Wednesday Ratings: No Big Spike for X Factor Final

The ratings are in from TVByTheNumbers

Part 1 of Fox’s The X Factor finale was down a tenth of a point (3%) vs. last Wednesday to a 3.3 adults 18-49 rating. Note: X Factor ran until 9:31pm, and is more than usually likely to be adjusted up in the final ratings. I Hate My Teenage Daughter was up 17% vs. last week to 2.1 adults 18-49 rating. But with a minute of X Factor in those preliminary ratings, it’s more than typically likely to be adjusted down.

Fox easily topped both the night’s adults 18-49 ratings and total viewership.

While the rating went down, the number of viewers rose from last week–10.69.  That’s not the big increase you would expect for a Final.  The problem is two-fold: Lack of buzz for the show and the fact that it’s Hanukkah and we’re days away from Christmas.
