will make a comeback on CHR.

Anxiously awaiting news of Kris’ third single – hopefully something will be announced after the USO Tour & before he goes out on the road with Lifehouse.

  15. Still excited about Cale’s tweet last night hinting at a 3rd single for Kris. Fingers crossed that tthis means he will actually be getting one soon. I’m hoping for AWM, but watch it be WAOMF, the one song left on the album he didn’t write/help write. I think WAOMF is a really good song with potential to be a big hit, but I still would prefer 3rd single to be something Kris wrote

  16. I think WAOMF is the best song left on Kris’ album. My second choice would be CSA. AWM is just annoying and BWCU has weak chorus IMO.

  17. Seriously, why doesn’t Jive just release the next Kris single?? It’s great that he is getting a third, but Jive needs to step things up and get the song out. The label just seems so slow to take any action, and it only makes everything more difficult.

  18. I hope that AWM is the next single and that Jive will announce it next week. I mainly just hope that whatever song they will choose it will be a hit.

  19. I saw on twitter that LLWD is #28 on AT Top 40 — UP 3 spots from last week?

LOL — it’s the song that would not die

  20. I figure it’ll come down to AWM, CSA or WAOMF. If what Cale said about there being recent talks about a 3rd single even turns into reality, that is.

  21. Congrats to Daughtry for the #1 Music Video on Vh1…..Congrats To Adam for a impressive run with IIHY on VH1 Top 20 MV countdown.

On CHR Looks like IIHY is holding its own. Maybe its not peaking quite yet. I hope it can get to #15 before it starts to go back down the charts. Gonna be close.

If Jive does what they did with the last single, they’ll choose the worst remaining track on Kris’s album and re-record it with an added element that makes it suck even more. :(

  23. I think CSA or AWM is a better single that is catchy and a hook that can stay in your mind for a while. Not sure about the WAOMF. But overall, would prefer SMAYA, it’s almost Christmas and it sounds so beautiful. Or is there a possibility that Heartless can be re-release via kris allen’s version. That would be great. Let’s hope for the best and this time, let’s support Kris all the way.

  26. Matt’s song with Jim Brickman is up 15 spins for the week but down a chart position to 24. He also picked up two new stations this week. I hope the song can continue to grow for a few more weeks as there are a bunch of songs ranked above it that are likely to go recurrent soon.
